| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World!
I am a relatively new collector of Warhammer and Mordheim miniatures and I simply love them. From the moment I read my first Gotrek and Felix novel, I was instantly hooked. I immediately fell in love with both the Warhammer and Mordheim fluff and their corresponding miniatures. During the course of my love-affair with all things Warhammer, I have steadily amassed a collection of miniatures and I would like to share the work that I have done with them with this community.
For purposes of this thread, I would like to share my Standard Bearers and their respective standards.
I hope you guys like it. | |

| First up, let me share my Empire State Troop Standard Bearer... From his colors, it is obvious that this Swordman is from Talabheim. Here is his unit's Standard... A look from the right side. A look from the right side. The banner, which obviously signifies the unit's loyalty to Karl Franz was drawn free-hand. I hope you guys like it. | |

| Here's a Black Orc with a Banner that was obvioulsly "appropriated" from a Standard Bearer from the province of Nuln... It is not difficult to imagine that the skull attached to the Banner Pole used to belong to the Standard's Original Bearer. | |

| Wow! These are fantastic! The freehand is very impressive, but more than that the style of shading and highlighting on the banner images is truly beautiful. It is at least "illustrator" quality, maybe even "artist" quality work. Very, very cool. | |

| My sincerest gratitude to all of your words of encouragement. Thank you Speckie, folketsfiende, quidamcorvus and WarbossKurgan for taking the time to post your generous comments. @ speckie I draw these banners free-hand on to the Banners directly by first making an outline using the predominant color. I then just simply build up the image by layering colors until I get the desired result. Its just like painting but on an entirely different canvass. As to how long it takes me to finish it, it usually depends on the complexity of the art. @ WarbossKurgan I really do freehand "drawings" and illustrations as a hobby so I guess that also helps. Here are samples of some of my pencils and sketches... Coleman Stryker of Warmachine fame A Chaos Nurgle Warrior Please let me know if you want to see some more of my sketches. | |

| Standards are the heart & soul of a regiment. The loss of a color brings eternal shame to a regiment; capturing an enemy standard bestows immortal glory. From a modeler's perspective they add a splash of color & character to even the seediest of units. Your standards are FINE examples of the genre. AND, surprise, they're one of those things I also love doing. VERY WELL DONE! Your EXCELLENT illustrations are MORE THAN WELCOME. I would suggest putting those that relate to Mordheim & W.F.B. in the Battle Reports & Fluff Section, the genereic fantasy/steam punk in the Shout It Out Fantasy Section, & any Sci-Fi in the Shout It Out Sci-Fi Section. | |

| Thanks for the directions DeafNala. I shall try to open a new thread for my artwork and sketches as suggested. And since Getz loved the Orc with the stolen banner, I would like to share another Orc banner... This guy is an Orc Warboss riding a Boar. I hope that Getz and other Orc players like it. P.S. I surmised that Orcs are, by nature scavengers and they simply assimilate the spoils of whatever poor warband/army they conquer. To represent this "scavenger" predeliction, I used as many colors as possible when I painted them but at the same time, I needed to come up with some way to tie the whole group together - hence the skull themed face paint. | |

| Thank you WarbossKurgan. And since we're speaking of the scavenging nature of Orcs, here is a picture of my Orcs who "made good use" of the Banners of several armies.. Here is an Orc warband raiding a farmstead. Please take note of their loin cloth. It would appear that this group had successfully gone up against some of Karl Franz' state troops from the capital city of Altdorf; a Bretonnian troop in the service of King Leoncouer, and some Reikland and Middenheim troops. | |

| Thank you WarbossKurgan and Speckie for the generous compliments. Let me now share my Ogre Standard Bearer and his living trophy banner... I pity those slayers...displayed in such a shameful manner and deprived of an honorable death. Here's a group shot of my ogres with their grisly "slayer" trophy... | |

LOL! No problemo. Do the slayers move on the chains or are they static? Really loving the idea of it, dwarves only deserve to be an item, like a slave, rather than have the full rights of an actual humanoid. Even if that is an ogre. No I joke... but seriously... =D | |

| Oh man, you seem to have quite a lot of WHFB armys at home Your scavenging Orcs are great, their Reikland underwear is really sexy! The ogres are awesome as well, though I have to protest against the violation of the "humanoid rights" of our rather short fellow citizens! | |

| Thank you very much for your attention and your comments. Now to answer them inidividually... @ Speckie The chains on the Ogre Standard are not static. They do move around. I like the idea of a free-moving standard especially in one that is so themed because whenever I play WHFB with my Ogre army, it gives the impression that these slayers actually struggle to free themselves from their shackles everytime the standard bearer moves. (it also distracts my opponent ) @ Opheliate I actually bought seven skull pass boxed set. I am a huge fan of dwarves and the Skull Pass Boxed set provided me with an opportunity to immediately build two armies at a reasonable price. I am presently working on them right now. Here's a picture of my work thus far... Obviously, the work is far from finished but it does keep me busy. Also, notice the Banners within the unit? They are simply painted with dwarf runes in them. @ Getz I do have a lot of WHFB armies at home much to my wife's consternation. In fact, the only WHFB armies that I never bothered to get are the Lizardmen and the Tomb Kings. @ Kapitan_Hak, Paluke, DeafNala and Bratzor Thank you very much for the generous compliments. Your comments are very much genuinely appreciated and they provide me with the inspiration to post more quality work.
