I thought I'd post these. Maybe they inspire someone to come up with some ideas of their own...

Some years ago I had the idea of playing Capture the Flag in Mordheim so I created banners for my warbands. Beside this purpose I figured they would look great with my warbands gathered around them in the cabinet.
The first one I did was for my Beastman warband. I used a Tuskgor head from Gorthor's chariot (quite an expensive bit to use!) and the pelt cloak of Oglah Khan (another quite expensive piece to use, especially now that I can't re-order them - D'OH!!) as well as some skeleton bits for the base.

Since I would need at least two banners (one for each warband) I made another one for my Reiklanders/Merchant Caravan. For this one I used an actual flag from the Empire State troops (I believe...) regiment box. I decorated the base with lots of bits such as barrels, a chest, a crossbow, swords, a hat and a water bottle so that it would look like the warband's encampment.

Oh, and here are the flags/banners in full colour:

What a great idea, & a pair of excellent models. I have a fondness for banners. They really dress up a unit. I stick them with every unit I do even when they technically can't have one &, therefore, don't count for anything gamewise. My Squig Hoppers & Trolls have banners, for example. The Trolls' [Gouger McGoon's Gourmets] banner sports a crow's nest, a barrel of fungus brew, & a Night Goblin with telescope pointing, &, at least in my imagination, saying "look Trolls, it's Snorri."
The capture the flag from the skirmish scenarios book would be an interesting [I'm resisting the urge to say "cool" or "groovy"; re, I'm stuck in the 60s, man] game to play in a Mordheim setting.. Actually there are a number of scenarios from that book that might lend themselves to a Mordheim/Empire in Flames/BTB settling [I've got to see if I can get my Skirmish book back from the guy I gave it to].
Groovy, man [sigh].

I did write some rules for the banners but that's long long ago and I can't find them now. Even if I did find them they would probably be in German anyways. It's no big loss however, since they were not very good. Scenarios that are not about killing your opponent are mostly about moving as fast as possible, ie. you auto-lose to Skaven - this scenario suffered from the latter.
The idea was to have models carry the banner by moving in base contact with it. Taking the enemy banner to your own base (the big base on which your own banner is positioned) will give your leader +1 Experience or something like that. We never tested it...

We never played the banner scenario from the Warhammer Skirmish book, either, but it might be worth having a look at it. Great idea, DeafNala! Be glad that this is no official forum so I can secretly show you the rules...
