| Thanks, Ben. As always, I'm glad you like them. I have some Slayers & alternates coming from Black Tree...I hope to live long enough to receive them. | |

| Those are absolutely mental, more than a little absurd and utterly fabulous.
Will they get a full colour paint job at some point? They surely deserve one.

| Thanks for the reply, lordlucan. Like the Honorable Company of Mercenary Dwarven Rogues the Order will be all done up in a bright array of colors, probably with the Pistoleers receiving some attention first. | |

| The pistoliers remind me of stunted Scots Border Reivers.
I do love the expressiveness of the ponies. And the bases are up to the usual high standard. Are they actually oval or is that the Camera of Contrariness?

| Thanks, Jim. Their armor is very much like the better equipped Border Reavers. It's accented by the Van Dykes that most of the Pistoleers are sporting. I'm not as enthusiastic about the Knights, but I can see that changing as I paint them. The bases are wood ovals...I went back to Lara's Craft bases for the Dwarfs. They were a little thicker that the rounds; SO I beveled the edges to the same thickness & leveled them off with the basing material (plumber's epoxy putty in this case).

Yup! The Little Guys are quite proficient with them in fact especially if there's an Engineer in the Group. If you take Ian Davies' advice on the subject...& he is The Man for all things Dwarf, missile weapons are the great equalizer for the Vertically Challenged. I also use a different set of rules....playing solo means I can go for cool looking without the constraints that real gaming imposes.* Thanks by the way...I've always wanted to be officially a heretic...at least from G.W's perspective. *edited for a better explanation.

| I don't remember the black powder guys--they are great models I really am concentrating on getting more clutter, jars, grain sacks, and painting up the bazaar finally, well at least the fountain and a vendors stall. | |

The Black Tree Dwarfs tend more toward the Renaissance look of the old Marauder minis; SO there are more of their Dwarfs are Black Powder Guys. I figured they go well with the Post Apocalypse idea. - Von Kurst wrote:

The terrain is what I really should be concentrating on myself. Of course, when I'm in building mode, I keep thinking about the boxes of unpainted minis...if only I could give up sleeping.

Thanks, smile! I sure hope so. I have a fair number of the Short Fuzzy Folk in the works including some Golden Oldies. Then there are ALL those Goblins, Stone Haven Gnomes, miscellaneous Mercenaries...sleeping is looking more like a luxurious waste of time.

| Hooray gobbos! And Porcine Knights! Not heard of this company at all, which is not a surprise, but thanks for bringing them to my limited attention. Love the pack rats. Reaper is coming out with one that is more like their overladen henchman model, but both would be useful. | |

| Thanks, Jim...I think they are pretty cool myself. I saw one of the Pig Knights painted up in a diorama on L.A.F. & as a W.I.P. on the Reaper Forum. That's what prompted me to get them all...there are still a couple of Townies that I haven't mounted & photographed. | Wonderful mix of figures. Some of those models I have only seen in catalogs, others I sold years ago when I was lightening my collection in preparation for a move. Oi! The Disc World figure is excellently done | |

There were a couple of minis that Ben sent to be painted that I also had only seen in OLD copies of the White Dwarf. On leaving stuff behind I can identify; i.e., I left a fair amount of cool things behind when I moved from Long Island to Texas. While some of that stuff is irreplaceable, I did land in a treasure trove of old stuff that Cap'n John accumulated. SO I have enough thingies to last moi the second half of my life ...or longer. - Von Kurst wrote:

Thanks, Jim...glad you like him. The Disc World line was/is, for the most part, outside of my price range...but cool nonetheless. He's really quite tall; he'd be a FINE surrogate Nicodemus. - floedebolle wrote:

Thanks, Ben. I glad you like them. Actually, after all the Postal delays, I'm delighted you have them at all; liking them is a bonus. I forgot to include one of the Surprise! Orcs; SO I'll have to make up another package for you sometime soon. I think the Wrangler figured into The Reaper Man, but now I'm not all that sure...it's time for some rereading.
