Ted sends reports:

Game 1. "The thing in the waters."
Playtable's Wastelanders vs Ted's Cracked Moon Boyz.

Da boyz went forward on rafts to search the drowned city for loot in the waters. Soon it was obvious da ladz were not da only lootaz in da city. Quickly one of Gooba's Ladz, an Arrer lad and Orus Longhorn decided to search some buildings as a squig decided to leap
off a building and eat a tentacle in the water. Da Gooba's Lad found a blunderbus in an unopened chest. Orus found a tentacle before any treasure and fought it to a stand still. Thunderstorms were rough on handgunners on roof tops. Distracting them from a
rampant squig who took a couple out. The squigs were much more fierce than the thunder.

Screams were heard in the distance as many wastelander pirates fought off tentacled beasts. An Arrer lad found a warplock pistol but was dragged under before he could get to dry land. Da boyz bottled out before da 'umies did and only managed to find two blunderbusses at the end of the day. Thankfully everyone survived the encounter to fight
another day.

Playtable won.
The Wasted Privateers get away with 6 pocket pistols, 3 greatcoats, 7gc & 3 toughened leathers.
But, Sharpie, a gunner, died - eaten by a squig.

The only picture is of after-battle when the models were removed.
Remember, all ground levels are under shallow water.
I think all together we had 9 or 10 tentacles come after us.

Game 2. "Press gang"
Ryan's Sisters of Sigmar vs Ted's Cracked Moon Boyz.

10 drunken ladz and ladies stumbled around in the dark outside the
tavern as da ladz and da girlz decided to press them into service.
Da ladz scored 4 victims and the sisters scored 5. Bitter close
quarters fighting ensued which saw 3 gobos, 2 squigs, an arrer boy and
Burka Firestarta going down to the sisters as every single swabie went
out of action as well as 4 or more sisters. Only one of Gooba's
boyz died. One of the sisters passed on due to becoming a squig's
mouthful.

Ryan's Sisters of Sigmar won. 2 survived victims to my 1.

Week 3—A Massacre at Ossomunte and Other Adventures

The Malevolent 7 gathered again for the Sartosan Serial.

"Rock the Boat"
The fickle winds off the island of Sartosa blew the Dancing Cloud back the way she had come. Rais Haroum took this as a sign from the One and rode the winds to Sartosatown’s harbor. There he hoped to spend the loot gained in the Caves of the Damned and to prepare more fully for an expedition to Vermunte.
The Smugglers arrived off the harbor on a moonless night. Others may have been daunted by the task but the Rais decided it would be a good thing to avoid the rapacious gaze of the Pirate King. The Dancing Cloud glided noiselessly into an empty berth in the busy harbor. The Rais dispatched a shore party to determine the lay of the land and alert a friendly fence. The rest of the crew fell to the task of unloading the cargo and taking on stores.
The shore party had not been gone long when bin Sadaka and one of his guards rushed back aboard.
“The infidel Sartosans unload a prize not 300 yards from us!” Achmet reported. “They have just begun. They have no guards but the prize crew and no ship stands by to aid them. It is an opportunity of wondrous possibility my Rais.”
Haroum smiled broadly at bin Sadaka’s infectious avarice.
“It is their harbor merchant,” he observed. “But security has made them careless. The One exhorts us to vigilance. Let us instruct the infidel in its virtue.”
In a few moments the Arabyans had assembled a boarding party and marched fully armed into the boisterous revels of Sartosa’s nightlife. They made their way without an incident of note to a more deserted section of the quay. There they were guided toward the sounds of industrious looting by the members of the shore party that bin Sadaka had left behind for the purpose.
They had nearly reached the ship when a challenge rang out of the darkness. “Avast there ye pagan lubbers! What business have ye here?”
Haroum considered feigning ignorance of the local language but decided it would buy little time.
“I have come to accept the return of my Sheikh’s good ship and merchandise. It is kind of your King to have collected them for us.”
“Ye what?”
Haroum would have continued the deception but someone nearby fired a pistol. The startled Sartosan was not hit. Still he fetched a pistol from his own belt and returned fire. There was a brief exchange of pistol and handgun fire with a few arrows and crossbow bolts thrown in for good measure. Most of the missiles missed in the darkness. None did any serious damage. The Sartosans rotated a firing line at the rail and blazed away into the gloom. The Arabyans stood along the dock and returned fire at the huge bulk of the ship. Haroum stood in the line along with the rest hurriedly firing and reloading his harquebus.
This noisy exchange continued until Hassam maneuvered himself into an elevated position and scored a lucky hit with an arrow. The skewered Sartosan fell over the side and out of sight. There were no cries for help from the water below. The Sartosan’s fire slackened and Atabeg and Al Bobo led the rush to board. The Sartosans put up a token fight at the rail, but they fled into waiting jolly boats once the smugglers succeeded in boarding.
Post game.
The Sartosans had escaped with a good portion of the cargo, but the Arabyans made a good haul nonetheless. Haroum kept some greatcoats to guard against the notoriously horrible weather of the Haunted Port, but he sold the rest of the spoils. The Arabyans were rushed in their preparations and could not discover any useful information about Toth Amon’s treasures or discover any weapons against the undead beyond their Silver Arrows. Having possibly angered the Pirate King, the Dancing Cloud sailed with the morning tide.
The Sartosans used their spoils from the Caves to purchase a Hochland Long Rifle. “Shudder”

"X Marks the Spot"
The monks of Clan Pestilens raced the Sartosans for a hidden treasure in Ossomunte. The Skaven won the race but were emboldened by the darkness and their success in the Osso Hills against the same crew. Instead of merely fleeing with their loot, the monks turned on the pursuing humans.
The Sartosans beat them down. Dismayed the monks dropped the treasure and fled into the comfort of the night.
Post game.
Once again the Sartosans grabbed a treasure from a crew that had secured it. This cache yielded more loot (I think they found everything possible in a chest.) The Sartosans also discovered information about the Toth Amon’s treasure. (Clue #10 on the Towns Table.)
Casualty reports may have been made, but nothing of note stuck in my head.
(More to follow, t'was a busy night...)

(Oops, oh well I'll post the final installment.)

The Dancing Cloud arrives in Vermunte, the Haunted Port.

“The Cry of the Banshee”
Rais Haroum longed for the sun of Araby. He wished to look on a harbor in the bright day once more before he died. The Haunted Port was living up to its reputation. Haroum had not seen the sun at all this day. Cloud cover and rain had been their lot since they cleared the reef. The outline of the ruined town was indistinct in the heavy rain. Then nearly absolute darkness descended and with it the storm increased in severity. The Wanderer would have kept to the ship on this hellish night but he had seen flickering torches in the ruins.
Someone else moved into the town in this hell of darkness and water. Only urgent business could require someone to leave shelter in this rain. Although it was hard to be certain it seemed the distant procession moved toward the section of town bin Sadaka was most interested in. Haroum roused the crew and whipped them into the face of the storm.
“Forward paladins of the One!” He exhorted them. “The Djinni will flee before us and the unbeliever quail at the sight of our faith!”
Their torches would not light. Nor could the distant lights he had first glimpsed be found again. They entered the haunted town drenched and almost totally blind. Only the stoic presence of the Ancient One kept them going in the right direction.
“This way ye wayward sons of those who follow your True Path!” MacFusson chided them. “Is not the way clear to those who can but see? Avast! Have a care ye monster lubber!”
Men slipped and fell on the wet stones, but Haroum kept them moving. The Arabyans looked ridiculous in turban and greatcoat. Haroum prayed that their powder stayed dry under the infidel garments. He constantly checked his own slow match and fussed with the oiled mechanism of his wheel-lock pistol beneath the leather coat.
Suddenly the storm seemed to screech with an anguished female voice. Men raised their weapons or made signs against evil. “The Djinni!” they cried.
Haroum beheld a sight that froze his soul. The pale, distorted form of a beautiful woman had materialized out of the storm. She menaced Ali with flailing talons, then her face split into an unnatural grimace and she screamed. Ali fell as though struck and the men gave back before the terror.
Only Haji stood his ground. He swung his great sword at the apparition. The blade passed through it with no visible affect but the spirit disappeared back into the storm. Ali slowly regained consciousness and stumbled on.
“It fears the cold iron of ye blades!” Garn shouted at the men. “Ward ye with faith and steel!”
The horrible scream sounded again from the rain swept dark in front of them. Soon the spirit returned. This time the men were prepared. Thus they struggled on through the darkness. The deranged spirit would attack, then retreat into the storm only to return again. From the storm horrible screams would sound even when the spirit could not be seen. Each time she struck, she seemed more distraught and weakened.
“Press on sons of the One!” shouted Haroum. “The Djinni fails! The Faithful will triumph!”
In answer a human woman suddenly appeared out of the gloom of the night and storm. “Pagans and daemon worshippers!” she cried in Reikspeil. “Be gone from here or suffer Sigmar’s wrath!”
Haroum was nearly apoplexic. “Infidel! Loose woman of the streets! Speak not to thy betters lest we smite thee! Hie ye home to ye father’s house and get ye husbands!”
“Ha! Speak not of husbands to the Brides of Sigmar! Ye lot are limp pagan worms of the desert! Pigs and pig-dogs!”
Haroum drew his pistol from under his coat. “Have at them!”
The Faithful fired off a ragged volley, and then charged. Or they attempted to. Even MacFusson slipped on the slick pavement. The stout arms of the Faithful seemed weak and unskilled in the face of the stern resistance of the northern women.
[The top photo in the above post was taken at this point.]
For every woman or girl that fell, two brave champions of the One lay bleeding and senseless. The women gave back before them but Haroum sensed that it was to protect something they had discovered rather than out of fear. Every charge broke on a solid wall of hammer wielding women.
“Leave off ye toothless whelps!” Growled Haroum. “We will try them another day! Away! This cursed night is lost.”
Post game.
The Arabyans find small gain in Vermunte. Al Bobo suffers a chest wound. The rest of the casualties recover their health if not their honor.
The Sister's of Nonnburg Abbey found great riches in the Banshee’s hoard. They also recovered a lost relic of their faith (a holy tome) and discovered one of Toth Amon’s artifacts (yet to be determined).

“The Dark Ritual”
(Also know as the “Massacre in Ossomunte”)
[The bottom photo in the above post is of this game.]
The monks of Clan Pestilens and the undead known as ‘the Fallen’ both attempted to disrupt a minor necromancer’s ritual. The poor victim was doomed from the first as none of the evil factions wished her well.
Using the speed of the vampire and ogre, the Fallen easily cut down the necromancer. After being soundly defeated in the Tavern on the Wall a couple of weeks ago, the monks thought to try their luck with weapons in hand. No good came of this. The earlier fight in the bar crippled Leecher, the censor bearer, and Mad Snaroose. This skirmish was their last as living skaven. The sorcery of the necromancer known as the Theogonist animated their bodies. Scrat the Sorceror had an arm ripped clean off. Scrat survived, but the decimated plague monks disband.
The Fallen gain much experience and wealth from the fight. In addition they discover a Friendly Flag to aid their depredations.

“Sneaking Into Town”
The crew of the Dancing Cloud returned north to Sartosatown. Morale was low and Haroum constantly went armed. To add to their misery they found the harbor closed to them since they liberated the Pirate King’s prize. Because the best fences and information could only be found in Sartosa, Haroum made landfall at the sister port of Roba. From Roba the crew rowed back across the bay in well-laden jolly boats toward Sartosa.
Haroum intended to sneak the loot into town under cover of darkness and dispose of it with Achmet’s usual contacts. As usual of late the night was overcast and moonless. The smugglers found the pirates prepared for them. Sentries paced everywhere. Frustrated and angry, Haroum refused to abandon the plan. He marched the crew further from the sea and approached the suburbs. Here the walls had long been scavenged for stone to repair the crumbling defenses of the harbor.
There were still sentries but with no walls to defend the sentries were spread out thinly. Even so the smugglers first attempt to dispatch one went horribly wrong and the wretch raised the alarm.
Haroum ordered the crew to press on. The sentries re-enforcements were slow to arrive. When they did they were disheartened by the carnage wrought on the defenders. The Wastelanders fled.
Post game.
The smugglers captured 2 of the fallen privateers. Both chose to convert rather than face slavery. Bin Sadaka was unable to discover any information of worth concerning the fabled treasure of Toth Amon. However the rest of the heroes have much wealth to spend in the bazaars and marketplaces of the pirate town.
The Wastelanders lament their losses.

Chapter 3 of the Chronicles is not ended, but the plot has thickened. Several clues have been found and plots laid to best make use of them. (Haroum's came to nought...) The Nuns have recovered an artifact although they have not yet identified it.

Next: Sundayheim and the saga of Kaptain Og…

Nice scenery, that table looks "crowded" with buildings, by the way, how did you make the stone work on the streets? looks like a plastic sheet with a pre made pattern, i've been looking for stuff like that, having no luck so far Sad

On behalf of the committee, thanks mate. (I think we're mostly looking at Playtable's buildings in these shots. Anything riser like or unpainted is mine or the store's.)

The brickwork on the streets is textured, paintable wallpaper from Menard's or Lowe's. I don't have any unopened rolls about anymore so I can't tell you a manufacturer. I got a similar product more recently from Lowe's made by Graham & Brown in England. (grahambrown.com)

WbK--do you know the manufacturer?

Sundayheim 3.5--Og pays a visit to Sartosa.

"Down on the Docks"
It was a dark and windy night in old Sartosa-town. Og was being 'tricksy-like'. Guarding some humie smugglers for a share of the cargo. Pesky Estalian crew stuck their noses in again. Brought them gits Noob and Jaff'r. Bloodied both their noses, hur!
Tricksy spiky elfs sneak up from the north. Humies form the south. Smugglers can't see much in the dark even with the moon being almost full, so there was no artillery support to speak of. Spiky elfs got these scary lizard-dog things. No fair, except that the dog things are stupid, hur!
Elfs nearly run right over Magog and Alee Bahbla. No care about the Bliddy Red Banna! Nasty elf girl stick Alee. Stamp on Banna! The ladz shoot that elf girl dead. Skippy, hoppy elf try to leap a hole. Try to get at Magog. It was windy. Elf land on his head! Hur! Magog call on Mate Mork. Mate Mork burn up an elf. Elf run! Sorted.
Things look bad to the south. Damn scrawny humie cutting on everybody. Scar Killa and Hacka up good. Gobos littered bleeding all over the docks. Humies make big noise with their guns, can't hit nothing. Spyka can't hit nothing with the booma. Og looks around, not too many ladz between him and them cutting fool humies. Og back up a bit. Yell louder. Shoot arrows into the dark.
Humies run out of goblins. Run out of scrawny gits, too. Got to fight with the real ladz. Flash doxie with big pistols try to rub out Goochi Hooch. Goochi Hooch kill that doxie dead! The Estalians flee!
Post Game.
Damn elfs capture a new git. Don't recall his name. Elfs make him goblin crew for the ship. Elf Sorceress die. Sorted that. Elf recruit a new one.
Estalians lose Senorita Conchita and her long barreled pistol and her sword pistol. Hur! Nobody get promoted for running from gobbos! Hur!
Og gets rich off the rescued smugglers. Corner the market on garlic, toughened leathers and grog! Buy himself a shiny new blunderbuss. Shoot holes in a buncha gits trying to learn to use it proppa!

"The Long Pier"
Couple days go by. Og decide to take short cut across the harbor to that crazy Blow Hole place. Get him some fungus brew! The Banna Boyz are taking their time, checking out the ships in the harbor when something start to growl.
Damn elfy-things blocking the way. Say all goblin go around, get out of elf's way. Li'l pest new git march out, tell Og to get off 'peer'.
Og say, "Ize cain't effen looks? Zog ye!"
That tears it. Alee waving da Banna. Og yelling "No prizners! Ize iz da Dred Pirat Og! No prizners!"
Lizard dogs roar and chomp. Killa take another scar. Gee Haad sorts that. Hoppy-Skippy try for old Spyk'a. Not windy, not wet. He slip on dock, fall overboard, land on head. All the boyz stop and hoot! That elf is good times!
Elf get tired of fun and run off. Og say "drinks on Magog!" Head off for Blow Hole. Sorted.
Post Game.
Elfs--New Git becomes a hero with the dark elfs. They are not thrilled. New Git figures not to live a long life. Give him title: Head Bilge Sanitizer and Cold One Snack. Give New Git pointy hat (and some spikes.)
Gobbos--Goochi Hooch get him a blunderbuss. Everybody hide, so he shoot gulls. Og still no find nothing 'bout that Tooth Amish guy. Get lots of loot from an unattended ship on the 'peer'. (Og don't know why is 'peer'. Looks same as any dock...)

End of Chapter 3.
Next week the warbands will make their final preparations to sail for Araby.

PostSubject: Re: The Treasures of Toth Amon   The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 Icon_minitimeSat 8 May 2010 - 5:51

Week 4--Gold, Grog and Glory!

First we got some of the unanswered questions of last week out of the way. The Sister's of Nonnburg Abbey discovered the Vambrances of the Sun in the Banshee's hoard. The Vambrances count as a Minor Artifact of Toth Amon's Treasure.

"X Marks the Spot"
The Sartosans decided to reveal Clue #10: "Artifact—The hero finds an ancient map. It shows the location of the treasure hoard of a band of pirates active during the reign of the Priest Kings. For your next battle in the Caves of the Damned you may automatically pick the scenario X Marks the Spot. If your warband wins you may add +4 to any searches for a clue after the game."
The Wasted Privateers followed them into the Caves. There the Sartosans were set upon by swarms of vermin. The tiny creatures held the pirates up while the Wastelanders searched unimpeded. The Privateers found the treasure almost immediately and began to move it out of the Cave. Despite their best efforts the Sartosans could not prevent the Privateers from escaping.
Post Game.
The treasure chest held a sword, light armor and some gc. The Privateers recruited 2 more gunners and found another sword. They also found everyone's favorite--hardtack!
The Sartosans were able to turn defeat into victory. They discovered a cargo of weapons and found themselves a Long Rifle (they have 2 now.) In addition they discovered Clue #7 which will aid them when they reach Araby.

"The Deadly Channel"
Haroum peered into the inky blackness of the night. They had been caught in the barrier islands at dusk, still not in sight of the Dancing Cloud. Rather than spend a night on the Djinni haunted islands Haroum elected to row for the ship. Now they rowed slowly through the night as distant thunder boomed across the waters and crocodiles roared like lions from hidden coves.
Suddenly a bolt of white lightning struck nearby, briefly illuminating another small flotilla in the same channel. Orcs and goblins! The crew armed themselves and swung their craft into a ragged line abeam across the channel. From the darkness they could hear raucous shouts, jeers and battle cries. Crossbow bolts flashed out the dark and lodged in the sides of the row boats. The men feared the orcs would stand off and pick them off unseen, but Garn McFusson jeered at their fears.
"They've the advantage, aye! But stand off and shoot? Orcs? Are ye daft as well as blind? Yon they come ta board us!"
First some of the hopping, fanged things bounded out of the darkness. (They used a convenient bridge to stay out of the water.) One was caught by the volley of arrows that met the first target the men could see. The other leapt into the last boat in line. Atabeg plucked it out of the air with his whip. A ragged cheer went up from the men.
The lead boat was commanded by Akbar al Kuds. The boat was raked by crossbow fire and lost its oars. Unable to control their craft the men drifted toward the orcs' rafts. Akbar fired his blunderbuss full into the packed mass on the nearest raft, but to his dismay the orcs' hides were tougher than his shot.
Luckily for the men in the boats, one of the rafts had hung back to pepper them with bolts. Thus 3 packed boats were able to attack 2 of the orc's rafts. Even with advantage of numbers against them the orc heroes were able to withstand the Arabyan attack.
Akbar was dealt a wicked blow to the head and fell. His sailors and soldiers ravened about the huge orc like jackals around a lion, but the third raft finally crashed into the mass of combatants and boats and Haroum called retreat!
Post Game.
Akbar suffers Madness. Naturally he becomes Stupid. The rest of the human casualties survive their injuries. Despite their defeat the Arabyans discover a treasure map and a cargo of alcohol. Since they do not indulge they sell it at a tidy profit.
The Cracked Moons gain a Lads Got Talent hero. And get rich.

"The Hulks I"
The Fallen raised a storm and pounced on the Wasted Privateers. The Privateers sought to search the Skull Sands for treasure but found only the undead and their minions. The storm dampened the pirates' powder. Without the protection of their guns the privateers were easy prey.
The lead boat was attacked and sunk by a crocodile. "The crew drug themselves to land to stand in front of an ogre bodyguard, necromancer and 2 dregs..." [Playtable]
Ms. Shurley fought Leecher's animated corpse. She was able to defeat the creature. Meanwhile the Vampire rowed to shore in the company of more ghouls and charged!
Mrs Wolfgang, a ship's mate, is overthrown by 2 ghouls. "The vampire charges Marley, the LGT gunner, and one of the new sword-wielding gunners." The new gunner is killed.
The ogre charged crewman Brunner and killed him as well.
The necromancer, Dead Snaroose and "some ugly wolf-man-headed greatsword guy", all charge the other new gunner and kill him as well.
"I wisely rout at the first opportunity."
The privateers replace 2 gunners and are able to buy equipment for them. The cargo they fought so hard to recover is revealed to be grog. The survivors rejoice! (Playtable is not amused since he is not convinced of grogs usefulness.)
The Fallen are joined by a Dark Elf Assassin (returning a favor). In addition they also discover a clue.

"The Lost Mines"
Clan Pestilens returns. They lured the nuns deep into the Caves in an attempt to ambush them. Sadly the caves were brightly lit by the glow gems of the ancients. (Chad rolls an 18 for range of vision.) The Sisters Tilean servant can see any skaven sniper as soon as he's in range. 2 Pestilens heroes are killed in the ensuing debacle.
Clan Pestilens starts over again.
The nuns find all kinds of interesting things but must rush off to meet an appointment.

"The Lost Prince"
A rumor that Prince Skekmet III had been ship wrecked drew the Cracked Moons, the Sartosans and the crew of the Dancing Cloud to an island in the Skull Sands. The day was fog shrouded and gloomy. The 3 crews stumbled through the mist toward the plaintive cries of the prince.
The orcs and the Sartosans started to skirmish which spooked the delicate lad toward Haroum's men, (as was right and proper in any case!) Haroum personally took charge of the lad and led him to safety. Mad Akbar commanded the rear guard action. The Cracked Moons brushed aside the Sartosans. However the delay meant their forces were spread out when the mist cleared enough for the Arabyan archers and handgunners to see. The opening volley really did little to slow the beasts. Good steel at least made them stand back a bit...
Post Game.
Blondie (a former Wastelander) is killed by orcs.
The prince's father rewards the victorious Haroum with 22 gold crowns and a plain shield...Fortunately Haroum is able to decipher the treasure map found earlier and liberates a cached cargo of--foodstuffs... (Yawn.)
Not the wonderful treasure it might have been. However the food is wrapped in a Red Flag. The Arabyans may now fly the Red Banner against the depredations of the Undead.
The Cracked Moons gain another LGT hero. 2 boyz were killed by the Arabyans. One is captured and sold into slavery.
The Sartosans also find a Treasure Map. 1 of the crew is killed by the orcs. Another is captured after the fight by the Arabyans and sold as well. The Arabyans are able to recruit an experienced pirate to replace Blondie.

"Treasure (Wyrdstone) Hunt"
Chad's newest Clan Pestilens fails to ambush the Wastelanders as well. Although not as brightly lit the humans can still see 16" in the "dark".
The humans attempt to dominate the center of the cavern. In so doing they disturb a swarm of rats. Clan Pestilens moves toward the distracted humans but despite the stubborn resistance of the vermin enough humans pay attention to thwart the skaven plan.
Ms Shurley and Mrs Wolfgang dispatch the vermin swarm eventually.
The skaven wizard advances to attempt his devastating spell--and is not close enough. He is shot down.
The newly recruited gunners are killed. Another gunner is incapacitated (but will recover.)
Little Billy (Little Tommy's replacement) defeated a giant rat. He faced the dread Leecher III next. Ms Shurley saved him! (Ms Shurley and the inept Leecher III who failed to wound on a roll of 1).
Little Bobby defeated an initiate and Captain Higgins shot down a Plague Monk. "Rats run."
Playtable recruited new gunners and found new equipment for them. (He lost 5 henchmen over the evening,) Exploration netted the Wastelanders another swabbie,
Everyone who was following the games paused to watch Chad roll for injuries. Mostly nothing died and then, when he rolled for the first hero he rolled a '1'! Followed by a '6' and a sigh of relief. All Skaven heroes live through a game!

"The Hulks II"
The Fallen haunt the Skull Sands. Eventually another band of pirates tries their luck at the ships' graveyard. The undead swarm out of their hiding places.
The Sartosans attempted to provoke the lurking crocodiles and make them attack the undead flotilla. The vampire killed the crocodiles. Then the undead claimed wreck after wreck. The pirates gave back grudgingly but they eventually broke.
Post Game.
Only one pirate is lost in the struggle. Dead Leecher was destroyed in the fight for the center wreck. The Sartosans have better luck with the pirate treasure than the Arabyans did (although I can't remember specifics at the moment...)

Chapter 4 of the Chronicle ends with the loot laden pirate ships returning to Sartosa. The Sartosans have found enough information to lead them to Araby. The rest of the pack will likely follow. But first everyone will gather their final provisions and crew for the voyage.

New version of The Hulks l & ll. Same battle, just a diferent perspective. Sent in by The Fallen (Undead)

The Fallen update:
Game 1 vs. Playtable's Wasteland Pirates (or Wasted Privateers)

The hulks
3 hulks and 2 giant crocs on the board in the rain. Shooting was hampered and powder got soaked.
Both crocs go for pirates. The undead zombies advance with dregs and Minitauro in tow. Croc 1 attacks pirate boat and wounds it.
Skaven zombie jumps into boat but can't hurt anyone, nor do pirates hurt back. vampire and ghouls circle around the middle hulk as the human gunfire tries to drive off the crocs.
Croc sinks boat with humans and the zombie. All scramble ashore with soaked powder. Pirate boat 2 comes aground as well. Minitauro, zombies, necromancer and dregs charge, vampire and ghouls charge the other flank.
Humans flee the onslaught. The dead find a clue.

Game 2: the Hulks vs. Sartosan Pirates
croc 1 goes for the pirates, vampire goes for croc 2 in his boat. Both crocs charge. Vampire spears croc 2 to death. Croc 1 harrasses humans all game. Minitauro (minitar looking ogre) and most of the dead advance and take the middle hulk, humans spend lots of time shooting croc 1 and at the dead.
Vampire and ghouls row quickly to hulk 3, with 4 pirates aboard. Clear weather allows humans to pick off a skaven zombie, putting him to rest for eternity. The rest of the dead watch the crocodile sink a human boat. The vampire Markos, and fester the ghast and Martigan climb up the side of hulk 3. Fester is shot, critically by a smelly pirate. The shot ricochets into Markos, causing a wound! Fester is taken OOA, but fully recovers later. Markos jumps on 2 humans and sends them OOA while Martigan dispatches the other. A 4th human jumps off the side of the boat.
the dead decide to jump in after the swimming humans, with no real effect. Markos jumps off the side of the boat after the fleeing human, stubs his toe and falls. Luckily he takes 1 S1 hit that has no effect.
The game ends on turns with victory for the dead with 3 hulks. The dead find a handgun in a crate.

Week V—Marauders!

(Von Kurst) "I was on vacation last week but the campaign still drew 7 players. ‘Mr. Jones’ is running a Marauder crew."

“Pressgang”

The Wasted Privateers had come to Sartosa to recruit some replacements. Clan Pestilens was there for a more sinister reason.
The Wastelanders were pretty effective at recruiting, although one of the mates was cut up by a drunk. The Wasted pressgang subdued the drunken swab with a musket ball and dragged him off.

The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 PressGang01

The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 PressGang02</A>

They netted 4 swabs for no loss. Clan Pestilens lured one drunk away into the night never to be seen again.
Wasted Privateers win by the ‘most drunks’ recruited rule.

Post Game.
All injured warriors recover. The Wastelanders grabbed another swab off the docks and looted a pet store for a parrot. They also hired a Warlock. This leaves them with a net of 4 swabs recruited and 2 ‘referred’ to other crews (sold as galley slaves most likely.)

The Skaven found some unattended cargo that contained a blunderbuss.

Week 5

“The Great Gun”

The newly arrived Marauders challenged the Sartosans for one of the fort’s cannon.
The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 GreatGun01</A>

The Sartosans beat the Marauders into submission then dragged the cannon to their own ship.
The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 GreatGun02</A>

No reports of casualties have reached the authorities, but the game looked bloody. Sartosans win.

Post Game.
The Sartosans hired a local Warlock to keep up with the Wasted. They loaded the gun on to their caravel in preparation for the trip to Araby. As usual they also discovered a clue to Toth Amon’s Treasure.

Week 5, more...
“Perteck da Boss’ Runt”
(Da Cracked Moons Protect the Prince)
‘Hiz eckzalted Bossyness’ ordered Hacka Legslasha to show his boy the town of Ossomunte. Naturally da Flash Git had a hankering to see the famous Blow Hole. Hacka allowed that it didn’t seem like that would be too hard to arrange…
Da boyz dee-ploy. Blow Hole in sight. Hamma Chickies to the left.

“The orc forces were divided, shooty orcs vs. the Dead and their Dark Elf and squigs vs. Sisters. A couple of drunks roamed a courtyard in the center of the table. (They look like zombies.) Some squigs attacked some Sisters who slung rocks at the orcs.” [Skeptic]
Bad things happened out in the open. Da Flash Git couldn’t make up his mind if he wanted to go to the Blow Hole or drool by a wall.
Hamma Chickies and Dedfings swarm all over. “Vampire, Minitauro and Fester the Ghast charged into the courtyard and took out the drunks, then fended off a weak counter charge by an orc henchmen.
Orc shooters traded shots with Dark Elf with nothing happening.

A tough, fear causing orc hero killed a zombie while the rest of the Dead retreated from his T5+Resilient bad self. Tough orc heroes charged into Sisters causing massive counter charges.” [Skeptic]
Borack Firestarta, the shaman, got into a scrap with that bloodsucker Marcus. Good fight. Borack rubbed out. Marcus grab da Flash Git.
Game over.
Post Game.
Borack Firestarta is raised as a zombie by the Fallen. The Fallen loot da Flash Git for his gubbinz. A zombie may have been destroyed. No other information is available.

Week 5, still more...

“Sneaking into Town”

The Wastelanders were taking their turn guarding a fence’s warehouse. The Sartosans braved the rainy night to loot it.

“The Sartosans took out the 4 swabbies and a gunner sentry early on. My 3 blunderbusses did nothing.” (It’s raining after all.)
The gunner sentry gets it.

A swabbie swarmed by Sartosans (including the Sartosan Captain with Hunting Rifle.)

Another swabbie is cut down while Captain Higgins peers into the rainy gloom.
The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 Breakthrough05

The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 Breakthrough06

The fight is a disaster for the Wasted. They flee into the night.

Post Game.

Wasted Privateers: “I had the Mate with the parrot (Ms Shurley) die, as did Klouse, my best gunner, and both new blunderbuss gunners and of course all 4 swabbies ran away.

OUCH !

Oh, and Little Bobby got a leg wound.

I did capture one of the Sartosans' crew.

All in all not a good night for me.”

Sartosans: found another clue.

Week 5, the last at last...

“Down on the Docks”

Chadwicc sends a report:

“We were held up by the crowds, slowly making our way to the ship and then spent a couple of turns being trampled and knocked down after I shot and killed the aft swivel gunner.
The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 DownattheDocks01

I made a quick dash to the treasure…

(Oh look! A magical boarding ramp)
The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 DownattheDocks02

The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 DownattheDocks03

… and tried to hold the Norseman back so I could make my escape.
The Treasures of Toth Amon - Page 2 DownattheDocks04

After a couple rounds back and forth of bad rolls on both sides and lots of successful Step Aside rolls, my dice finally crapped out on me. I routed.

Post Game.

Clan Pestilens: I left with two crates in my possession. In them I found a dose of black lotus and garlic for each member of my warband. The only casualty at the end of the game was the censor bearer. I lost another one! But, one of the Novices stepped up (LGT) and took his place, and due to a good hunting trip I was able to find him another Censor from a vendor.” </A>
