Konrat and Bogen: The Watch.

The bodyguards of the Archeotech Prospectors group - the wilds of Mancunius Dome are not at all safe, after all. They think of themselves as Skitarii but they are far from it. They are just local thugs in gas-masks who have been hired by Tyloc Heften Haug with the promise of first-pick of any advanced weaponry the Prospectors find. They had a small amount of technical ability when they were first recruited and this has increased by working alongside the more skilled members of the group, but they are still just the hired guns really.

You have the gritty, sinister look down pat. The latest recruits are as WONDERFULLY DONE as their comrades in arms!

The Heavy is made from the Genestealer Cults Neophyte Hybrids kit, and the Leader is made from the Genestealer Cults Primus. Both with arms from Tempestus Scions (formerly known as Stormtroopers) and a heads from Space Wolves marines.

The Skinny-men are one of the dominant gangs in Mancunius Dome, mostly active in the Sump Crawl area, they are on fairly good terms with the Gothermogs and the Sumptreaders but have a bitter rivalry with the Slipgibbets.

Abraham Moss, House Van Saar Ganger.

Fairly simple paint-job: Black spray undercoat. Grey zenithal spray pre-highlight, lightly drybrushed white to emphasise the edges. Washed with Biel-Tan Green Shade and Nuln Oil Shade. Details like face and shoulder pads painted conventionally: base coat, shade, re-apply base-coat colour, highlight.

The Skinny Guy painted up SPLENDIDLY...you will get an OUTSTANDINGLY if you drill out the gun muzzle & give him eyes. GREAT WORK!  

How do the new gang names translate to the old gang names?

Thanks Alan! I won't be drilling this guy's weapon now he's painted. But I've realised that the square panel on his right fore-arm is a computer screen-thing, so I will be painting that - I'll do something with his eyes at the same time.

They aren't new / old names as such. The Houses of Necromunda haven't been updated like Warhammer factions have, Orc > Orruks, etc.

The Sumptreaders are a House Orlock gang.
The Skinny-men are House Van Saar.
The Gothermogs are House Escher.
The Slipgibbets are Scavvies (so Outlanders, and not part of a House).

The names I mentioned are the "non-player" gangs as most players in our Mancunius Dome games will be using Inquisitors and their henchmen or agents of Chaos, not Underhive Gangs. I still want it to feel like the games are set in the Necromunda Underhive, so I want to make some gangs as background characters, then the usual Necromunda inter-gang politics and battles in our narrative will have a more physical presence in our games. They are all my gangs in a sense but I won't be playing them - they will turn up as either random events (generated by event cards) or part of scenarios, as either objectives or obstacles.

The Sumptreaders are all ready done (Photo link!), and they will appear as my Inquisitor's henchmen sometimes. The Skinny-men, you've met. The Gothermogs and the Slipgibbets have yet to appear but I have plans...

Thanks for the Gang names. I thought they might be your own, but I wanted to match them to the Necromunda Gangs. AND thanks for the link. The Sumptreaders are a BEAUTIFULLY converted & painted Gang...VERY WELL DONE!  

The game itself has a lot of potential, especially with the scenery you've been crafting. I'll be keeping an eye out for the Battle Reports.  

Haven't used the new genestealer cult kits yet. Been very tempted do so, thankfully I didn't buy the deathwatch boardgame. Must buy a box of cultists to see what I can make of them.

Dalton - The Potion Maester
"Rolle uppe goode Sires! Genuine Wildesnake Tonics to treate all the ills of the Hive!"

Maester Dalton was once Magos Dalton, a Genator of the Adeptus Mechanicus Divisio Biologis working in the upper reaches of Hive City. His fall from grace amid rumours of heretical experiments (accusations that his still denies, claiming they were falsified by a rival Magos) forced him to flee to the Underhive. He now makes a meagre living in Mancunius Dome as an Underhive Doc, patching up wounded gangers, fitting bionics and skull chips and the like. He supplements his income by selling narcotics of his own devising and he has become quite the showman when it comes to presenting the benefits of his chemical creations.

The Guardian's Network - part 1 (A Mancunius Dome Campaign)

+++ Mancunius Dome, Necromunda +++

What is the Guardian? A semi-mythical character that could be Xenos, a Witch or a Daemon: Legends told in the Underhive do not distinguish between them very well. Local knowledge of such things is derived from folk tales, not academic study...

Many evil deeds are attributed the Agents of the Guardian, but also many miracles. There seems to be a contradiction between the stories told in different regions of the dome. Some have the Guardian as a devil in the darkness, others as a benevolent and protective father-figure. I suspect both could have a basis in truth and are dependent on the point of view of the original story tellers.

I fear the Guardian could even be an ancient Genestealer Patriarch... the father-figure tales told by cultists in its power. The devil-in-the-dark versions told by those outside the cult. But at this point it could be a Witch or Daemon granting favours for its followers or cursing its enemies.

Or it could be a bedtime story for children.

Inquisitor Lenk and his retinue investigated the dank ruins of Mawside. They cautiously advanced through the rusted and filth-covered district, swathed in semi-darkness. A disused building that loomed over the area, referred to as Silo B45, stood out from the other ruins as it seemed to still have power - a dim orange light illuminated it from within.



From the gloom, the warband of Inquisitor Quintus Severus attacked, Combat Servitor XA-305 at the fore!



Servitor Drone Mordrux blasted Inquisitor Severous with his Plasma weapon.



Inquisitor Severus' Servoskull, Cherub and Raven tried to occupy the silo. The trio of partially independent automatons drifted around the decaying structure, scanning it with their built-in augurs and auspexes.



Servitor XA-305 gunned down Tarkloth the Servo-Skull Collector.



Lenk and his local recruits, Bull Lansen and Fishgutter, of the Sumptreaders, charged the Combat Servitor...



... and brought it down, and avenged Tarkloth.



Rockwell, the Underhive Bounty Hunter, fought off the Cherub and Servo-Skull, but the Raven fled.

For the first game of the campaign we kept things very simple. We used the Kill Team booklet rules and rolled a scenario (Take the High Ground) but picked our forces without using the Kill Team restrictions (or even calculating points values). We decided to use an Inquisitor and 4 or 5 henchmen each.

I scored 4 Victory Points and Viktor scored none:

Turn 1 - 2VP for First Blood and Slay the Leader.
Turn 2 - 1VP for Break the Enemy.
Turn 3 - 1VP for Objective Secured.

In the next game we will be adding Kill Team Veteran Skills to our warbands, and maybe a few extra models each.

OUTSTANDING! That is a SPLENDID looking game. VERY WELL DONE!  

I've been working on some extra Underhive scenery for our Inquisi-Kill-Team campaign. These are all still WIP but they are starting to look good. All painted with a zenithal grey spray over black undercoat. Nuln Oil all over. Athonian Camoshade and Agrax Earthshade in random areas. Drybrushed Ushabti Bone. Very watered-down Mournfang Brown.

LOOKIN' GOOD...in a decrepit, ruined sort of way! The City of Death stuff is one of G.W's best efforts. I got to do a board with it for one of my then local hobby stores years ago. You are making the most of the stuff. OUTSTANDING WORK!  

I added the last few touches to the 3 new pieces of scatter terrain: (weathered) hazard stripes in front of the pipe outlets on the walkway and some Typhus Corrosion









The hazard stripes aren't as well done as I'd hoped - they aren't quite straight and are slightly uneven. But I did them freehand and I don't have time to redo them. I'm a fan of the hazard stripe aesthetic in Necromunda but they have to be in logical places - "Don't Stand here!"





The Archeotech Prospectors are making a guest appearance to show off the new scenery...

Necromunda scenery has a TREMENDOUS appeal for me. Each time I look at your SPLENDID pieces, I have an urge to do some myself...only lack of space saves me. GREAT WORK once more!  

After a month(!) sitting on my desk I have finished painting the Van Saar Leader and Heavy.

Oh, I've had projects that have had much longer between start and completion (and some where that clock is still ticking) but this was a "quick" project in my head!
