| There was once a Blood Bowl star player - Hack Enslash - who went for £206 on eBay. Three months later GW rereleased him for £6 or so. Others were Ramtut and Zara, but then they were rereleased a couple of months ago. | |

Others were Ramtut and Zara, but then they were rereleased a couple of months ago. Ouch that's got to hurt ! I clean forgot the fact BB had a lot of unreleased and event items If GW had any sense they would re-release all ranges of miniatures and make a killing on marked up prices. Who knows it may turn out they reproduce past metal lines in plastic when they have the fabrication process mastered. Did you ever see the metal versions of the Phil Lewis chaos all star team ? They went on ebay for an obscene amount individually. - Kafka

| Heh. Those were killer. A private company released those again a few years ago for close to £15 per figure. They sold the entire supply quite quickly iirc. You never know what will be the next big thing I guess. All the more reason to hoard things. | |

Any idea who it was and why GW didn't sue them into next millenium ? With a few investors and a bit of time it would be pretty easy .. not to mention illegal ! - Quote :

Agreed, when GW switch to 100% plastic prepare to be paying a load more because GW as a "proper" miniatures company will be dead - Kafka

It was BBfigs, an offshoot of Impact miniatures. Iirc the miniatures were given as a gift to anyone attending the Chaos Cup in the States - the only GW held tournament in the US I think (don't quote me though). I don't know the ins-and-outs of the deal but they were able to sell them through their website. I heard that all profits from those sales went to GW. This may not be true though. Most of this came from reading internet discussions so it's not exactly reliable info.

| Timbered Tavern, Shop and House going in a day or so. There's a few unlisted architecture pieces - the doors for one - which have been used. Decent standard though and would look good on any table - Kafka | |

Expensive .... the mini's included are pretty much all available either through GW or have a high availability on ebay at pretty low prices if you have the time to trawl. It's not often a lot this size appears and although everything is mint condition and in the blisters; a regular collector / player wouldn't pay the additional premium for packaging - at least i wouldn't ! - Kafka

| I wouldnt mind having such a big lot to bulk up my collection with, but jumped off at the 300 $ marker, as the only mini I would consider even slightly rare was the auger. I wonder if the seller bought this in a store not too long ago, as he seems to be an exchange student leaving australia this semesterm, maybe at a heavy discount.

The Augur is sought after but i wouldn't consider it a rare as it usually goes from £8 - £30 depending on activity. There's been about 20 the last few months on ebay and seems to be no shortage. Pick one up soon though because the price won't be going down ! There's a few people here have one for trade / sale though - Kafka

Tony is a well known collector with original mini's - ive purchased several pieces through him and all are original. In fact he's the one who supplied the picture of the mutant for Wiki (amongst others) which you probably referenced in the first place to check To further back up the authenticity of the mini - i spoke to him about the mutant a few months ago and got this reply : - Quote :
- Hi. No problem but I am afraid I can't help very much. As I recall, I picked this up from a former GW staff member - I suspect it may have been Chris Fitzpatrick but I am not sure. I believe it was done around 2002-2004 when Fanatic was in full swing and all sorts of new figures were being designed, many of which never got to see release when GW pulled the plug on Fanatic around late 2004. I hope that helps. Regards. Tony
- tonymans Marek has the same mini in clicky-clicky thread. Just don't bump up the biddings along with the rest of the idiots who want to be top bidder for a day... On a side note did anyone else see the Halfling Pimp the other day from a Spanish seller? Only went for £74 ! Seems the Death on the Reik and WHFRP scenario minis are getting serious money at the moment - several examples selling for more than the halfling pimp on the same day. - Kafka

| Superb thread. That 2nd sheep sold for silly money as well!
Kafka, I was surprised you announced the sale of that Halfling Pimp as 'only' 74 quid. When Cianty sent me a link to the finished auction I was immediately depressed that such a cool sculpt won't be appearing in my collection!
You sound very knowledgeable of collecting Citadels. I've occasionally broken my piggy bank to purchase rare items for use playing Mordheim! The Pimp in particular seems ideally suited to the Marienburg campaign for which I've been collecting and painting up a few of the old Citadel releases.
Regards,
Werekin. | |

Same seller with the halfling pimp had the "Ratter" dog from the citadel citizens range which ended up going for £44 ... 2 of his WHFRP minis from the 80's went for £70 odd a pop which is why i say "only" £74 for the pimp The WHFRP mini's weren't even that nice If i wasn't set on a few other auctions i would have put a bid down on the pimp. Other prices of rare stuff recently are the Scavvy King from Necromunda, which went for £120 odd the other week. Spyrer Patriarch about £50 odds and there's the unreleased beastmen with a penis on his head here. Currently £85 and no doubt going to rise if the two idiots placing down bids continue Not that i care because i won't be and it'll mean more cash for the seller. In my opinion the Halfling is worth more than any of these simply because it's a nicer piece and has more use to me, but people have different reasons for buying OOP's or unreleased. I recently paid what could be deemed too much for 2 blisters of Averlanders but i wouldn't even trade them for that pimp ! Different people different reasons - Quote :

Don't be fooled *laughs* I've just been collecting since '89 and keep an eye on ebay from time to time - Quote :

Never know, it might come up again soon. The guy selling the mutant, patriarch and beastman also has the pimp in his collection which looks like is being thinned .... Cheers - Kafka
