| Yes, great work on their backs.
Boy, it makes me think of the superior quality and charisma of these Mordheim models. It's definitely the end of an era in GW...

| Oh wow! Those are super minis, great choice and splendid paintjob! Love the shady and dusty colour sheme and the erie light flickering in those lanterns. Yes, but on the other hand not all the models GW made back then were top notch either and there still are some gems to be found in the current range. The Bretonian grail reliquiae (sp?) and many of the empire-chars come to mind. The civilians they just made oop were awesome and I'm sad I only got the duellists. I'm also rather fond of the state troops even for some reason nobody seems to like them. So not all is lost just yet. And there are now other manufacturers with mordheim-esque minis that weren't there 10 years ago, Lead Adventure/Bruegelburg for one. - floedebolle wrote:

I just started working on the minis for the second round, these being a Middenheimer warband. I haven't decided on all minis yet, but the first are undercoated. I'd post some pics but for some reason I have to register on this filehost-page TBMF is using... P.S. I hope you like what I did to the doghandler. | |

| I totally forgot to update here. I also managed to survive the second round in the competition, though I had to do a rushjob here and there. This is the groupshop of the Middenheimer and Mercenaries, I can post close-ups of some minis if you like: | |

| Lovely work on those models! And such rare miniature you have in your collection - like the Mordheim witch!

| CONGRATULATIONS on your continue competition success...it also means we get to see more of your FINE work! The Middenheimer War Band looks SPLENDID in your own inimitable style. VERY WELL DONE!
From my own experience with her, the Witch is a wonderful mini to paint. She looks LOVELY in your color choices... EXCELLENT skin tones.

| Thanks a lot you two! DeafNala, I had to look up inimitable but thank you even more for that! Yes the witch is certainly the highlight of the band. I got it rather cheap as part of a warband that I bought on my homeforum (and mainly for the witch, I have to admit). Sometimes you really struggle with a miniature and nothing comes together the way you imagined it, but the witch was the complete opposite. Suczh a joy to paint! Needs some touch-ups here and there but there will only be time after the competition. Right now I'm working on a jungle-tribe warband using the LotR-Mahud to use in a Lustria campaign in May. | |

| Thanks againg all of you! The blue eyes are actually supposed to show that she is blind. The pupil was less blue first but that just looked "white" from a little distance. Anyways, I like how her looking turned out. @Mo! I use Devlan Mud and the blue and purple wash by GW that I forgot the name of just now. And I also like to thin down my paints for creating shadows that works like using inks I guess. I really like the paints by Reaper for that. Except for the grey-tone I use a lot which isa mix of black and dwarf flesh all my paints come out of the pot, I don't mix anything. So when for example the witch has a green dress, I use several layers of watered down green for the base and black for the shadows. The highlights usually come because I use a grey and white basecoat that shines through the watered down paint. If I feel that a spot needs more highlights, I might drybrush with Kommando Khaki. I hope I didn't explain too difficultly... | |

| She is LOVELY in her own fashion; FINE brushwork & color choices. Her WONDERFULLY pallid complexion & the SPLENDID turban/babushka adds to her character, which makes the mini for moi. VERY WELL DONE! It's good having you back creating & posting again. | |

| I think the details really show off your painting skill. For example, the subtle highlighting on the leather satchel is great, in my opinion. | |

| I thank you a lot for the kind feedback. I finished the next mini that was sitting on my shelf partly finished and I'm much more satisfied with this one, especially the sword. However, I'm getting used to only call a mini finished once I've photographed it and erased the little mistakes only the lense sees. With this one, the grass on the mini did already go, I'll rework the wood on the pistol a little and I want to add some more details. But what? There are not so many details on this Captain, especially compared to the fat one (that I painted for this thread a little while ago). ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR DETAILS ON THIS MINI? | |

| Well, i dont know, but maybe by using a bit of wash or pigment, to imitate rust in the edges and depth of the armour would make it more living? Definatly not more colour, your skill gets very good along without too much colour, like it! _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! Bobby! | He is an no nonsense looking Mercenary Warrior...the subdued, somber colors convey a definite character to the piece. You have a real flair for the understated & subtle. About the only thing that you might do is another highlight on the plume. Otherwise VERY WELL DONE! | |

| EXCELLENT! Your creation was one of the most remarked upon pieces from the Golden Tom. You exceeded your best in brushwork & color choices; the skin tones are WONDERFULLY like a late Renaissance painting. AND the concept is HIGHLY IMAGINATIVE. VERY WELL DONE! | |
