| Sure, I'll put you on the schedule right behind Fort Wayne and the Children's Museum.
A vendors stall would be nice.

And there you have it. That is my main failing.
I agree that they are too clean looking. But, I don't have any artistic flair in that area and I couldn't figgure out how to do it without taking a chance on ruining the buildings. I can't blend colors in any kind of splotchy, random way and make it come out good. some watered down camo green and a sponge, get some paint on the sponge dab it on a tissue then dab on bottom of wall it will give you a mossy look, if you get too much on one part dab your finger over it, it shoud blend it in, gives a realistic moss look that you see on aged walls, practise on a painted scrap piece
Although I am not an engineer, my mind works like one. Straight edges and all. Not at all artistic. Suggestions are welcome.
Which is unusual that my first army was 40K Orks. Love the green, dragonmw7 and WarbossKurgan.

| Well, after a year of painting Dark Elf miniatures I decided (was nudged) to start building again. My first project is small so as to start out easy. I call it the Vendor's stall, large. I just filled it with things I already had on hand. I need to find more bits, I'm running out. No work-in-progress for this one. The base is 6" wide and 4 1/2" deep. </A> </A> Snuck a grandfather clock into this one. Brown plastic and I didn't even paint it. Lazy, lazy boy. Somehow, even with writing it down, I've forgotten how I got the exact colors. This one turned out darker. But that's OK for me. | |

| VERY NICE! Someone besides moi has been raiding the craft beads from the jewelry section I see. I like the exposed brickwork beneath the cracked stucco. You've got just about enough clutter to look right & not too much to make it ungames worthy. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Thanks, I actually tried rubbing dirt on the lower half this time as one of my weathering steps (ink washing is the other). It seems to work. Must test more buildings. Must build more first. Must post "in progress" photos. | |

| Must accept admiration from forum dwellers.
Clever. I would drill the top hole of the tall bead pots a little bigger with a Dremel just to hide their beadiness a bit more.
Very nice stall. | |

| Woohoo. Newest building made. Just need to spend endless hours detailing in and out. This is the 3 Sisters, it's a neighborhood bordello. A family owned business. Walls, lots of wall material. Pinning the corners. This is the start of the time intensive railing. For this building, I made the balcony floor just an extension of the 2nd floor. All one piece wraped in 3/16" and 1/4" wood strips. The pencil lines on the balcony are a lazy replacement for wood planks. Here's the top off. Here is the 1st floor. Two bedrooms on the 1st floor with one bedroom, for the eldest sister, on the 2nd floor. And the back side. I wanted to put in a back door but I just didn't have anywhere to put it and make the rooms like I wanted. Oh well, when we use something like this in Mordheim, you can go in and out of a window just as easy as a door. | |

| And now for the better photos. The base is some 40 year old 1/8" plywood. I don't think they make plywood that thin anymore. I scratched plank lines in it and stained it. It came out pretty good, I think. I also used a pin drill and pegged the outer porch supports from on top and below with...straight pins. The verticle balcony railing stiles are just 1/8" bamboo skewer sticks drilled through the 1/4" top rail and topped with a 3/16" rail to cover the cut off ends. Here you can see that I extended the balcony floor's wood covering to the side of the building for a little more support. With the balcony leaving with the 2nd floor, I had to invent a way to hold the front porch balcony "supports" by themselves. Pictures of the insides will have to wait until I put something inside. Have to build it first. | |

| That's pretty cool. A Brothel. Setting a fine example to our morally deficit community as usual Now you could go to the church, visit the brothel on your way to the bar for a booze and a fight and head back to confess your sins. I think its brilliant that you have built so many buildings already. This is a proper Tortuga. | |

| After a frenzied weekend of bed making (and pillow making) I have the insides finished to the extent of "I just don't want to mess with it anymore". Basically, I want it to look good and detailed but I'm building a piece of terrain to play games with, not a museum piece. We'll start the tour downstairs. I had fun making a broom and pictures. I'm a little wierd that way. And beds and pillows. Super Sculpy pillows, if you want to know. I had to put the plastic desk, chair and clock by themselves since they aren't as bulky as my wooden block furniture. I really like the looks of the desk and chair in the main entry way. I really wanted to have some kind of drape covering the doorways, for privacy, and having it pulled to the side to be out of the way for game play but I couldn't figure out how to do it and make it look right. Let's go upstairs. Sneak a peek. Another one from the balcony. The upstairs bedroom. Upstairs hallway. This is a port city after all. Well, that's all for this building.

| Wow, great stuff again! After seeing all your amazing pictures, I really want to make a pirate city, too I love the looks and versatility of your buildings! When gaming, how much action does take place inside the buildings? | |

Just the usual. Lots of shooting from the balconies and roof tops. Lots of going in one side and out the other to get cover from the shooters.

| UPS United Pirate Shipping (and storage) This is how it started out. Front. </A> Back with notches in the steps showing. </A> Basic layout ot the 1st floor. </A> This is something fairly new I'm trying out. Stairs with an indent to hold the model on the stairs, covered with some foamcore. Wall on one side, foamcore on the other should give rigidity to the weak foam steps. I don't like how the foamcore side shows after painting so I will try other methods to do this too. </A> Stairway installed. </A> Here is a wall section I put inside out. It made the window in the wrong place so I "bricked" it up. Later I uncovered the "bricks" so you could see them. </A> All the parts together. </A> This is with the 1st coat of paint and based. </A> And assembled. </A> Next up, the finished project. | |

| Here we go... United Pirate Shipping Front Side </A> Other side. </A> Back. </A> Top of 2nd story. </A> Back, up high. The pulley system is home-made from aluminum off an old lisence plate. Not recommended to try doing. </A> Front, up high. </A> Front, no top. </A> Front, cmpletely topless. I had a hard time making it look cluttered AND making the floorplan clear to move in and all windows and doors free for gmaing use. Note, Lego wagon wheels. 2nd story window peek. The 2 boxes on the right are just insulation "pink" foam. I scored edge boards into all sides, mashed in the foam some, and painted. Quick and dirty boxes. Not much to look at but by far the easiest to make. 2nd floor workroom. Side, above topless. Outside crates are purchased. The 3 inside ones were my atempt at building crates. Solid wood with card strips for boards. Very time consuming. "Our Founder" a picture of Captain Jack Sparrow. </A> The office. Window shot of the office. </A> Front door into the shipping counter. Nice shot of the Lego trash barrel. Would you have been able to tell? Packages galore. Just cuts of foamcore, except the big one on the floor and shelf The big one on the bottom shelf is insulation foam. </A> Above shipping counter. </A> Warehouse window shot. Stairs with notches. So there you go. I think I'll take a rest for a while and go to the beach some 860 miles away. Toes in the water, ass in the sand, not a worry in the world, no buildings to make. Life is good today, life is good. | |
