| Maybe adding a dark brown wash (army painter strong tone perhaps) could give the stones and walls of the board more depth and a darker dirtier mood. | |

| Thanks for the feedback! Great to hear you liked the new addition... - Quote :
- Wooohhhh!!
I see what you did there... looks great! those shields are a great addition! it matches the whole table's mood! But I think that what I like the most, is that you made the fence so that you can use it anywhere in the gaming table, you can use it to surround a building, or an specific zone and anywhere you decide to put it the fence still matches the environment!
nicely done mate!
Spot on! It's my intention to build a few of these pieces to scatter around the open areas of the board or place them around a building. they break up lines of sight and create paths on an otherwise flat surface... I've tried this one on a number of locations and it doesn't look out of place anywhere. - Quote :
- i like the use of the old heroquest tomb. how much does this set wheigh? it looks heavy!
The tomb is not that heavy. It's all plaster, even the lid (it's a cast from a mold I made myself). I think it wheighs something around a 100 grammes... I agree the walls (and the rest of the board) look pretty clean (partly because that's my style). However, some wheathering might be in order but I want to postpone the wheathering until I figured out a way to do the entire board... Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think!

Sorry mate, I already have a girlfriend, and a wife... But as soon as there is an opening I'll drop you a line Prepare to hate me even more... Tiny update, but something I'm quite happy about. From left to right: Complete lantern from one of the Citadel scenery kits (I think the Chapel), adapted lantern and master for the mold and finally the first cast from said mold... I intend to replicate the arm with some plastic bits and mount them on buildings and walls. A pic of an assembled lantern should be expected later today... Tiny details taken from a 40K building panel (Cities of Death terrain). These are also casts from a mold I made... Intended to further detail my buildings... Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think!

| As promised (and a lot quicker than I expected), a few pics of a finished lantern... Three sizes of plastic tubing and a few strips of plasticard... Simple but I quite like it! I couldn't resist... I just had to put it on a building to see how it looks... Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think! | |

I've been working with plastic bits like the lantern, griffons, and various windows from the Citadel scenery kits - but your homemade lantern looks much better than the original.
Add to that the fact that you seem to have a wife AND a girlfriend (something my own wife won't tolerate) and I turn green with envy...
...or Wyrdstone consumption (I hear both will turn you green).

| Looks great! Those extra little details just keep stacking up on your stuff One suggestion I have..the lantern looks like it needs to be mounted a bit higher up on the frame. Right now it would be about face level when you open the door. | |

Yes, that's what one of my friends said when he saw them... I've removed the lantern and shifted it a bit higher, it looks better. Thanks for the suggestion!

| Tiny update, a sneak preview and a bit of a puzzle... The Citadel scenery comes with a load of interesting bits. Most of them I haven't found a purpose for, but this should work... Added a bit of extra detail... It's going to be one posh lantern! An old building after a (nearly) complete overhaul... This one is going through it's third update! Added a full storey, many balconies and some details. Still need to add some wall sections, windows (and shutters) and railings for the many balconies but that has to wait until I get some fresh balsa... Expect new (and more detailed) pics as soon as it's finished. And a bit of a puzzle for you guys... I also made a new mold this afternoon from the bit I cut out from this wall section (Citadel Watchtower). Who knows what's missing? First one with the correct answer gets a prize Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think. | |

| PAINT!
Seriously, I don't know because I have found the GW terrain lacking playability so I never purchased it. I like all the bits that you have used, though. And, given that you can mold walls and bits, maybe it is worth giving the sets a second look.

I only purchased a few sets for the statues (four chapels to be precise). The rest of the kits went unused as I make my own buildings. Some of the smaller bits are most usefull though...

| ooh! you cut out the sign of the twin tailed comet! nice! Also I love your idea to add shields to the fences! it makes them dull fences so much more interesting!
and a little question: howmuch time do you spend on building and painting your gaming table?

- and a little question: howmuch time do you spend on building and painting your gaming table?
I started almost a year ago, july 15th to be precise, (for a complete overview check my Warseer thread, link is in my signature). From the very start the project snowballed out of control... The first plan was to build a few ruins but it quickly became a complete set of scenery including a purpose built table. Almost a year in, the project is coming along nicely but is by no means finished... I figure it will take me another year to complete the board. This is no problem, as I've been using it for gaming since the very start... Judging by your name and avatar, you've played Dark Omen... Epic game, wished my pc could still run the game (I still have my copy)... More updates soon!

yes dark omen must be the best pc game I played.. ever! (except for Rome total war but come on Dark Omen is 1998!) if you've got windows XP you can still play the game! install like normal then use alt+tab to quit end re-enter the game and turn off the coloured mouse and you should have no problem gaming! don't you spend a lot of time per week/day on your table? I wish I could get myself that motivated!
