| Thanks! That Bard sure is a lovely model! Just a small update... I've magnetised my Swordsmen. Upside down Swordsmen. Now where is that fridge... I've swapped the weapon of this classic model. The old weapon was so bent out of shape that I just couldn't get it right. This plastic sword from the State Troopers kit is a bit different from the rest of the swords in the unit but that only helps to enforce the individual character... Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| This afternoon I had a little time for some hobby related activity... I gave the Imperial Herald a new banner... Now all he needs is a fresh horse (Chiswick, I'm looking at you). And here are a few pics of what's next in line to be painted... A Great Cannon with crew... The Cannon itself with the master gunner... I made a pile of cannon balls on a sled of some sorts. The model is mounted on a 40 mm base. Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| Sometimes inspiration just hits you... This morning, just after a nice breakfast, it hit me! I decided to get my Airship, collect all my tools, plastic rods and a load of other stuff and get some work done on the beast... This is where I left my Airship a couple of months ago... The wings, hull and cockpit were more or less finished. The first thing I added were these anchors... Big, pointy and brutal looking, these things will make sure my Airship won't drift of (imagine one of these crashing through your roof) at the hint of a breeze... I also secured the balloon to the Airship... The chains are from LEGO, these things are absolutely brilliant for this kind of thing, plastic and lightweight! None of the parts (boiler, cockpit, balloon) have been glued yet, but they already fit quite well... The balloon still needs a lot of detailing but you should get the general direction of where this project is going... I still need to add some weaponry (I want this thing to be bristling with guns!) and a crew, but the bulk of the Airship is now finished! Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| And now it's time for another update... I've finished construction and detailing of the Airship. I finished the crew and even made a base. Yesterday I added about 700 rivets to the balloon (thats only the balloon, in total the Airship has about 2000 rivets). In short: the thing is DONE! After I've finsihed this post I'll undercoat it and start painting... First up is a scale shot... Here's a scale shot with the largest plastic model in the Empire range, the Steam Tank (still a wip) and one of the Duelists... As you can see, the Airship is BIG! A close-up shot of the balloon and the base of the crows nest... The base of the Airship... I opted for this approach because is simple, safe and stable... The Airship is simply placed on top of these four supports. Thanks to the balance of the model it doesn't need any glue... I've modelled six crewmembers, mostly plastic. I used several kits: Empire Archers, Helblaster crew, Steam Tank Engineer. The only metal model is from the old Helblaster, he just got a headswap. I wanted the emphasis of the crew and the funtion of the Airship to be reconnaissance. In games I want them to act as spotters for my artillery (like in the American Civil War and WWI). Hence, most of the models have some sort of binoculars. The helmsman... The gunner... One of the spotters... Two of the spotters in the crows nest... And two crew in a slightly crowded cockpit... Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

Looking forward to see this beast painted, obviously! Thanks! In most games I will use the Airship as Steam Tank. In campaing games it will be used as seen, the almighty airforce of The Empire I still have to write some decent rules though... - Quote :

Thanks! The balloon was made from a plastic ball I bought in a hobby shop. It comes (or at least it came) apart in two halves so you could put something inside... - Quote :

It looks awesome. I am so excited to see it painted. Thanks! Close to 2000 in total... The model has been undercoated and the first layers of paint have been applied... I've got a couple of pics of the paint as it is now, just to keep you posted... A wip of the balloon... The first layer of green and the first few layers (Tallarn Flesh and Bleached Bone) as base for the white are done. The basecoat for the crows nest is more or less done, I have to finish the trimming and the banner with flag. The guns will probably be the last to get finished. A wip of the cockpit... For now only Calthan Brown and Boltgun Metal. The metal parts still need some patching up and the instruments need a lot of detail. Just keep in mind it's still very much a work in progress... The Airship itself has been painted in Calthan Brown and Boltgun Metal. It's bigger than I expected (which means a big surface to paint) and it took me quite some time to just give the whole model a basecoat... More updates coming soon! Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| Thanks for the feedback! And now some update! I've found some more time to put some paint on the Airship so here are a few wip's... Just for these pictures I put the model back together, for painting purposes several parts are kept separate. An overview of the entire model... Most of the basic paint is done. The Cockpit... Still needs a lot of detailing but I'm getting close (you have to love Devlan Mud)... The front of the Airship with the boiler... The Engineer looks like he was made to be there. He needs a repaint though as he was painted for my old Empire Army (several years ago, sadly never truly finished). The basket with coal is still optional, but I like it so it might get to stay. The Airship is already very crowded, but with the addition of more crew and more bits like the basket it will become even more chaotic... More updates coming soon! Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| For my Empire army and Mordheim warband I've made custom bases using plasticard. I made a mould of these and can cast them in plaster. Under construction... Every plasticard tile was cut and detailed by hand. Some of the originals just after being retrieved from the mold... Some of the very first casts... Sizes available: Small infantry (20x20mm) Monster (40x40mm) Great for uit fillers! Rank (20x80mm) Double small infantry (20x40mm) A very handy base! Chariot (50x100mm) Cavalry (25x50mm) Artillery (60x80mm) Also useful for big monsters (I based my Giant on one of them) My Empire army is now nearing maximum size so I have bases to spare (and can cast more if you want them). These bases can be supplied in any number desired Hit me with a PM or reply in the trade section if interested. | |

| I've been quite busy painting my Airship and have some results to show you... I've finished two of the crew members, the monkey, the balloon, boiler, cannon and cockpit. The only thing that needs finishing is the bulky hull of the Airship and it's wings... Close, but not yet there. The cockpit is now finished, including the helmsman (who is still separate)... The lens still needs a highlight, but otherwise it's finished. The boiler is also finished, as well as the balloon, but all you get is a litte close-up of one of the details I've added. So small you have to get real close to see it, but very nice nonetheless! The Engineer with the Hochland Longrifle is also finished... Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think. | |
