Whenever I'm in a Pet store, I always pass the Hindu/Buddhist statues in the aquarium section... some of which are superbly painted and dirt cheap. I'm reminded of the Ind Campaign I spit-balled on the Ol' SG forum, which amounted to nothing, really- a lack of official fluff, and too little research on my part (aside from watching Temple of Doom, I know little of the area...)

-When the idea struck me- what if, rather than a full on setting- what if there was an Ind side-expansion of Border Town burning?

For example, after I created Sartosa, Von Kurst merged it with the Lustria rules to make a setting for the islands in the New World (I like to call them the "West Inds".) I see no reason why BtB plus Jungle rules might not make an effective variant for an Ind (or a similar Southern locale, like Thailand (Tialan) , Vietnam (Siewkang), Tibet (Kitsevara), and Korea
(Han Kuo).)

In Ind, you might have
-Less Maruader influence- you might have the Hung, but others are less common
-Arab Influence - much of the country is ruled by the Arabyan influenced nobles, such as the Raj. Arabyan Tomb Raiders and Arabyan Warriors (Relics) would fit in.
-Cat-men - legends tell of cat-shaped beastmen in the jungles... who prey not on man, but live separately. They would use the same rules as Beastmen, but has the option of being a "Neutral" warband. (If so, may not take mutations).

Sadly, I don't know BTB well enough to do it myself... plus I have too many other projects on my lap... but I thought I'd spit it out there.

Heh. Might and Magic. Good times. Sadly, I don't think they make minis. Otherwise, he'd make a kick-ass "Minotaur". (Cata-taur? Leotaur?)

As for the cat-man, Alkemy's "Khaliman Republic" figures work great... they look a little well dressed for beastmen (except the females), but the clothing works perfectly for a Middle-East / Indian setting.

Sadly, while I recall the fact that the feline beastmen in Ind and the humans weren't always hostile to each other (from the Beastman book), I don't own the book, and can't back it up from any source online.
