| Greetings, Just started a witch hunter warband, there's scenery in the club I play (knights of bayard) and there are several shops in the 30 km radius where you can participate in campains.... But I gotta build me some mordheim/warhammer terrain myself ! This first building is made with plasticcard, kellog's box, lot's of superglue and balsa, and is in the pre-paint stage. Presenting (w.i.p): House of the guild of St. George. The front, with an avatars of war warrior priest for scale. More coming soon... | |

Plasticcard for the walls (0,75 mm) balsawood in different size's and shapes, cardboard and glue. That's it, and a bit of greystuff for the stonework. Thanks for the comments, here are some detailshots : Greets.

| amazing indeed! very nice!! my only remark is the fact that your stones seem to be jutting out from the walls, it should be the very opposite of that! but other than that a very nice build!
but plasticard? isn't that expensive??

| Looks great so far, I love the detailing. Are you planning to texture the walls and base the buildings? | |

Yes, you are right. - Quote :

Also right (kinda, +- 4 € of plasticcard in this buildig) These are 2 negative points which is why i'm gonna experiment with foam. Cheaper, easy to manipulate and stronger than 0,75 mm plasticcard. Hard to find a good source in my hometown (Dendermonde, ben in Gent naar school geweest ) I know of Schleipper in Ghent, someone a suggestion ? (Looking at you Belgians ;-)) - Quote :
- Are you planning to texture the walls and base the buildings?
Yes on both. Texture with sand/paint, for finish i'm gonna experiment with washes (sepia/brown/red tones) Wood will be stained with a varnish, roof in grey, the small one will be a thatched (straw) roof. What do people use around here for basing ? Cardboard and plywood tend to warp so those two are out...MDF ? Thanx again for the comments and constuctive criticism.

| Greetings, Had some plasticcard left (before switching to foam) so decided to make some more buildings. Still w.i.p off course (no roofing, floors, etc...) I made them attached to each other so a (smallish) street is formed. Thinking about doing all the buildings like this. "simple"houses in blocks of 2/3 and the more special one's (guildhouse,townhouse,etc..) separate. Comments and criticism are welcome. Front : Back : with some models : the "street" : Cheers. | |

| Your buildings are very volumetric (I think thats the correct word for what I'm trying to express) This helps greatly enhancing the feel/mood and realism of the whole game, great job mate. | |

| Plasticard buildings? Crazy But I think it's a good idea, nothing can destroy them. Great job. Surprising how adding a few pieces of wood works on imagination | |

| Warping bases is always a concern. I think typically MDF is what most use. I have also used foamcore sealed with PVA glue which works well in some circumstances. I have also seen plywood with cork on top and various other combinations. But most cost effective I think is MDF. At least that I have found. | |

Thank u, that's exactly what i'm going for. Height, depth and gaming options in the buildings - Quote :
- I have also used foamcore sealed with PVA glue which works well in some circumstances.
Think i'm going to try this option, weight is an issue so mdf will probably be out. In which circumstances is foamcore a bad option ? - Quote :

I found foamcore at AVA paperstore (5€ for +- 1,5/1,5m) , i buy balsa at a hobbystore in Grembergen (Flanders Scale Models) or in Aalst at a hobbystore. * Update. - Got some foamcore yesterday.......so i made a building ( Does it show that i'm on a holiday ? ) Don't mind the needles sticking out of the walls, the building isn't glued yet. The roofs and floors are all removable for playability, gaps showing between the roofs and the walls will be covered with shingles or straw. - Made some roofs for the other buildings too. Chimneys still to be aded. New building : Groupshot : Thank's everybody for the help and support

| those are huge! Spectacular looking buildings, lots of wood work makes them authentic. You have nailed the patchwork effect, where buildings are built up upon each other. | |

| Greetings, We've been playtesting the buildings and a few adjustments (to the buildings) are in order ! - More destruction The buildings are to difficult to enter so we need holes - Lot's of debris to give cover (building height) But first !! 8th edition warhammer terrain ! I love the new scenery rules, think they ad lot's of caracter to the game. So me and a mate started to make some terrain. Behold : 2 dwarven statue's, orc/marauder huts, orc totem. Loads more coming soon ! ( Dwarven gate, elven waystone's, darl elf watchtower, etc...) | |
