I've been working on models to represent the special characters from the different Town Cryer scenarios and the old Random Happenings article. As anyone who's tried to track one down knows the Town Cryer model is virtually impossible to get hold of and I was never that keen on it so I thought I'd convert my own. Here's the result, using parts of eleven different kits.

And the plastic Cairn Wraith, too good a model to resist and much better than the old metal ones I'd been considering.

Characters, special or otherwise, are for moi what skirmish gaming in general & Mordheim in particular is all about. Your Town Crier & Ghostly Guy look GREAT & will add to your games. WELL DONE!   thumbsup

Love that town cryer!!

I know what you mean about the usual price of the original model. Maybe you can get this one instead and make a conversion if you're really keen:

Yeah I realised a while ago it was based on the old flagellant but I find white metal quite difficult to work with and my sculpting isn't up to the job.Far easier to whack a load of plastic components together  Smile . I get the feeling it was one of the test sculpts for a new sculptor that got released to fill a gap in the range and for me didn't have the same quality of sculpting as the rest of the Mordheim range, the level of fine detail and general quality of the models has rarely been equalled in my opinion.

Hey you did a good job on both models. I especially like the sandclock of your town cryer (which has a striking resemblance to the original model) and the paintjob of the wrath's scythe.
Concerning the quality of the MH-models, I think you'll find only a few here that will contradict you.

Thanks guys, it's always good to have your work appreciated. the hourglass came from an Empire flagellant along with bits from 10 other kits (online bits stores are fantastic, and cheap, for conversions like this). There was an 'Eavy Metal masterclass which showed how to paint it that I followed to the letter. The same article had tips on painting crystalline swords for Eldar that I want to try on my Sword of the Herald objective marker at some point.
