Lately the scenery has been SO cool that I don't notice the unpainted stuff...at least not immediately. GREAT WORK!  

Rumble on da Westbank
Zug'z Ruffnekz an' da Gutrippas face off fer da street fight on da Westbank. Dere be lotza finga snappin' an' fancy dancin'. Not. Dere wuz fancy shootin', boar ridin' an' troll whuppin'. Well, troll shootin', but dere nothin' fancy about dat.

Red Toofs Stab Zug inna Back!
Some o' dose Red Toof gobbos try da sneak attack on Zug'z while da Ruffnekz be shootin' Gutrippas. Dey don't send enough Red Toofs fer da job. Zug's boyz chop dem Red Toofs right up inta bloody bitz.

Blind Git Shoot Nameless
Dat Blind Git wot run wit Zug'z up an' shot ol' Nameless down, right dere inna street. Ol' Nameless, he jus' standin' dere droolin' like he do. Blind Git shoots him! Den da Headtaker, who wuz kinda restin' inna shade o' Nameless dere, dis Rik O'Shea git hit da Headtaker! Wound da git bad! No idee who dat Rik O'Shea git iz, or where he wuz shootin' from!

Cookie Saves Day!
Wit da Nameless layin' about all stuck fulla arra, an' da Headtaker bleedin' behind dis tree. It look purty dark fer da Gutrippa. It bein' mainly a Street Shoot as fer as dey concern. Well da Cookie Wassis, he sees dat Ol' Blu beatin' on da poor ol' Skippa. Cookie git all angry like he do. Cookie take da Glowy Green Club and bash dat Ol Blu II inta bloody pulp. 'Bout da same time, da Toll Troll git filled up wit da arra, too. Fall right over. Den dis git what kinda hidin' behind da Toll Troll he git shot by da Shaft. All of a sudden tings ain't so good fer da Zug'z. Zug sez 'letz boogy!"

More Scrappin' on da Westbank
Seein' how easy Zug'z run from da Gutrippas, da Krew muscled in on Zug'z turf. Dey sets up da chancy encounter type ting. Zug'z runned from three boars anna troll, but da Ruffnekz dug in dey heels against five boar riders anna sea troll. Interestin'. After a bit o' bleedin', da Krew bug out. One o' Zug'z ladz iz rubbed out, permanent, like.

Gobbo Shaman join Zug'z
Tings were goin' a bit south fer Zug'z ladz, dere on da Westbank. Den dis li'l gobbo appear from da streets. Start slingin' a bit o' Gork's or Mork's mojo about. Tings picked up a bit after dat.

Da Snot Warz iz Back!
Dere wuz more Snot huntin' happenin' on da Northbank, other night. Da Sneaks iz real good at Snot huntin'. (Don't let da wailin' foolz ya.) Other night, da Sneaks grab too Snots, Too gobbos an' a squig right under noses of da Gutrippas. Gutrippas catch one weedy Snot. Kill a snot an' a squig, accidental, like. First blood go to da Sneaks, one o' da Udderboyz cut one o' da udder-Udderboyz. Den Cookie ride right over da lot o' dem gitz.

Dere wuz some gnashin' o' teef an' wailin' how it weren't fair, but da Sneaks bugged out.

Is the scaffolding from the Hobbit Goblin set?

The scaffold is from my 'what can I make with old sprue period.' It was intended as permanent stairs for a riser I have. I just found the piece too useful to attach once I got it built.

Naturally someone in our group, who shall not be named, has the Hobbit scenery in his possession. But it hasn't made it to game night yet.

Northbank Rend-ez-vous
Kap'un Arrgberg an' da Gutrippas stumbled inta Boss Pain'ton Man Eat an' da Ruffbrawlaz over on da Northbank.  It wuz a chance meetin', like.  Considerin' da company, no surprise it come ta blows purty quick.  Lotsa arrows inna air, gitz popin' off wit da hand guns an' such. Mad Bomma Dribblesnot run around like da headless chicken, but he no do nothin'.  It look purty dim fer da Gutrippas.  Def Late, da Ruffbrawla shaman, ZAP Kap'un Arrgeberg.  Nameless jus' look at da purty rocks after dat.

Da Cookie, he lead a charge against Man Eat.  But da Cookie, he got da rubber clubba, ye know? Still dat Man Eat, he feel dat dey still too many Gutrippas.  An' da Ruffbrawlaz got ta brawlin' wit each other, not da Gutrippas.  So Man Eat, he re-tire, ye know?  Live ta fight da other day an' all dat. AS it were, a couple o' gobbos got rubbed out, but who care about dat?  Kap'un Arrgberg he suffer da Old Battle Wound.

Dere wuz da big scrap on da Westbank, jus' yestidey, or maybe dey before.  Dem Sneaks got all vengeful.  Gonna get dem Krew an' dem Gutrippa.  Iffin' da Sneaks no buy da rubba choppa, mighta worked, too.  But da Sneak dey like dem rubba choppa, cheap, ya know?  Lotsa gitz laid low wit da ouchy, no greenskin kilt.

Dat duppy warboar call Stinga got rubbed out inna big scrap on Westbank.  Some gitz ate da corpse, so no tellin' wot killed it.

Rock Lobba Stole off Northbank

Chad and I played 'The Lobba' scenario where there was a catapult in the center that we were fighting over.
Most of the first half of the game we both raced toward the center.

I voluntarily routed after losing my troll (Booga), a couple of nameless orc henchman and a couple of goblins.
I took out some squigs, Chads newly appointed orc hero, and a couple of goblins I think (2 of his goblins died).  Casualties were about even on both sides.

2 of my gobbos ended up dying, but I found a new goblin in exploration who decided to join the boyz and replace one of the goblins that got killed.  I had a +3 underdog bonus, so pretty much everyone gained a level and I had an orc henchman get promoted to hero - so finally I have a full 6 heroes.  Chad got some good loot by capturing the lobba and selling it off after the game.

LOKIN' GOOD ONCE MORE! Pointless violence can be such fun.  

Da Shouta Returnz
Da Shouta iz back!  Weez backs in town wit all da dirt from, like, foreva. Do to da circumferences beyond da control, weez had a vay-kay-shun.  But itz over now, soz back ta da grind.  And da Shouta!

Chance Meetinz an Such
Big Toof bein' so big, dere still a lot of da chance encounterin' happenin'.  Like, da Krew stumble inta da Ruffnekz dat day.  Da Krew jus' riddin' down da middle of da trail, like dey do.  An' dere iz da Zug'z boyz. Da Krew only gots one treasure, but Zug'z gots three.  Da Krew make Zug'z share.  Zug hate dat.  Soz dere da scrappin' an' da killin'.  But it been a bit, an' da bodies iz gone now...

Zug'z report gettin' krumped, but dey caught dis mule wit four crates, so, not so bad.

Da Gutrippa meet dem Wild Boyz inna scrap over da snots on da Southbank.  Been a bit since da Snots got harvested from da Southbank.  Dere wuz a couple of 'em, but mostly dere wuz da squigs and da gobbos.  Dem Wild Boyz catch a couple of snots an' grab a Red Toof gobbo.  Da Gutrippas kilt a squig, but caught a couple of gobbos an' snots.  Mostly da Gutrippas bash dem Boyz.  Dem Boyz legged it.

Dem Boyz ree-tire Drog da Spottaz, wot got no weapon skill no more, 'cause he all cut up.  Red Toof got 'im.

Da Gutrippas got da paint.  Dey on da west edge of da field.

As is often the case on weekends, it took forever to get the photos to come up, BUT it was worth the trouble. GREAT LOOKING GAME once more!  

Looking at all the photos, I can almost recall what gaming used to be like.  

Ah. In my case it is the curse of the old computer. I always wait with baited breath to see if the machine will load the post I just took forever to write...

Da Chancy Incounter on da Southbank
Da Gutrippas wuz headed west on da Southbank, runs inta da Krew headed east. Da Krew wuz kinda wobbly, dey let da Gutrippas come at 'em. Da Gutrippas brought out da rubba choppas an' had at 'em. Rubba choppa don't do no good.

As far as G.W. thingys go the 40K Orks are about the coolest...almost as cool as Goblins.  

I always look at 40K as a waste of time that could be spent on cool stuff like Mordheim scenery...

It were interesting at the end, but the lure of a SECOND game encouraged da Gutrippas to run.
Smasha III and da last good gobbo were captured.  Basha takes a leg wound.  But he already has a boar to ride, so meh.

Roundup at Da Big Toof Corral
There was much excitement (and a more than a little pessimism from certain quarters).  We haven't played this in a long while and Chris was down a boar still.  I was hopeful of getting at least one, and, well, Jim L.

Non-mutated, one attack boars trample right over da Sneaks.  The lamentations rise in volume.


Da Krew heroes ride right over the Gutrippa henchmen.  Right over.  Basha gets caught up in da scrap, so he must be saved.


A non-mutated, one attack boar tramples da Sneaks' boss right out of action. (2W, T5, 3A Boss).


And da boars continue to defeat da Sneaks...


And an Itsy Bitsy Spider shows up... guess who it attacks...


We didn't have enough time to finish the fight.  No one got a boar off the table to permanently capture it.  
Da Gutrippa's lose one maxed out bow orc and one of Gilly Gan's boyz too.
Da Sneaks' Boss is Hardened by the ordeal.
Da Krew's Boss was ooa as well, but no news on his status.

HOORAY! Some SPLENDID LOOKING miniatures & terrain! GREAT STUFF!  
The two things that 40K & War Hammer have in common are cumbersome rules & moronic backgrounds. Some of the minis almost make the games worthwhile.

A Really Big Toof

We are coming to the end for old Big Toof, back in May I had intended to build a rock formation that gives the town (and the river its name, but its July now...

This week there were four of us again, but Chad discovered that his warband list had wandered off since last he played... So three.

To start the Big Sneaks encountered the Gutrippas by chance...

A Chance Encounter on da Northbank
Da Gutrippas had the northeast corner...


Boom! Da blunderbuss hero unloads on Nameless.  A gobbo goes down.


Cookie takes down the blunderbuss hero +1 treasure to the Gutrippas.




Bad things happen to da Gutrippas charge.  


Cookie is shot down. (+1 treasure to da Sneaks) Kap'un Arrgberg charges Horney Haid II or III...


Da Sneaks pirate orc is dealt with...


Da Sneaks see da end is near, so they fight to nearly the last orc.  Eleven of them are down before da Gutrippas give up hurting them as a bad job. (Eight or nine Gutrippas were down as well.)

Da Sneaks win.  Horney Haid II or III was killed by Kap'un Arrgberg.  Several other Sneaks die, but Horney Haid was the big loss.  Da Sneaks win their SEVENTH.

Two Gutrippas die as well.  Cookie will miss a game...

It were set up like dis.  Da Nob has apparently already lurched 4 inches toward da Gutrippas...

No Gutrippas die, but Shaft suffers a deep wound for his troubles.  Various Sneaks may have died.  I'm not sure any of Dem Wild Boyz were even wounded.  Da Gutrippas escape wit da Nob and get richer.

Next week is our last battles in Big Toof and GenCon so not a big battle.

It took quite awhile to get the photos to come up, but it was worth the wait. The minis & terrain look TERRIFIC...the Pirate Orcs are particularly cool & well painted. GREAT LOOKING GAME!

We had our final meeting on the opening day of Gen Con.  Chris, Kevin, Bob and I were the only folks to make campaign night at the store.  Chad was running the Mordheim events at the convention and John was playing in one.
