| Very useful. In light of so many BTB questions being asked constantly, should this perhaps be stickied? | |

I'd feel like tooting my own horn if I did, so... I guess there should be more people to express a need. Also the thread is already linked to in the sticky BTB thread - though that may not exactly help people finding these answers.

| Not to Necro this thread but, with a son that is now old enough to play Mordheim why would I not start up a campaign.
We are just about to start our very 1st campaign using the BTB rules. But I wanted to be sure on 1 rule. What has to be fielded in a game?
What I mean is. Do you have to field everything on your warband list that can be fielded - including horses and wagons etc etc?
The reason for asking is how it works with the "Lure of Fortune" objective that features in the Border Town Burning Campaign. Will every game played by the warband with this objective start with them needing to field all of their wagons or chaos engines, leaving them prey to losing all Silk or Prisoners collected so far every game?

| I kinda cheated and answered this on da facebooky thingy first. Since its a campaign between you and your son, I really don't care how you play it. But since everything said on the web is quoted as gospel by somebody in a game somewhere (or more importantly in MY games...) Anyway the scenarios for BTB specifically mention not fielding mounts and wagons for whatever the underground one is and the barfight. So no, you don't have to risk the wagon, etc in every game. Just the ones that aren't underground or in a bar | |

| Cheeky answer, VK. 😆
Yes, that part of the rules really sucks.
The BTB designers made all of their trade carts 2" high so that someone with a ranged weapon could stand on the wagon and pick targets to shoot. Mobile shooting platforms is at least on little benefit of all those trade wagons.

Just the ones that aren't underground or in a bar Thanks for the answer. As well as my son we have 6 others, so hopefully that will give us a good mix. I kind of hit the same conclusion and made clear to the group that you must always field everything on your roster that can legally be fielded. For vehicles and mounts I just added that if your warband starts inside of a tunnel/building/cave etc then they can leave it out for that game. I also added some extra rules that I could not find clear details for and would love another point of view on these. 1. Silks can be stolen off a wagon if its disabled or destroyed in a game. 1 silk item can be carried away per player from the wagon but they have to drop it if they get into combat and they cannot run or charge when carrying it. 2. the wheelbarrow can carry away a max of 3 silk items from a disabled/destroyed wagon 3. a chest can be brought into a game containing any items from a rosters storage. when a model is in base contact it can swap out for the contents. But Opponents could also take from it if they get into base contact.

My players would have a field day with that. We have hills with caves and buildings would appear in every possible game. 1. This means that one silk equals one treasure chest. Realistically this is not the case. I could see it if it was like a wyrdstone counter that you could only carry one of, where you may drop it if the warband routs or the warrior is taken out of action. By player do you mean warrior? Or do you really mean one silk per warband? 2. I like this as it encourages the use of an otherwise useless item. 3. Is this mandatory? This would seem to contradict the rule about the vehicle staying off table for certain scenarios or conditions.
