Thanks, Jim. It always comes as a pleasant surprise for moi when all the elements of a project come together. I'm glad you like it/them. - steve wrote:

Thanks, steve. I appreciate the kind reply; AND I'm delighted you like it. Bright, bold, loud colors have become my thing. I blame it all on my Napoleonic day & imminent senility.

| Holy crap! It all ties together beautifully and I'm glad I got the pleasure of seeing a master craftsman see his project through to the finish!
So now that its done, is there anything you wish you would have done differently or something you would change? How do you feel now that its complete?
(I just realized I'm assuming its completed)

| Thanks for the kind reply, Chief. It's done for the moment. I always seem to go back & add just another little detail to all the terrain...this is the sixth board I've finished since the move to Texas six years ago. I'm delighted you like it. | |

| As always amazing work! The details and characters really make the whole thing come alive. It looks like the little buggers on the Recreational Potion Control Crew are drinking on the job. Someone needs to report them to The Goblin Resources Department before they wind up taking permanent residence in the upper level of the twisted tower. | |

Thanks, Doc...the morale boost is appreciated. The details are really where the enjoyment clicks in for moi...it gets the viewer's interest as well. I'm glad you like it. The Crew claim it's all part of Quality Control. The Guard at the Demon Rum Barrel has the same job description, or so he says.

| SO...The Swamp Thing being a rather short term proposition, I dug up The Blight from the Vault. I modified a building that was going to go with The Twisted Tower AND came up with some new walkway ideas that might carry me through to completing the Beast. Here's how it looks next to The Twisted Tower (there will be a connecting alley way eventually): ...an overhead view: ...& The Blight Itself: ...this may take awhile to wrap up...or not. | |

| I’m loving the Swamp Thing project. The witch’s hovel with the dock and that incredible tree…I can already picture the dank water, plant life and all the creepiness potential. I think those pieces alone already captured a certain “feel” that I hope you keep working on. | |

| I'm still torn as to which tree to use. The one with the Face fits slightly better, but the black & white one is more impressive size wise. If I do it sans the case, I could use both. | |

| Looking back now I see the other tree with the face. Its superb although it was a little difficult to see fully in the picture, but I have to say the one that really caught my eye was the same one Von Kurst did. i guess you're gonna have to use both or better yet make more. Bigger diorama? How about a game board with hags, water effects, creepy plants, lurking beast and of course swamp goblins? Ok, I'll stop now. | |

| Thanks for the kind reply, Doc. I do like making the Trees & another Swamp Board would be fun. The problem is I'm running out of storage space. I have four 2' X 2', a 1' X 2' & a 1 1/2' X 1 1/2 boards finished & a 2' X 2' underway. This is Heep's Place & the Spooky Woods: ...the Woods by Heep's: I really should take some new photos of the boards; re, The Camera of Contrariness has been cooperative of late. | |

| Love that piece. Looks like Heep the hermit found the perfect spot to keep the trespassers away. I’m just getting started on building a board from all the inspiration I see on this forum, not least of which from your creative zeal. I also anticipated the problem of future storage due to limited space. Since I’m planning on using 2x2 pink foam pieces as well I thought about using some 2’ wide hardboard or wood mounted on cheap 12x14’ metal brackets on a wall to create shelves for storage. I’m sure you’ve already incorporated an efficient way of storage but I just thought I’d share my idea. Bottom line DeafNala, I’d hate overcrowding to affect your creative drive. | |

| Thanks, Doc. I'm glad you like it. My finished boards are stored on a 2' X 6' trestle table, & on what was supposed to be a war games table in the back room. The gaming never got off the ground, but the table is a handy storage spot...I could use an aircraft hangar. Lack of storage space has never stopped moi; I just sell or give away the stuff when I need more room....or that's what I did when I was on Long Island. Drop by sometime & I'll give you a board or two. Here's another view of Heep's Place: I added another chimney after this shot. You can see more photos here: https://get.google.com/albumarchive/102888946181624591013/album/AF1QipNHgQsahDtEpJK-Hi-1CJtzETlgY5Qs6qJqjZXMHeep is am entrepreneur. He has a thriving Mushroom Brewery & Tap House next to his Mushroom Cavern & Bat Poop Farm. | |

| Heep’s Place is amazing with all of your usual attention to detail. Looking at the various pics I noticed that the stonework looks more blue/grey than in others. Is that just a lighting effect from the photos or did you add color? Connecting The Blight with the Twisted Tower piece is an excellent idea. The two boards compliment each other very well. Looking forward to seeing the additions and transitions between the two. The new building is starting out great by the way. Is the foam you use for most of your buildings 3/8” or 1/4” fan foam? | |

| Thanks, Doc...glad you like it. With some of the older photos lighting make the colors vary. The walls & most of the floors are 1/4" fan foam with some of the floors 3/8". The roofs are 3/8"...I use 1/8" also, but not on these so far. | |

| I am far behind on the updates, but they all look wonderful. Go building #4!
My place is overflowing with half finished projects, I trashed efficient storage for chaotic clutter years ago.

| Thanks, Jim. I'm getting more enthusiastic as I go along. In addition to the buildings, I have some Gangs shaping up. AND, when we went into Bee Cave, I sprang for another, larger display case for The Swamp Thing. The extent of organization here is shifting things around to make a space for the next thingy. I freed up enough for a couple more boards. | |
