| SO, in january I finally started making my own pirate-themed table. I started off small, with a couple of walls, simple, just to get things rolling (cardboard covered with milliput) Once I was comfortable, having seen the finished product, I made a pillory from coffe-stirrers Here are both the new creations, together with a couple of scenery bits that are compatible with the pirate-theme and which I already had made Next up were a couple of extra cannos : With a 28mm fig for size-comparison And then I made a couple of extra walls (mainly because linear cover is handy on battlefields) And a couple of longer walls Here you can see all three sizes of walls, again with a 28mm fig Next up was a small little house (from the GWS watchtower sprues) I added a fishing-net to tie it in with the pirate-theme And once again with a 28mm fig After that, it was time for a little bit of fun : A statue of Dull Gret And, depending on wether he's a bit of scenery or a playable fig, a keg with a powder monkey on top, or a powder monkey on a keg Enough small stuff finished, I finally psyched myself up for something bigger : the GWS guard tower, with added fishnets, and added floors to make every level playable Maybe you've already noticed, but I like cannons, I really do... here's two more : Size-comparison, from left to right : Black Scorpion, Thomarillion and Redoubt Enterprises Hang down your head, Tom Dooley Hang down your head and cry Hang down your head, Tom Dooley Poor boy, you're bound to die ... A better overall view : And full of 28mm figs, to show you it's playability, even on the stairs A couple of big cargo-cases And a skull-rock (every pirate harbour needs a skull rock... Their size? Next up, a house from CT-Scenery Without the first floor : And finally we've come to the latest additions : I've discovered 4ground and bought quite a bit of their cheap wooden scenery : A cart : The rest of my purchases have been glued, but still need paint Another cart and a small cabin : The interior of the cabin brings a sorely needed (and often lacking) facility to my gaming board : Another house : Oh, and almost forgot, bought some prepainted stuff from Fantasy Geleande too, which will fit right in, without any doubt : And that's all for now folks, hope you enjoyed reading, and I'll update when I've advanced on my little project | |

| Very Nice! I must say i really like what you've done with the GW tower, as i've never really thought how tall it was and if you could add floors... Also, what country do you live in may i ask? Because some of the bought terrain is quite nice. But YOURS is fantastic! I really like the gallows! Keep up the work and i can't wait to see the board itself. | |

| I am from Belgium Good point by the way, I've just updated my profile with my location. If you're interested in knowing the url of the sites from which I have bought terrain, kjust let me know, I'll dig them up. And I'm glad you like the gallows... they took a lot of time, a lot of coffee stirrers and a lot of painting time(I was too lazy to carve the woodnerves into the stirrers, so I painted them on...) | |

| Thanks for the nice comments! To be honest, real life has gotten in the way of the hobby these last two months, and I needed an incentive to get the ball rolling/brushes brushing again. Your appreciations do give me a motivational burst! Especially when I see all of the other very, very cool terrains here. The board itself will be the longest-term project... I want to make a collapsible and portable gaming board, but have absolutely no experience in woodcraft whatsoever. That means I'll have to think things through, which isn't exactly my strongest point At the moment the main goal is to get as much terrain as possible done in order to turn any gaming table into a piratey gaming table. I've played a game of Legends of the High Seas recently, where I used my scenery, I'll make sure to take some time to download those pictures from my digicam and process them | |

| hey Quase, nice to see you here to! I just went to the site of 4ground and they got some really cool stuff. Did you buy the market place to? The only problem I see is with the height of the buildings. it looks like it's just to narrow for convenient wargaming :s howmuch room is there between the floors? your stuff looks just as great here as on Thunderbolts | |

| Nope, I haven't bought the marketplace, as it wasn't available at the convention (all the rest was bought at our converntion by the way)
If I remember, and find the time for it, I'll take some size-piccies using 28mm figs for the buildings. Personally, I like them, as I want as much as possible to have different building-styles in my harbour

| As I promised, A couple of pictures from a Legens of the High Seas game, where I used my scenery to turn a snow-covered table into a Pirate table. If anything, these pictures show that I still haven't got enough scenery... not by a long shot | |

| Arrrr It's update time! I've finished a couple of extra (albeit small) items for my future table. First off (because you can never ever have enough of them on a pirate-table) some more cannons (with a pirate 28mm pin-up for size comparison) On the left, GWS Empire Cannon, on the right, no idea whatsoever on the manufacturer, found the bits in a ginourmous bitz-grab-box on a fig fair. Next, a cart for transporting da rum The barrel comes from the GWS Empire Cannon sprue, with an old-school Night Gobbo shield. The cart itself is from 4Ground. And another scenery piece from 4Ground : an outhouse (with a poster made by Arcuballis) The inside : And last, but not least, a fountain, made from a choclate-paste-pot lid, a Leman Russ Battle Cannon, some 40K Chaos gun-muzzles, an old school Night Gobbo shield, a bit from the Mordheim building sprues, Milliput and iron wire...

| Thanks! The fountain was work-intensive, especially the water, but I'm already planning the next one In the meantime, I finished painting the 4Ground building Which I covered up with posters found around the net (on this site and cianty's amongst others) - Captain Bernhardt wrote:

| Excellent stuff! While it is correct that you will need more pieces, you're off too a great start! Well-painted and characterful. Some kind of cobblestone ground would be nice to the pieces on. | |

| Thanks! When I've finally tackled the problem of how exactly I will be making a foldable, portable sea-port-table, I'll look into how to give that table cobblestones Until then, I'll content myself with the making of scenery pieces | |

Enjoy with you (SOOOO) cool stuff man ! Thanks! I already downloaded that, printed in colours and put in plastic sleeves from the moment I started collecting Pirates In the meantime, I've just finished another small piece of scenery (inspired by Captain Bernhardt who, in turn, got his inspiration from Boreas_NL) : a post-office

| Yes, she is. And I will be using the Mercator fig from the latest Crisis : since I have an all female pirate crew, they do need a navigator, or they'll never ever be able to find that treasure island, even with a detailed map | |
