Welcome to Tom's Rasmus. I'm am pretty certain there are some players in Sweden; IIRC there are a couple of annual events held in that country. If I can remeber where I saw/read that I will post here.

Hello all.

So I was a subscriber to White Dwarf back in 1999, and fell in love with Mordheim instantly. This was about the time that my hobby time was being eroded by the alternative pursuits of drinking and failing to attract girls, and my Witch Hunters never actually ventured into the ruins.

Twenty years later, I've decided it's time to finally play the game. I've rummaged up some people happy to play; but none of them are interested in actually collecting the models or building any scenery, which has left me in the position of having to build the city and prepare all the warbands. On the plus side, this means I now have plenty to do in quarantine, and it helps with my inability to focus on one project for too long.

I have realised that I never really learnt to paint when I did this as a kid, and I think I never actually finished a model. My fumbling efforts are probably better than what I produced back then, but are a bit embarrassing compared to some of the masterworks I see shared in the forums here.

Thankfully, I have little self control and so have compulsively bought every miniature I've seen that looks like it could fit somewhere in Mordheim for the past few months - there's a pile of lead and plastic in the cupboard for me to practice on.

Painting miniatures is a forgiving craft & one that rewards persistence & patience. Keep at it & you be knocking out gems...playing the games with folks that don't paint themselves means that you will have a group that are in awe of your handiwork.

Welcome Wongwyrd! I'm looking forward to see your Mordheim creations! Don't forget, we all had to start somewhere I've been on this forum since 2007 and just recently finished my first warband 13 years later (this year, haha)... so from personal experience I can say, there is hope!

Oddly enough wongwyrd my situation is similar to yours: fascinated by Mordheim I started collecting bits to build the terrain but did nothing with it for about 10 years. Now I have a complete table and 3 warbands even though my friends were willing to play, none were interested in collecting warbands.

Hello all! I'm a longtime lurker on the forum! I played Warhammer in the mid-1990s and was a bit of a Mordheim nut between 1999 and 2003. I played nearly all of the various original warbands, although the Undead hold a special place in my black, leprous heart.

I drifted away from gaming and painting for nearly two decades until my wife dragooned me into picking up my brushes again. Now, I paint for myself and on a commission basis.

I love Mordheim and paint up gangs (though I never get a chance to play), and I really enjoy the game design and mechanical aspects of the game.

It's a pleasure to finally join!
