| Thank you.
I'm experimenting with plastic rod to see if it is more durable.
I think the dye operation is an excellent suggestion. At the moment any clutter on the roof is there to provide a handle for removing the roof as much as anything.

| Plastic rod is more durable than balsa, for sure
But (and I'm not certain whether this is for all plastic rod manufacturers) all plastic rod I've been able to buy here in Belgium is a pain in as far as making paint stick to it. Easy solution (but an unpleasant chore to do) is to gently score the surface with sandpaper.
Very cool buildings all around, and it looks very cool in your in-game pictures, even if the buildings aren't finished yet.
Might just have to do a single building to include in Porto Pulpo too...
And I am with DeafNala on the 'go-with-the-flow' approach, I start with an interesting bit (like the pyramid-like cookie-container) and then things just start to happen and in the end all of a sudden I've got myself a piece of scenery, even though sometimes it makes a chimney pop up just above a window...

I have not encountered that problem in the states. Yet. I do prime all of my projects with aerosol spray before painting. Another shot from a recent game with mostly complete buildings. (More may be seen in the campaign diary found in the Battle Reports and Fluff section.)

| The WONDERFUL scenery is the principal reason I'm delighted the Arabian Campaign is without a definite end. The action photos are something to look forward to; AND the Tales are a DELIGHT. GREAT WORK! | |

| Lovely, great shot of your gaming table, those alleys and buildings remind me of the indiana jones movie were they get chased and end in the back of a truck.., thumbs up! _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! | Those are great camels! We have a lost camel random event (which no one has rolled this campaign...) - Random Encounters wrote:
- 41 Loose Camel
A camel has escaped from a caravan! The frightened beast is rampaging through the streets trampling citizens and wrecking merchant's stalls.
The animal has the equivalent of 1D3+1 Cargo crates strapped to its back. The camel is placed as detailed above. Once placed it will run 3D6" on to the board. It will trample any models it encounters, but it will not enter buildings. Any model touched by the path of the camel may leap aside if it passes an Initiative test. If the test is failed the model takes D3 S4 hits. The camel is not considered in melee combat with any model it tramples. It is merely trying to escape back to the desert. The camel will continue to move 3D6" in each subsequent turn after it appears, although it will move in a randomly chosen direction if confronted by a building or other impassable obstacle. The camel may be shot or charged as normal, or a warband member (that is not also an animal) may attempt to capture the animal by moving adjacent to it and rolling a 4+ on a D6. If the camel is OoA or captured, a warband may claim the crates. The warband must lead the camel (or carry the crates) off the board or keep one model within 3” of the crates for the remainder of the game, without routing. If the crates are in your warband’s possession at the end of the game, you may open any number of them. The camel may be sold for 30gc or kept and ridden.
I have a camel train made up of these Foundry camels from their Indian Mutiny range (camel artillery) with baggage from Foundry's Darkest Africa.

| The extended Arabian Adventures are yielding more that just exciting Battle Reports. The two new creations are BEAUTIES with an exotic Thousand & One Tales feel & the wonderfully games friendly flat roofs. I love the wooden extension & all the arched doorways, tunnels & windows. Your color choices & brushwork are OUTSTANDING. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Thank you theomar. I'm still playing around with mashrabiya. I built a second version and attached it to the previously nearly completed building. Interior view. Front view. Naturally the new one needs painting. The original mashrabiya will be used on what I call the courtyard building. I just need to build a new set of support brackets for it. | |

| Another building nears completion-- The old mashrabiya on a different building... The roof wouldn't line up. Roofs removed to reveal the unfinished interior... Comments and suggestions welcomed. | |

The mashrabiya is a little work of art.
