| Thanks for your comments! Allright, so two new figures finished. First is yet another ordinary dwarf: No conversions on this one. Simply one cool old Citadel fig that I finally managed to get painted. Second is noble to lead the warband: This one took quite a bit longer to finish than I had planned, and many frustrated hours were spent both converting and painting it. Biggest conversions were changing his weapon and adding shield, but some smaller things had to be done too as I really hoped to make it somewhat unique and not looking like "straight out of the box". I'm happy how this figure ended up, excluding just one thing that keeps bugging me: his hair. I'm not sure if I should had leave it completely off (it's made of green stuff) or paint it brown, like part of the cloak. Oh well, it's too late to change anymore. All comments and critics are most welcome as always.

| Three more TRULY GREAT MINIS...I somehow missed the "Worried Dwarf with Map." The unifying thing with the Lads is the WONDERFUL way your painting brings out their expressive faces. The color choices work SO WELLL with the minis...I LOVE the gray beard; going brown would be too much with the brown fur cape. The check pattern on the pistoleer is BEAUTIFULLY done...another old favorite. The time you put into the last Guy was WELL WORTH it. He's unique with a definite personality all his own. The combination of straight colors & metals on axe looks TERRIFIC. VERY, VERY WELL DONE...INSPIRING STUFF! If your looking to expand your Dwarf Collection check out Olley's Armies Dwarf World minis. They're still available through Armor Cast: http://armorcast.com/store/index.php?cPath=116_138&osCsid=4bfaa226639e064fcc510cc8f4658047 . Bob Olley did most of the OH-SO-COOL old Citadel Dwarves. | |

| Thanks to both of you! Feels great to receive such encouraging feedback. I'm a bit perfectionist about my own painting, and can't never be completely satisfied with the results. About until halfway finishing I'm pleased, but looking at the finished figure gives me feeling that I could had done this and that another way. - DeafNala wrote:

I really do my best to paint their faces as well as I can. Old figures are wholly sculpted fantastically, but I think it's the faces that really make the big difference betweeen old and new stuff. Thanks a lot for the link! I'm always looking to expand this warband. I had wondered where those figures had gone! Never had a chance to buy them from Olley as I didn't have paypal account at the time.

We are DEFINITELY on the same page with this one. Although I don't think of myself as a perfectionist, I've never felt my minis reach the level of "perfection" my expectations would have for them. This is, however a motivator to improve; SO I guess it's a healthy feeling. - sianpää wrote:

I still don't have PayPal or credit cards; having Armor Cast take over production of the Dwarf World allows me to FINALLY get some of Olley's goodness...when I can pull off a bank job for the $S. Now if only someone I could order from would take over his Squats/ Dwarves In Space...

My feelings exactly. As long as this leads to trying harder and learning new tricks to improve it's a good thing IMO. And about paypal I got to mention that I got myself account about 1½ years ago, until that I had just drooled for all the cool figures I could not get my hands on. First thing I did was buy those lovely old figures for Talisman boardgame. Man, how long had I hoped to own them. Hopefully I'll get enough courage to paint them someday.

| Small update, but I guess this is better than nothing. This figure is from Heartbreaker. Fits nicely with other dwarves, though shoulder pads are looking a bit weird. Also first time I tried to paint red beard on any of my dwarves. And then something else. I needed a break from painting beards, and this is the result:

| VERY COOL! I was pleasantly surprised to see that Heartbreaker is still around. I rather like the shoulder armor on the Vertically Challenged One; the red beard turned out VERY NICELY...fits his personality to boot. OF COURSE, the Goblin is THE BEST! AND another Old Favorite. You did an EXCELLENT job bringing the Short Greeny to life. Both VERY WELL DONE & QUITE INSPIRING! | |

| Thanks for commenting DeafNala. I had to do some detective work to find where to buy Heartbreaker's figures. Sadly it seems that not all of them are anymore available. If I remember correct, RalPartha used to carry that line at some point, but not anymore? | |

You got me thinking about where I saw the Heart Breaker stuff. After a brief search I found the listed by Noble Knight: http://www.nobleknight.com/ViewProdLine.asp_Q_ManufacturerID_E_200_A_CategoryID_E_5_A_GenreID_E_0 . From what I have heard Noble Knight is a nice outfit with whom to deal.

| Thanks to both of you for your kind comments. Kapitan_Hak: Haha, now that you mentioned they share some resemblance. Cool pic btw. So my order for Noble Knight arrived today. I'll try to find time to paint some of them...in some distant future.. As I mentioned previously, I'm trying to get 30 figures painted this year. I'm a bit behind the "schedule", so I decided to paint some smaller, easier and faster to paint figures. Yeah, self-deception is sweetest of them all. So I present you first of my (at least) two halfling thieves. This one is originally from Black Tree Design and a bit smaller, especially around the waist, when compared to it's colleagues made by Citadel. Second figure painted is another old dwarf with some small conversions.

| Those are both SO COOL! I LOVE the Dwarf Bomber...did you add the cigar? The Halfling is an EXCELLENT little piece; they don't all have to be gluttonous psychos to fit into Mordheim . I really like your choice of colors. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Thanks DeafNala. Glad to hear your comments. Cigar was there already. I only converted fuses for bomb and tnt. I had no idea what those things in the backpack were, but tnt seemed suitable. Sadly I painted upper part of clothes (what is that thing called? Hood?) red and that tnt is not showing very well. Also made flame from green stuff, as it would be rather stupid to throw a bomb without lighting the fuse. - DeafNala wrote:

I don't think there could possibly be any more descriptive words for halflings that venture into Mordheim! But you are right, even the starving ones deserve to be called halflings.

| YET MORE UBERCOOL STUFF! Both are really EXCELLENT minis AND I've seen neither of them prior to your post. They both fit so very well with the Mordheim feel. GREAT WORK as always ! BTW have you seen the new Bronze Age Dwarfs? http://www.bronzeagemin.com/miniatures_html/25MM/FANTASY/dwarves/Dwarves.htmI picked up a set; they are cool & about the same size as the old Citadel...more or less. | |

| Thanks for commenting DeafNala, I really appreciate your opinion and am really happy that you like them! Sadly it seems that Bronze Age is not selling their old dwarves anymore. Should had bought them when I had a chance! Still, those new dwarves are looking pretty sweet too. If I can find european retailer I'm probably gonna buy some of them. | |

| Man, I forgot to check your thread. That's a whole bunch of fantastic new minis. I hope you're not abandoning the dwarves, but I have to say that your halflings look really good. It's good to see that you're taking your excellent technique to new vistas.
Still, the bomber dwarf is wonderful!!

| NEWS FLASH: Bronze Age has some more new Dwaves: a Dwarven King & some Dwarf Harem Girls...all VERY COOL! AND, until Dec. 11t th everything will be at 30% off. The minis are supposedly available from Miniaturicum in Germany. http://www.miniaturicum.de/ I inquired if Bronze Age did international orders; this was the reply: - Broze Age Miniatures wrote:
- Al,
Thank you. Yes I do foreign orders. If the order isn’t too big the shipping is $13.45. This is for a box about the size of the old VHS hard boxes. Here is a link to the USPS. http://ircalc.usps.gov/MailServices.aspx?country=10440&m=13&p=0&o=1&mt=13.
I always try to list the customs within the $12.50 to $20.00 range so you don’t get hit hard on customs.
David I've found dealing with David to be a real pleasure. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

| Thanks folketsfiende. Actually I'm buying more dwarves all the time and won't probably ever get them all painted. So no worries that I would abandon the bearded ones. Though got to admit that at one point I was going to buy some empire boxes to make a complete plastic warband with lots of conversions. Even glued together the captain of this warband. But then, mostly because the lack of details made me change my mind. But I'm still going to paint more hired swords, at least more halflings (cooks) and ogres are coming when I found inspiration to paint them. Deafnala: This thanking is getting ridiculous, but still I got to thank you for all the trouble! You are very kind chap. I had never heard of miniaturicum, but seems like I'll have to make an order from them. And about dwarf harem girls...well, those are quite something. Finally some new dwarves. Note the heroic pose of second dwarf. I have also replaced most of the old photos with new, more sharper ones that are not as blurry as the old ones were. | |
