| Thanks for those links guys! DeafNala, I will check those at home since my works' firewall is blocking those sites. JoaoS, thanks! I had checked their site... who would've known they'd hide the goats under 'religious' My next building is currently being built : a square house, to provide a counterweight to the twisted asymetrical build of the Salty Dog Up until now I have maneged to remember taking piccies every single step. Now just find the time to upload them to a PC, process them, host them on the interwebs and provide them with an explanatory text. The general idea is to try to give you guys an insight into my inspirational process, the phases from concept to a finished build, experimenting with new techniques/materials, possible errors along the way and how I dealt with them, changes of mind etc. All in all a pretty time-consuming process, specifically time I could've spent building/painting stuff Stay tuned for updates, same bat-time, same bat-forum | |

So, I hope the step-by-step was what you expected? In the meantime, I've finally found the time to finish painting my square house! And a close-up of the Widow's Walk I'm really fond on how the wrinkeled newspaper turned out... I think I have a keeper there! Whilst I was awaiting for specific layers to dry up, I painted this little bit of scenery which won't look astray in a pirates prot, it even might play an active role in one or another specific scenario... Hope you guys like what you see!

| Your brushwork has brought he place to as FINE a conclusion as could possibly be hoped for... TERRIFIC choice of colors. AND The Orc Artiste & Jolly Boat are COOL... GREAT paint jobs &, in the case of the Artiste, basing; you managed a subdued palette without being dull. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Thanks for the kind comments! As for the Orc, I usually put a 28mm fig somewhere in my scenery pictures, to provide a sense of scale, but I was getting tired of always having to open my fig-transport-bags for a size-comparison, so now I have a fig whose sole reason of existance is posing for the scale. It also allowed me to do something entirely diferent from all other Orc/Ork figs around. His name is Barry by the way Getting the colours right was indeed a chore, as I wanted them to tie together as much as possible, but still be different for wood, stone and plastering. To get that effect, I used Bestial Brown (no idea of the current name) mixed in in each and every colour, shade and highlight I applied to the house. It ties everything together quite nicely. | |

That's a clever idea, I need to rememeber that for some of my future projects! The house turned out really well, and I like how the top of the roof is flat; it offers a load of gaming potential!

| Thanks!
The flat roof is indeed an added bonus for long rifle-toting figs!
As for the painting, what I did was first cover up the whole fig in a basecoat of Bestial Brown over the Chaos Black primer. Then small amounts (I do need to stress the 'small' part there) of Bestial mixed in in each colour/colour mix. Too much and you alter the colour too much.

| Steal away!
After all, isn't that what Mordheims' all about?
I tried to stick to a general form, but altering both stalls enough to make them individual (other width of planks, ...)

Do you have a board to display all of these great creations of yours?

| Not yet, not yet
Doing a board is part of the project... A part I am afraid of, to be honest.
I have zero woodcraft skills, but I would like to make a kind of suitcase which, when opened, gives me a 4x4 board, including a dock with water onto which I can plonk down all of my scenery. A portable gaming table as it were. I've never even been able to finish drawing it out...

| The Shops are FINE examples of the unconquerable entrepreneurial spirit;i.e., Greed will win over all. They'd look TERRIFIC with just about any Mordheim setting...especially one of the shanty towns that surround the city. They, the SPLENDID canoe, & Bill the OH-SO-COOL Butcher are BEAUTIFULLY modeled & painted! VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Thanks for the feedback! I realised it's been ages since I added any posters to my builds, so I decided to embellish my stalls a bit further : And this time around, my newest addition is not scratshbuilt, it's the 'Ramshackle Barn' from Renedra, and even though it is only slightly unkempt, not ramshackle at all, I do like it a lot. Next to no cleaning needed, supersimple fits, easy to glue, and full of nice little details... And, of course, the roof is detachable : | |

| The New Addition is a SPLENDID piece... VERY NICE brushwork. Renedra make some fine looking models & you made the most of this one. Posters are terrific for adding a touch of personality to a building or whatever you stick them on. They're perfect accessories for the Merchants' Stalls. GREAT WORK! The timing on the posters was also perfect. I had bit of left over Green Stuff & nothing much to do with it...Voila Posters! | |
