| Wonderful! Loads of eyecandy, and a little story as well. The elephant monster model is terrific! What is it, and where is it from? | |

| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World! I recently acquired some Ex Illis miniatures and I wanted to share my comments regarding the miniatures with the TBMF Community. Here is a finished example of a Halberdier from their English Reinforcement line: Ex illis miniature stands almost the same height as the GW miniatures except that the ex illis minis are, more or less more anatomically proportioned. Their heads and limbs are smaller and slimmer but the torso are visually at par with those of GW. In the picture shown above, I used a head from GW's plastic Bretonnian Men-at-arms set and I think that it fits quite well with the torso. I have yet to assemble the 16 halberdiers and rank them up before I make up my mind whether these particular miniatures could "count as" acceptable units for my GW Empire/Bret army. For now, they would simply serve as village guards. I will post pics of the finished unit as soon as I am finished with them. | |

| I must admit that Ex Illis is a new line for moi. The head matches up well with the torso; & it does painted up VERY NICELY! | |

| The Old Lady Burners look TERRIFIC; the color choices give them a very business like & mildly sinister appearance suitable to their calling. GREAT PHOTOS & VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World1 Our hobby sometimes brings out the artist in each of us. Some paint, some write, others sculpt and others draw. After seeing some of the amazing sketches in werekin's thread "Skaeling: Tribe of the Norse", I was inspired to share some of my sketches in the hope that the other artists of this forum may likewise be inspired to make a miniature conversion based on my sketches or (and this is even better) probably even sculpt a miniature based on my drawings. Thus, may I share some of my pencils/sketches? Here is a sketch I made based on a friend who is also a staff of our local hobby store. Inasmuch as he is a self-confessed Nurgle follower/cultist, I decided to draw him as a Nurgle Champion. Here is a sketch of myself if I were a dwarf... hence the name Dreng Tromm which is khazalid for "lamentation" Here is another sketch of "Dreng Tromm" in warrior mode! Another sketch of "Dreng Tromm" in berserk form! I hope you like these sketches... | |

| @ joao
If by professional you mean that I make a living out of my sketches, then no (I am a lawyer by profession). Drawing is more like a hobby for me and I have been doing this for as long as I can remember.
I also have not received any formal training. The closest to any formal education I have ever received in the arts is limited to my comic book collection and my teachers have been the works of Frank Frazetta, Joe Kubert, Travis Charest, Jim Lee, Mark Silvestri, Neil Hodgson, Simon Bisley and countless more.
@ DeafNala
Thanks. | |

| VERY COOL SKETCHES! The dwarf is my personal favorite, but they all are looking good! The tavern picture gives him the look of a seasoned adventurer looking to blow off steam, and woe betide anyone that pisses him off! (and we can see why in the next two pics!) Very nice work. You have a lot of artistic talent. | |

| Thank you Joao, DeafNala, Spectre76, drakkol, and floedebolle. You guys are much too kind. @ floedebolle: Unfortunately my friend, I have never really tried my hand at sculpting. I have on occasion done some small sculpts here and there but my sculpts have always been limited to minor conversion works and small terrain pieces. I think it best to leave the sculpting to those who are truly gifted. Let me rather share some more of my sketches in the hope that our more talented resident "sculptors" might be challenged to come up with a miniature based on my drawings instead... Here are some characters I made as per the request of a colleague who was writing a Role Playing Game. Suffice to say that the project failed to push through but the sketches are still alive and well. The name of this guy is Tyroth. He is basically your standard rogue/ranger character. This guys is Veyhr. He was supposed to be a vampire character but after seeing the sketch, my friend decided to rewrite the background of the character and instead made him a werewolf who has embraced the faith and is now a paladin struggling to fight his inner demons. This guy is Imithir, an elf who is skilled in both fighting and magic. A lethal combination! | |
