OK, building #4. Lenge's Dry Goods & Emporium.
Here's a little of the WIP pictures I took.
I normally don't take time to take pictures until I'm done.

Here is the back.
I only put double thick walls where it shows when assembled.


And the top
Wow, that's old plywood. Notice the date? FEB - 89


The bare front.
The porch roof posts are "nailed" from the bottom with straight pins. (I pre-drilled the holes.)
OK, notice the washer in the top left of the picture?
That's how I make the arches in the windows and doors.
Diferent size washers for diferent size openings.

Plastered and painted and with wood stain on...the wood
There's a sneak peek of the ladder in the top left of the picture.
Just 2 sticks with nails in holes I drilled.


Purchased roof pieces added.

The hard part is not getting Elmer's Glue
(water based white glue)
on the exposed part of the wood,
(front porch popcicle sticks, beams and other wood),
when I glue them down.
Wood stain can't go through glue.

Try using Alene's Tacky; it's water base like Elmer's, but, since its thicker/less runny, it's not as messy to use...it also retains an elasticity so it tends to be more durable.

Lenge's shop is turning out BEAUTIFULLY. The woodwork is really attractive, AND I like the backroom under the stairs. Looks like you put a lot of thought into your pieces. WELL DONE!

The amount of details are awesome! I love your work! (and stole the concept last night (built a desert table in one night, and needed buildings for it... so this construction form suited it brilliantly!))
Where do you get sooooo many bits, and do you use them ingame? (can you loot "live" ?

I also play Warhammer Fantasy and have an Empire, Orc & Goblin and Ogre Kingdoms armies.
We won't talk about my 40K armies.
A lot of the bits come from that.
But there's Mordheim bits in there too.

No, we've never tried stealing the bits to use inside of a game.
Interesting idea though.

Hm, perhaps I should do some stuff like that, too. If you magnetize all the weapons and items, you can still use them on you models, too.

I don't think so. And the magnets always find out by themselves where they are supposed to go

From the Old School/Fool perspective: while I can see the practical applications of magnets, I HATE the idea of all the loose pieces; AND I LOVE painting minis, SO...doing them in a variety of roles is an appealing prospect & a WONDERFUL excuse to get YET ANOTHER mini. Playing around with twinky little magnets is NOT my thing [Man].

that's the good thing about magnets.. they're no longer loose pieces... just detachable pieces... I love my stuff magnetic! and am currently working on magnetizing my scenery as well...

Actually I was thinking of Ian Davies tray of extra arms with different weapon options...LOTS of different weapons options to lose . If magnets ARE your thing that's the way to go.

After the Bremen Meeting I am contagioned. The next plastic warband I do will definately be magnetized. It's awesome.

I think Ezekiel has a secret contract with providers of rare earth magnets.
