I'm confused by the rules for chain sticks. If a model has one attack on its profile and wields chain sticks does it receive four attacks in the first round of combat and two thereafter, or three in the first round and two after that?

Also what's the deal with the fish-hook shot? Seems a lot like the old rules for steel whips, which were changed I assume because the old rules were annoying to interpret and the weapon was too strong, able to strike an enemy without retaliation. Has anyone tried using these and if so how do they turn out?

Chain Sticks:
They grant +2 Attacks in the first turn of combat so a model with 1 base attack will then have 1 + 2 = 3 Attacks. After that first round the model has 1 + 1 = 2 Attacks, as is normally the case with two weapons.

Fish-hook shot:
This is not a close combat weapon like the Steel Whip. It is a "normal" ranged weapon with the added allowance to target enemies that are engaged in close combat. So you can't really compare the two weapons. Using the hook shouldn't be confusing - at least no more than casting spells at enemies who are engaged in combat.

The hook always scared me.

Makes it really easy to take down a model with multiple wounds! Really easy!
