The Drunken Pirate is one of the Mini of the Month pieces from Old Glory. He is Captain Joe L. Ummling. This is his story:

"Captain Rummling was an unstable & boisterous man. Rummling was given to consuming immense quantities of "Demon Rum", which caused his crew to be never quite sure what mood would be consuming their captain. Some days found the captain screaming obscenities as orders, & sending many a crewman under the whip for merely crossing his path, Other days Captain Rummling could be found in fits of raucous laughter & over friendly conversation
Many a pirate jumped ship while at port to escape their erratic & drunken captain.
Captain Rummling met his end one dark & lonely night during a binge of smoking & drinking on top of a leaking powder keg."

Each month Old Glory issued a new mini with a story like the one above. In this case, Captain Rummling is depicted moments before The Big Bang.

I got my Moonlight Minis in a swap with Da Bank, but I am tempted to pick up a couple of things...it doesn't take much to tempt moi.

These goblins are not my cup of tea, but you have done an excellent job on them. I think its the schrooms that make them palatable...

Jim L has several of those Moonlight models in his undead pirate horde. I got the helmsman a few years back as a X-mas gift. Made the mistake of using the wheel for a set design, never got the set model back from the client...

They have a great selection of dockside clutter that I find tempting, it does take so little...

Thanks, Jim. The PathFinder stuff isn't to everyone's taste, but then what is? I'm glad you like the bases...that is, after all, the one thing that is solely my work.  

I'm having trouble resisting a few of the Moonlight pieces myself.

Not that I have gone looking for it, but I have not seen that model before. I thought it was a wolf rider.

They make a nice little warband.

I love these guys! Your painting style is so exuberant, I think the bright colour palette with the very characterful models totally makes them pop . Am I the only person to see Gremlins when looking at the Goblins though?

BTW do you ever game with these guys or is it a purely painting/modelling thing?

Thanks, Jim. I thought The Dog had a healthy dash of rat in the bloodline.
With a Spell Slinger (I think they make a suitable Goblin shaman) & a couple more bows, it has possibilities.

There's quite a few Folk that are in the Gremlin camp as to appearance...including moi. PathFinder has some odd ideas about Fantasy Creatures.
I haven't had any gaming other than the odd solo game in years, but I almost invariably paint the minis with gaming in mind...all toy soldiers have the inalienable right to be played with.

Thanks, Jim. The mushroom is my favorite part also. I have a Night Goblin army from '02 or so with the goblins perched on Mushrooms of considerable size...that's from whence I trace my Mushroom Mania.

Is there a cauldron?

Despite the gorgeous colors and riotous shrooms my eyes keep going to the tantalizing shapes of the figures awaiting paint behind them...

No cauldron in the photo, but I have a couple of very big cauldrons from a couple of scented candles...should be perfect for some Goblin Brew. The variety of things to come lurking behind the things being worked on keeps me motivated to complete the work at hand...then on to some other cool thingies. I have lots of stuff ready for the final painting & scenic touches; it has to do with my love of basing & priming.

Thanks, Vil le Move! I'm glad you like them. Bright colors are a carry over from the flashy historical miniatures I did when I first started painting a long time ago...it's all Napoleon's fault.  

Absolutley cracking set of mini's, DN! The chaps behind look like an interesting bunch too, do my eyes decieve me or do I see some kind of giant rat mount?

...their paint job leaves much to be desired. The mini is cooler in person. I'm working on some of the goblins now: SO you should see my version in the near future...I hope.

I started on the Dark Hold Goblins aka Rapunzel's Goblins last night. I have one of the villagers done & a full head of steam built up.

The second half of the Foil & Fink Team is done other than the basing that is. I have yet to decide whether to base the two, separately, or together, AND, if together whether to do them on a gaming base or as part of the scenery:
