| Very nice zombies, Dreng Tromm. Must have been loads of fun to model and paint those. As DeafNala says, in a group they look great!

| Thank you guys for the very encouraging comments. It was indeed a lot of fun painting these "walkers" and I do not think that I would get tired of them anytime soon... As pointed out by Von Kurst, the creative possibilities are just endless! I am just so hooked! In fact, just the other day, a partner in my Law Office walked in on me assembling more zombies and commented, "I hope someone is getting billed for the "work" you are doing..." | |

| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World!
I recently suffered a mild stroke. Nothing serious though. I do have some nerve damage in my hands which requires some therapy. The good thing though is that on account of the mandatory bed rest, I now have plenty of time for our beloved hobby. The bad news is that it is a pain to hold my paint brush. I guess I would have to include painting my minis as part of my therapy.
At any rate, I still have a ton of zombies to paint and I am eager to share my work with the TBMF community as soon as I am able.
In the meantime, I am browsing over the many amazing threads in our forum and I am glad to state that the forum is making my R&R less depressing although I would have to type my comments old school... one button at a time!

| I hope your recovery is a quick one. I've had family members that have had strokes of varying severity, and if you're doing okay, then you should consider yourself very lucky! For the time being, however, I hope you enjoy your time off, don't over-do it, and get more good painting works accomplished! | |

| I echo my Fellow Forumites in wishing you a complete & speedy recovery. Perhaps the work on your minis will aid in getting your brain reconnected with your hands. On the typing thing, I'm still a one or two finger typist sans any excuses. | |

| A speedy recovery for you! Made me think of an Chinese saying that goes something like this: no sickness - a short life; a minor sickness - long life. Basically, one has to take good care of the time one has, and an incident like yours can help you focus on what really makes your life good. | |

| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World! I finally finished painting 60 zombies consisting of 50 GW zombies and 10 Mantic Zombies. I have yet to base them though but I am eager to share at least three weeks worth of painting... This is how 50 GW zombies look like...It is relatively hard to take a group shot of the whole horde given the limitations of my camera but I shall try to take several shots of smaller groups...I also finished painting additional characters/necromancers. Here is a couple of what I have so far... A generic NecromancerHeinrich Kemmler, Master NecromancerP.S. Thank you very much to all of you who wished me well. The knowledge of your good intentions and get-well wishes are like sustenance to me and I am confident that they shall contribute a substantive part in my recovery. Specific thanks to Von Kurst, Spectre76, Joao, DeafNala, folketsfiende, and maxxev. You guys are awesome! | |

| That looks pretty SPECTACULAR. The Group Shot looks like the climatic scene from a Horror flick...you need a Michael Jackson Zombie. Both Necromancers look up to the task of leading the Rotting Horde...the Heinrich Kemmler mini is especially cool. VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Kemmler is one of my favorite characters from the WFB fluff, and you do him great credit with your brushwork! It's kinda funny, but the look of him always reminded me of Rob Zombie, and with Halloween drawing ever closer, these really get me geared up for playing against the undead! | |

| Thanks Von Kurst and I agree with you... Zombies look better en masse. I am also presently working on some GW Ghouls (around 60 miniatures) and I am experimenting on some color scheme. I am torn between a light complexion (brought about by their prolonged stay in crypts and underground caverns) or a pale sickly tone (brought about by their diet) to a dark earthen shade (brought about by their filthy and dirty environment). Here is what I have done so far... The "hair/thread" is supposed to give the reader an appreciation of the scale in the brushwork used to define the flexing of the muscles. I think I am inclined to go for the grimier look because I figured that regardless of how pale their skin tone are, these Ghouls love to frolic in the dirt anyway thereby covering their pale complexion. Also, I have to say that the GW plastic ghouls are probably the best plastic miniature I have worked with sculpt-wise (at least in the fantasy genre). The details are amazing given their "make believe nature", they are relatively anatomically proportioned! Their pose is so dynamic and so full of character that they would readily compliment Mantic's zombies for a more realistic undead army. I know that they are not pretty but their ugliness is what makes them particularly attractive IMHO! Incidentally, I would also like to share a pumpkin familiar from Fenryll which I think compliments my Halloween-themed army... | |

| Great stuff! The pumpkin is wonderful. Regarding skin tone on ghouls I would advice to choose the colour scheme that sets them most apart from the rest of the units, while maintaining enough coherency to make it look like the same army. Among those you've mentioned I think that would be the dark earthen shade. Why not paint up a few models in different schemes and show us? | |

| The shambling Horde looks WONDERFULLY HORRIFYING, although all lined up & marching in sync brings up a Michael Jackson Thriller moment...this isn't necessarily a bad thing. On the Ghouls: I like the one you have done. AND as a Fellow Halloween/ Pumpkin Person, I love the Jack O' Lantern familiar...I've got too get a couple more packs of Reaper Pumpkins & Jack O' Lanterns. That aside... VERY WELL DONE! | |

| Excellent work on the zombies and necromancers.
I love them.
Imhope you recovery is going well. You are working at a law firm so your stress niveau is very high i believe.
In today work environment it is hard to look on your own health while sacrificing yourself for the company.
Look out for yourself, enjoy your hobby.

| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World! Last weekend, I decided to work on the other components of my growing VC army. here is what I have done so far... Spirit hosts:If I am being honest, I hated these miniatures at first. For something that is supposed to inspire fear, these minis were downright comical BUT just as it was with the zombies, these miniatures grew on me once I began painting them. I used dry-brushing and wet-blending on these miniatures and they were easy to pull of on account of the exaggerated sculpts on the burial robes. Banshee:Again, at first glance, this one of the uglier banshee sculpts of GW but these seemingly ugly models really have a tendency to grow on you. My only regret is that I was not able to purchase the other older Banshee models which are now OOP. Zombie Wolves/Dire Wolves:I do not like the new sculpts of the plastic zombie wolves of GW (but then again, these might again "grow on me") and that is why I am particularly pleased with the fact that I was able to stock up on the old metal dire wolves whose sculpts look zombie-ish anyway... ...especially this one! I also plan to get the gamezone zombie wolves to create more variation in the unit. I hope you guys like these! PS. Thank you to DeafNala, our forum Honor Guard; the Venerable Ancients, folketsfiende, floedebolle and SerialMom; including General tuxedokman and Ed the Hero for all your encouraging words and support. Personal meetings notwithstanding, you are all indeed considered by this humble Warlord as friends whose inputs and comments are both appreciated and considered. More power to you guys! | |

| Incidentally, I made a sketch of how I would look lie if I were a zombie and my head were placed on a pike and this is what I came up with... The dlan is a compression of my real name: Dexter Lacuanan aka Dreng Tromm. A close-up in order to better show the pencils and the inks... Finally, a stylized image of the same... I have way too much time on my hands. | |
