I Started out playing warhammer fantasy battle about 8 years ago and I picked up Mordheim about 3 years ago.
In the early days I played with a Possesed warband then moved onto witch hunters and sisters of sigmar although now I'm trying to find interesting new warbands to play with. atm I'm waiting to try out the wood elf warband from mordheimer which looks really interesting.

Welcome Ed Must say it's some jump from possessed to witch hunters and sisters of sigmar!
I can only recomend you to play beastmen, as that is the only warband I really played for long, but they are not to interesting though, pretty much just charge straight in and hack and slah

I forgot to mention that I did play with a beastmen warband for a very short time but as you said they are a bit unimaginative (which was the reason that I left my possessed warband). I wanted to get a more well rounded warband that isn't all about big impressive combat heroes like the possesed so the sisters and witch hunters seemed like obvious choices (a few of my friends played with mercenery warbands so I wanted to get a bit of variety into our games).

and surely skaven are a much more effective warband: 6 heroes with similar stats to beastmen heroes, rat ogre and the cheep and cheerful henchmen. (I've always thought they seemed a bit over powered)

I was a bit rude and started posting without a proper introduction. Sorry about that.

Anyway, my name is Joao (a free blister pack for anyone who can pronounce the name correctly), I'm 33 and come from Portugal (although I currently live in Bournemouth, UK).

I got into the hobby not too long ago (two years ago to be precise), inspired by the good old memories of reading/playing Fighting Fantasy books and by the need of doing something creative like painting and sculpting. From there to collecting miniatures was a quick step.

I started collecting GW models to begin with, but my collection goes way beyond that brand. Basically I collect and paint any model that captures my interest.

As for favourite army/race, I don't have any in specific, althought I've got a thing for dwarfs (sounds a bit sick, I know...). I also love their antagonists, the Goblins, as they were the first miniatures that I ever painted. I'm also a big terrain fanatic!

What blister are we talking about? You never mentioned what your favourit mordheim warband is or what warbands you have experience with?

And Joao: dwarfs? REALLY??? DWARFS??? lol

Thanks for the welcome messages, guys! I'm definitely into terrain at the moment. And yes, Dwarfs are on my top list of favourite races. Mind you, I also like Skaven, so I'm a bit torn apart here...

Anyway, I don't have much gaming experience gathered, since I've only got into the hobby recently - and more for the painting side of things, really.

That said, I absolutely love most Mordheim warbands. In particular, Carnival of Chaos, Undead and Witch Hunters. Also, I've got the Frenzied Mob lined up on the painting table, so I might get round to paint them some time in a near future. I just love every single model from that pack!

My names Hamish, i,m 17. Ive taken a few years from from table top gaming as all my friends gave it up which left me on my own and lead to me loosing interest i guess =/ . However recently i seem to be getting a interest for it again! (digging out old warhammer fantasy/40k books and trawling games workshop website has sparked a new appetite)

Im thinking of starting a summer project of maybe a Mordheim warband as i finish college this week and was lead here by searching mordheim+leicester (as in september im off to DMU in leicester to study illustration)which lead me to http://boringmordheimblog.blogspot.com/ which lead me here so i thought might as well introduce myself so i could get chatting to some folks!

Hi all!
I'm Cami in Atlanta, GA (USA) and only started Mordheim a few months back. I'm actually an old school 40k'er with ventures here and there into other games. A campaign started up at the local store and I opted to start out with Beastmen and had a lot of fun. Here's my final setup at campaign's end.

I decided I wanted something a bit more shooty the next go 'round. It was announced that we were doing BorderTown Burning and I just HAD to have a wagon. So I'm running a Merchant Caravan. I started small, but hopefully will be making some big money with them soon.

I'm having a blast so far, especially making my own wagon(s) and beginning my first Mordheim story.

Well, my advice would be to find a warband you think would suit you and a race that appeals to you! Don't worry about how good they are or who will win you most battles! So if you think that dwarfs are the most appealing race in mordheim then you should go for them

Hey all, I'm Martyn, flitting between North-West England and uni in Cambridge. Played Warhammer Fantasy since I was about 11, though now haven't played for years, still sporadically build armies though. The only one that really remains though is my ever growing Dwarf throng, clad in spectacular red, yellow and orange.

My Mordheim experience is more recent, having picked up the game about 5 years ago. I haven't had the joy of playing in a proper multi-player campaign but have played several campaigns with a friend at home. Well, not so much campaign, as there we only ever each had one warband, so two in total, but we went through advancements and such.

Have played with Dwarves and Ostlanders against Reiklanders and Skaven I believe. I've got into the idea again after deciding to get some of the newer Empire models, and seemed to be in the throes of collecting a small force. But then I remembered Mordheim! So with the future looking quite vague (I may be moving to South Africa in a year or so) I think it best to focus my attention on small warbands than have to worry about shipping another large army. Also managed to get the same guy I used to play with back home keen again, so that's good.

I've got a bit of terrain I can use, the old boxed set buildings, a couple of my own very poor cardboard ones and have just purchased a nice tower from Ebay. I'm kind of on the look out for some more scenery that'll either take up little space/weight or will be cheap enough that getting rid of it during a move won't be too bad. I'm considering WorldWorks Games card-stock stuff, I'll ask elsewhere in the forum, but does anyone have any experience using these?

So yes, a brief bit of internet trawling brought me here.

I probably won't have much time for the physical side of the hobby til I get home for the summer, but expect some posts with my possible warband rosters and fluff to come soon.
