| that looks really good with the blue roof... but if you look in my gallery thread, you'll see that i'm quite a fan of the blue roof already. It gives the impression of slate if you choose the tone correctly.
You've chosen some strong colours, but this building seems to have aceepted them rather well. If you were to paint a whole tabletop in such strong colours however, it may seem a little garish, ala, mordhiem in mardi gras

| That looks really really good. The red chimney doesn't look so out of place any more. The various colours you used for the stones at bottom give the piece a lot more depth and character. I love how the house fits into your autumn table. You do have your own personal style and the table and house look very specific rather than the typical dark Mordheim ruins. I for one don't think everyone should try to copy the Mordheim flair GW shows in the rulebook. Everyone should make the scenery they like best and everyone is free to re-interpretate the city as they like. In the end you can always say you're playing in another ruined city of the Warhammer world. With that being said, you probably couldn't have done it any better, grey-death! | |

| VERY NICE! I LOVE your choice of colors; it's eye-catching without being garrish. The stucco especially appeals to moi. It looks absolutely GREAT on your gaming table. It goes nicely with the backgound scenery & blends perfectly with exicting Autumn colors. WELL DONE, AMIGO! The thing I'm dying to see is what you put on the Dead Man's chest. | |

| Wow, that sure is an impressive building, Ashton. But honestly I do not like the special scissor roof very much. It doesn't look realistic to me. Maybe if I saw some real roofs that looked somewhat similar I'd buy that but for now I doesn't look so good. | |

Oh yea, I don't like them either. You're totally right (that's why I use normal scissors.) but I think that's the best you'll be able to get with scrapbooking scissors.

| Right on! I really love this building! especially those small windows, the ones with the how do you call that, ... those rasters... may I inquire as to how you made that? - My buildings really need a change of windows... and this is just the thing that might give them a better look (tried it on plastic transparant sheets, but didn't really work out.. - Thanks. | |

| I LOVE IT! The flood of TRULY AWFUL puns that flashed through my mind when I saw the sign was incredible [what a rush, man]. ONLY the amount of restraint I displayed in NOT regaling [inflicting them on] you surpasses my admiration of your work; my, what a long convoluted compliment [pats back; dislocates arm ]. Imagining what an ENTIRE BOARD of your structures et al would look like necessitates a cold shower. As always WELL DONE! | |

| Great! The stonewall matches the reast of the table, the building is very well painted and you even introduced a touch of humour. Great work Grey! Let us know when you want this moved to the gallery. It deserves it. _________________ | |

| thin cardboard tends to warp when paint or glue is applied, and may not have the strength to hold the spackle.
thick card may be difficult to work with.
by far, the most convenient material to work with is foamcore, and there are some terrific examples on htis forum of what can be done entirely with it. It is available cheaply from art and graphics stores in sheet form.
pva works quite well, use it liberally, clean away the excess and let it fully dry/adhere before trying to handle it so as to not break the bond.

| Ok, So I realize I've been a terrible updater, and I haven't been around for a while now. But with recent events, I've been slowly drawn back to the game ^_^. One of the local stores in my city has recently changed hands ( yet again -.- ) But this time, it's in the hands of a VERY progressive owner, who really is on the top of his game. I just HAD to give the local scene a try after seeing what he's done with the place already and what his plans for the future are. So I've been stirring up some local support for some hot mordheim action, and to my astonishment, there is a LOT of it around. I've been mustering folks up for the inevitable push into the city of the damned. This has included getting old folks on board, new folks starting warbands, and everyone into fixing up the rather weak mordheim table! That's where we come to my newest piece of terrain! A ruined building inspired by all of the work I've done on The Hanging Man pub/inn. All of the great techniques I worked out with that piece made doing a ruined mordheim building all that much easier! Cue New terrain: I'm very happy with how it's come out for such a fast build and paint. Some things I've done here that I didn't with my hanging man building though: Foamcore floors with the top card stripped away and drawn on floor slats w/wood grain. Faux Brick pattern by painting the red on flat foamcore horizontally over a bestial brown base coat. Soot marks by a heavy drybrush of black. As always C&C welcome and appreciated ^_-. It's good to be back! | |

| Excellent work as always Grey Death. I think my favorite part is the smoke damage on the top floor. Extremely realistic. I also really like how you did the broken bricks. I have never really found a good example of that that really appeals to me. My only critique is that there should be more "single" bricks lying around. I hope to make a return to Mordheim as amazing as yours | |

| Hi grey_death.
Your Hanging Man pub/inn is terrific!
And this second building is very good for gaming purposes, but to my taste, the timbering logs are far too wide, so they look "unrealistic".
Imo, if they were half "fat" it will take you just a few minutes of extra work, but the buiding will look much, much better.
Anyhow, I'm green with envy about your growing group of mordenheimers.
I'm trying to stirr things a little here in Mexico, but it's somehow difficult.
Best wishes, and happy gaming.
