I just received a WONDERFULLY crafted Viking Knife from Comsquare in exchange for the Pumpkin Heads I sent him:

While I'm fairly certain you can have too many Pumpkin Headed Horrors, I can never seem to make too many of the Seedy Guys. SO today I started on the next batch/patch/whatever. These are more typical of my work in that they are being done for no particular reason or person other than for the pure joy of it all.This mornings work:

The Smiling Jack O'Lantern is the most popular with the Folks for whom I've done Pumpkin Heads...it's my favorite as well. There's something between lecherous & devil-may-care about him.  

SO...after doing the dry brush & taking these photo, I was off to Austin. Now before it's time to call it a day I can finally post the pics.

Man you have been busy since last I could comment. The knife is very cool, but man those pumpkin heads are amazing. It is my intention to create a pumpkin head warband as I have a bunch, too. Maybe pumpkinhead/scarecrows...

Thanks, Jim. I'm glad you like them. This time of the year keeping myself occupied is a must. It boosts the spirit.  
There will be a return of Gauntfield, the Scarecrow I named in your honor, & the reaper Witch/Wizard I did for one of the original Pumpkin Crews. I'm looking to populate a few of the boards I have finished or on the way. There are also some surprise packages planned.  

It was one of those days when staring into space seemed The Thing to do. I did rebase the Shaman to include give him a bit more atmosphere & a couple of Mushrooms for company:

Thanks, Jim. The premise for the one Band is that the Witch (leader) has organized her followers to hunt the Witch Hunters...what goes around etc..  

NEWS FLASH:
Since posting the photos (& a nap), I have a mystery disappearance I'm investigating.
The Big Guy with the sword & pistol is missing.
Only his sword arm has been found after an exhaustive...Old men get exhausted easily...search.
Foul play is highly likely.

I figure rather than go nuts, I'll make a story out of the thing.

The Tall Pistoleer remains missing. Two possible witnesses were questioned:




...the one on the left said: "muffgooblik." The one on th right: "We were in Switzerland at the time." Both seemed plausible.  

I snapped out of the Yule Funk a little while ago & now have the Pumpkin Shaman's base just about done:

 

 

 

 

 
...with nothing worth watching on The Tube, I should start coming up to speed again...such as that is.
One of the pluses for taking photos is that they point ot little slips that are missed in a casual viewing. Some touch ups are in order now.  

NEWS FLASH: The errant Pumpkin Head Pistoleer has been found & reunited with his sword arm. He was found upside down in one of the paint trays. His Comrades were thrilled to see him...for the most part.
