| The angles and stonework are exceptional! I’d like to see more stonework like that in some of your buildings, but perhaps I’m too presumptuous. Since I’m being a bit brazen, and to add to the Maria reference/resemblance, how about a sign/banner/scroll with the famous Wolf Man quote ”The way you walked was thorny, through no fault of your own…” or sum such blarney. | |

| This is sort of the transition piece to The Goblin Quarter down the block...aka Rapunzel's Goblin Village. Most of the buildings show the brick effect through cracks in the plaster; this one is more overt. I think it's like the pet resembling the owner only, in this case, the house looks like the owner/resident, living or otherwise there. Any way, thanks for the reply, Doc. I make this stuff up as I go; SO, other ideas are always appreciated. | |

| The brick work is pretty amazing. Well done amigo! I like the half moon effect in the first few photos as well. | |

| Thanks, Jim. I'm glad you like the bricks. For some strange reason or other, I find carving them to be relaxing...I think it's some form of congenital idiocy. The Crescent Moon has become a regular feature...I take photos through what used to be a magnifying lens on my florescent lamp. One of the Guys from L.A.F. suggested doing it as a sign: I just might do that for a Swamp Town or Smuggler's Cove thing. | |

| I do recall reading that in LAF, and since it has occurred more than once by accident…I tertiary the movement. | |

| I have some Wyrd Gremlins who might go with the glowing Moon sign. I do have a Swamp Town board with a tavern to put it on. | |

| The hole in the roof lines up nicely with the ruins of the Hungry Eye building, both of which will have unusual, spooky inhabitants. Hmm…Did the inhabitants fall from the sky perhaps? Impressive work, and amazingly fast, Mr. Scenery Machine. | |

I think I'm going to make the Moon with a foam core & tho the exterior in green stuff & sheet plastic with some beads for the eyes...a new building to mount it on or not is another thing - GameDoc wrote:

Thanks, Doc! My take on the damage is that an experiment in the tall building when terribly awry. Collateral damage to the warehouse & subsequent haunting were a side effect...I'm glad you noticed the hole lining up. I am a pretty steady worker of the craft, but not usually quite as productive as I've been lately. I just feel a need to create things...I hope that feeling persists. I started building #10 today & did a bit of preliminary green stuff on #9.

| SO a trip to distant Bee Cave, Live-in Yuppie Shopping Mall, killed most of yesterday. I did, HOWEVER, manage to spook out Marley's Fine Spirits, AND do the door for Building #10, The Tinkers Guild House: The Roof: The Window: AND The Door: ...thus far today I've take these photos & stared off into space. We'll what gets done...or not. | |

| That brickwork is incredible. And whatever it is coming out of the roof is super creepy. | |

...it is something I've gotten very good at over the years. In my younger days, achieving that state used to cost me some bucks. My idle time actually is still productive; i.e., I do those things that are necessary for the flashier productiveness. I've been cutting craft sticks into strips for the shingles. Next they get painted black, & then cut to size. It's like the factory work of my youth...the hands are busy, but the mind is free to wander. - theomar pius wrote:

Thanks for the kind reply, theomar. I'm delighted you like it. For some reason or other, I find doing the brickwork to be incredibly relaxing...it is probably some form of congenital idiocy. The Thing in the Attic was fun to do. There are ghostly faces amid the swirling goo &, of course, the faceless eyes add to the effect.

| The black and white undercoat always puts me in mind of an old black and white horror film style thing. Did you ever consider keeping everything in greyscale? | |

| Funny you should mention it; I was seeing Young Frankenstein playing through my head looking at the thing last night. I have done a cavern section for photos in gray scale, but the lure of flashy colors usually wins out. One of the bonuses with the black & white base coat is that the piece looks cool & complete before it is actually done. | |

| The way the board fits together is an amazingly creative design! The Twisted Man is angled masterfully! | |

| Thanks. Doc. I would love to say that it was all carefully planned, but, to a large part, it's an ad lib affair. The last building will have a balcony a couple of inches over the front walkway of the Twisted Man. I'm glad you like the angles. They started the "there was a twisted man" nursery rhyme going through my head. That, in turn, gave me the name. It is, of course, a drinking establishment. | |
