Hi Everyone, My name's Josh. I'm originally from New Zealand but currently living in China.

I'm new to Mordheim. I had an interest in it but the other folks in the group I used to play with were usually only interested in 40K. I've since met some gamers here in China and started playing AOS. One of my mate here used to play Mordheim back in the day and we're trying to convince others and get a campaign started up.

I had a hard time choosing between possessed and pirates so I'm making up one warband of each. The fact that minis are surprisingly cheap here helps (or just induces me to buy more.) I'm keen to get my warbands ready and start playing.

I spent a couple of days looking at this forum before signing up and I've already learned a lot. Great work keeping the game alive.

So warband number 3 is going to be Reiklanders.
At least with more warbands, we can get more people to try the game out & hopefully make their own warbands.

That's the plan.
At the moment, the main issues people here have with AOS is the cost in time & money to build an army (hence trying Mordheim) or "This looks interesting, but I think that if I get into it, I'll get TOO into it."

While in Mordheim getting TOO into it is more of a mission creep thing...

On the upside, quite a few miniatures can serve a double purpose -- I've got one Dwarf Slayer who's a Mordheim hired sword, a bold explorer in Warhammer Quest, & could easily be an AoS hero.

& an impulsive decision to start collecting Kharadron Overlords (having so far expressed consistent hostility to AoS -- I guess I'm just a sucker for a harpoon gun) means I'll also be producing a Mordheim list for them... This is what I mean about mission creep.

The double purpose thing helps a lot.
One guy here wants to use some of his DnD minis for Mordheim.

A slow creep might doesn't sound too bad on principal. I think my friends are worried about the creep being much faster.

Steampunk dwarf space pirates in Mordheim? That'll be interesting.

The steampunk dwarf space pirates would really be intended for a different setting -- all pirates, savage orcs, an eldritch island... There are too many nice fantasy pirate models out there to not do something like that!

I'd be surprised if someone else hasn't already.

I just might end up adopting & adjusting various features to make my own setting to fit my own particular purposes & the demands placed upon me... Like wanting a Dwarf list that allows me to use spearguns & get very cheap pistols.

Bill here, in Houston, TX! Mordheim was actually the first game that I saw played when I was 7 that got me sucked into the GW world. That being said, I didn't get a chance to actually play until about 3 years ago, and have loved it ever since!

I've actually been reading this forum's threads for about 3 years, but decided to finally register an account so that I can pay people compliments on their terrain and modelling skills.

Before moving to from New Zealand to Houston (and back, again!), I had to get rid of my Mordheim board and much of my terrain Hoping to start another one here this fall, and I hope to meet some players in the TX area one day!

Things in Texas aren't necessarily bigger, but they are further away. I originally came from LI, NY.
I have been keeping the place going while Tom has been occupied with reality.

I run a WFRP game, and I've long been a fan of the dark, gothic setting of Warhammer Fantasy. (too bad they blew it up)
