The Gangs of Maudeheim, Part I 01/06/19

After putzing around with some new Mushrooms:


I finally started painting the Faerie Folk...well, the Hovering Fellow's Mushroom got some attention:

ADDENDUM: I have the first of the bases fashioned & sanded. This gives me a chance to show you what is under the paint & static grass:

Periodically I do a G.W. Gnoblar & Night Goblin mix for a particularly weeedy Goblin, one destined for a life of menial labor:




...these unfortunates usually get names like Beastly Burden. This one may get his own base or get stuck with some oppressively large Fellow...time will tell.  

So much creepiness! You are moving right along. I am envious of your pace.

I looked at some projects this morning. Confirming that they haven't advanced from last week or last year is important to me.

Thanks, Jim. If you had as much time to devote to the craft as I do, those projects would be done along with ones you've only imagined.

That middle mushroom looks quite grumpy!

I don't think he likes the company he finds him self in...or he is just a grump.

...I'm as restless as a willow in a windstorm; I'm as jumpy as a puppeton a string. I'd say that I had Spring Fever but I finished fleshing out the Faerie Goblins AND finished one. These are the ones fleshed out:

I haven't quite worked out how I'm going to treat the Fly Boys. I figured they could be a "count as" for some fast moving types, but what is still a question. Suggestions on this would be welcome; I don't get to play so working within the rules can be problematic for me.

Despite all the sighing & staring into space that Spring Fever requires, I did finish a Faerie Fellow & all the Faerie Wings.

Not getting much time at a computer lately (and the public computers at work can no longer be used to log in on Tom's). Good to catch up though, love the new shrooms.

Me too! The colours are brighter than what I'm used to, but hey, I figure you paint that way for longer than I am in the hobby

I actually blame my preference for bright colors on all the colorful historical miniatures I did when I first started gaming; I'm sure I've said this before, but Old Men have a habit of repeating themselves...it's a tradition thing. I think I am so fond of your approach because it is different than my own.

Thanks, Codsticker...glad you like them. The reeds are sisal rope (from Michael's) that I unwind & glue in clumps. It is a nice easy effect to achieve; AND a good way to hide the supporting wire.
