| Great , i loved this piece, and your suggestion toward some highlights in gold on the armour sounds goo, lets have a try! _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! Thank you very much! You know I like and try to imitate the Caravaggio and Rembrandt-style so your remark totally made my day. Since you mention Renaissance, where I got my colour-choices from this time was Boticelli: - floedebolle wrote:

| Okay so concerning my Reikländer Captain, I put some gold on the armour and the "cloak" and did some touch ups on the pistol, the ear, feather and the rear part of the blade. Next up are two Minis I converted from 40k. They are only primed grey so far and the next weeks will be time-comsuming jobwise, but I hope to get them done soon. | |

| That finishes off your Renaissance Warrior in FINE fashion. GREAT WORK! Here's hoping the work load is less than anticipated...we don't want to break the productive flow of things. | |

| I finished a new bowman. Could have been done two weeks ago, but I tried to redo the eyes twice. Finally gave up on it, like so often... I took single photos of him, but they all turned out blurry and I don't want to set up the ... setup again. That's why for now I can only give you a groupshot of him and his fellow adventurers. | |

| Despite my preference for vivid colors, I really enjoy your painting style & somber shades. The Lads look WONDERFUL; GREAT brushwork & attention to detail...the strung bows look SPLENDID. VERY WELL DONE! I also found of late that miniatures photograph much better when two or more pieces are in the same frame...it's another indication of the evil nature of cameras. | |

| Thanks for all the replies! Yes, I am in what DeafNala would probably call my "grey period" (or grim, or dark...). I also like how the minis turn out and it's great that they receive this feedback. The last bowman actually is a little brighter, don't know if you can see it in the pic. I still enjoy painting like that and already have two more minis on my working bench. Nevertheless I was thinking of maybe taking a small break for a couple of minis and paint something a little differently. First, to "broaden my horizon", so to speak and secondly due to the rumours of the next WHFB-Edition coming with round bases. You know I am painting all my human warbands in the same style so that they could become the groundwork of an empire-army in the future. If the new Edition in summer really would bring round bases, I'd be happy for every mini I wouldn't have to rebase. So I was thinking of maybe finishing my 5 Reaper-shadowelves that are semifinished for years now. Or I could just paint some beastmen. There are some conversions waiting to be painted and I would have an excuse to get my hands on the two great sculpts from Runecast: http://www.pk-pro.de/Tiersippe-Keiler-1http://www.pk-pro.de/Tiersippe-Satyr-AEltesterNot easy | |

| A few weeks ago a very senior member of this board here noted that it would probably improve my motivation to paint minis if I would get some feedback over here but in order to do so, I might have to show a pic or two first. I was a little surprised when I noticed that I didn't share anything for a little over two years! BTW, my son's second birthday is next month - coincidence? Well, I did paint a FEW minis and I did show them over at my home forum, but that doesn't help you guys, right? So, enough talk. This is what I also finished in 2015: This is 2016, all in one pic: And this is a quick shot of 2017 so far, with an improved Eshin Assassin from 2016: | |

| Oh my but you have progressed WONDERFULLY. You still have a LOVELY subdued palette & an even finer touch with the brush. The fork wielding fanatic is a TERRIFICALLY evocative, in character piece. I love the night effect on the Rat Guys as well. One & all VERY WELL DONE! Two years late, CONGRATULATIONS! Being a Dad is a GREAT experience. | |

| Thanks a lot Costicker. It's going to grow in a little while, I've got a few more minis assembled/converted or partly painted. But I'll have to paint a few different models before that, only blues for weeks (and month in my case) - it's just not for me | |
