| About twelve years ago I started some ruined buildings for a Khemri campaign. I sold some and kept modifying the others. This week I tried to get one done. Almost there...

| Oh, that looks fantastic, one can almost hear the roars of camels and the playing of a snakecharmer´s flute, great. Best Part in my opinion are those windowframes on the first level, very authentic. thumbs up! _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! Bobby! | Wow that look great! Just this week I thought about making some desert-themed scenery for EIF or BTB, so this is some good inspiration! Do show us a little more! | |

| Beautiful design and fantastic execution! I hope one day I can get a properly sizes room to start building an arabyan themed board with similar terrain.

| By the Beard of the Prophet that is a MAGNIFICENT structure! You really captured the Arabian Night Mystique with this one. GREAT WORK! As far as having Projects that remain unfinished & unloved occupying some dark & dusty corner, I only escaped that oft times unhappy state when I moved down here to Texas & was forced to leave much of my Eternally-Work-In-Progress Pieces behind...they are missed. | |

| Thank you all. A view of the ruined side of the building (upper left building) as seen in Al-Haikk's Thieves Quarter: The ladder is temporary (and belongs to playtable). I'm still not happy with the ruined door, but I might live with it like this for a couple of years. @Deafnala--I've moved into successively smaller places in the last 15 yrs, so I've had to cull a bit of inventory myself. | |

| In addition to looking GREAT, it appears to be a WONDERFULLY games worthy piece. Is the piece in foreground also one of your creations? | |

| No not mine. The building in the foreground is one of playtable's internet acquisitions. | |

As long as one of The Jims owns it, it is COOL nonetheless.

| Very impressive buildings. Love the archways. I really like the 2nd building. As for small spaces, i live like an apartment the size to a walk like closet. My spacefor my terrain like very small. My projects less and less. | |

| Thanks for the compliments on the buildings. I feel your pain about the living arrangements, brother. So to add to the clutter I live amdist, I started working on other projects instead of finishing the first one. Current progress: A small building, cargo and merchandise for the market square and the docks, a merchant's stand and I finished the roof on the adobe on my right (yours too I hope). Trees and dead donkey are playtable's as is the photo studio in his living room. A close-up of the Merchant's stall. Naturally I waited til this evening to prop it out. The buildings rotate but the street scene doesn't change... Vermin in the mealy bags! A view of the old tower I cut up to make the new house, I figure I can get another small house out of that tower. | |

The walls look like the real thing! How did you make them?

| At the least, what you've added to the clutter is VERY COOL & IMAGINATIVE! All your creations are BEAUTIFULLY made & WONDERFULLY painted...the aged, yellowed coloration is both realistic & lovely. By The Prophet, that's VERY WELL DONE! Keep adding to the clutter; it makes your apartment an interesting place to visit/live in. | |

Each building is done differently. The large building was coated with spackle, not sure what you call it across the pond... Filler? Anyway, spackled then primed black. Then I sprayed it with Krylon's Make it Stone texture paint. That was the quick part. A decade or so went by so it acquired scrapes, dings and dents. I didn't like the look anymore, so I cut some parts off and added some new parts made of foamcore. I discovered that I could cut the spackled and textured surface off of the scraps, sand it, then glue it back on over the foamcore. This process makes some very realistic cracked plaster, but was very fiddly, not to mention expensive if you set out to do it as a process rather than discover a use for a pile of scrap. The old tower that became the new small house was rescued from the trash of a game store going out of business. It is foamcore covered with newspaper and small brick shapes made of thin card. These layers were covered with an uneven layer of spackle. Then the poor tower was dropped, kicked and occassionally stepped on for several years until I cut off the base for my house. I sprayed an uneven layer of Make it Stone over that. I made the exposed brick by peeling off some of the card and newspaper then masking the areas with tape. The medium sized building is mostly white packing foam with a foamcore stair case and roof. I sealed the foam with my new favorite material, elastomeric roof coating. This stuff is like a thick paint, but for sealing flat roofs. I primed that and painted it. It doesn't look that different from the other buildings. - Quote :

Except when a rickety pile of boxes gives way.

Except when a rickety pile of boxes gives way. From a truly cluttered living space you gain an insight into how Ancient Civilizations get buried.

| Thank you Theomar. I am so not a fan of grey although it is a staple of northern climes. Another photo (when I first posted I only had 4 choices of images, now I have around 50...) Fun with lighting. | |

| You must have captured the Arabian feel; I have the theme from Lawrence of Arabia playing through my head. The new photos are INSPIRING! They motivated moi to get some work done on Maudeheim & some preliminary things for the Spooky Forest.... SO, a VERY WELL DONE to you! | |
