| are these still your rules for the katana?
Katana Availability: Rare 10 Cost: 20 gold crowns
Strength +1
Special Rules: Two-handed Parry
I found them on some spec games forums so I dont know if you have changed it. regardless, I'll be following your rules for sake of simplicity and to reduce confusion.
Cheers,
Tom |

| I´ve downloaded the 2nd part and i really have to congratulate you again, you did a superb job Reading through it a question concerning this random encounter occurred to me: 63 War of the Gods The eternal battle between the Ruinous Powers rage and two old rivals descend upon this very battlefield. Roll a D6 twice, ignoring 5-6 and duplicates, to determine which gods are involved in this battle: 1=Khorne, 2=Slaanesh, 3=Nurgle, 4=Tzeentch. Roll 2D6 for each leader of a warband affiliated with those gods. etc. etc....... What happens if no warbands affiliated with chaos are involved? My guess would be nothing at all, but i could be wrong..... | |

Yes, indeed. Nothing happens. While some players will breathe a sigh of relief at this, others might like to re-roll the event. Both is fine, of course.

| Thanks a lot! We are really overwhelmed by the positive feedback we're getting. It proves that all the hard work was worth it after all and that the Mordheim community is well alive and hungry for good material. | |

| Excellent work on the newest BTB! Really fantastic stuff. I love the Restless Dead warband - I was always disappointed that the Undead Warband in the Mordheim book didn't have skeletons, so it's great to see them represented (along with Wights, and, my favourite, the scarecrows!).
Oh, really nice hired swords as well!

| I can only agree with Hawkeye, an excellent continuation of your work and the restless dead are nicely different! I would have liked a slight redesign of the necromancy spells to accomodate the new skeletons (somewhat like the zombie-effect spells, it seems a shame that you can re-raise only zombies ), but that is just about my only critcism. I love your exploration charts, the idea to include some encounters that advance the storyline is very neat. And the more nasty encounters fit into the storyline exceedingly well, even if they can wipe out half your warband . But i wonder if the special encounters will be necessary to complete the storyline, as i´ve seen whole campaigns go by without anyone getting more than four of a kind (even with elven ranger and the augur).... Do you plan to print or list all the possible ways/rules to influence this roll so that people can increase their chances even if they don´t have (for example) the rabbit´s foot rules ? | |

| Thanks Horatius (and Hawkeye)! Some of the exploration events are needed for some of the warband objectives, some are only additional ways of fulfilling the objectives. Let's take the "Broadsword of Damnation" for example. This mighty Chaos artefact is wielded by Belandsysh, a special character in BTB. To get his sword - which you will want to do as a Scion of Chaos (played by Marauders, Beastmen or Norse or...) - you can either hire him (which is very expensive) and then send him against your opponents and hope they take him out so that you can then pick up the sword from his dead body - if your opponent wasn't faster, that is! Another way is to wait for the random happening "42-43 Belandysh comes!" (see BTB Part 2). Then the warbands can try to slay the non-player model. However, waiting for a random happening to occur is not the best strategy so you can either gather information in the Traces to Emprise scenario (see BTB Part 2) and when you are allowed to play the Lost Caravans scenario (BTB Part 6), the grateful merchant may give you information about Belandysh's whereabouts, thus enforcing the Belandysh comes result on the random happenings chart. Or you could purchase some Maps of Cathay (this replaces the Mordheim Map) and if you are lucky they depict the way to Belandysh. As you can see, there are numerous way to achieve certain objectives. Not all of them can be fulfilled in so many ways, but we did try to make things interesting. The rolls on the exploration charts are really important because every warband can get a lot out of them. Therefore buying lots of Tarot Cards, Wyrdstone Pendulums and spare Lucky Charms is very useful here and we made it a viable strategy to focus on the exploration phase. I wrote a two-page article about how you can locate the various artefacts and what other strategies there are but that does take away a lot from the fun. It's way more exciting to have a look at the various options and possibilites for yourself and then based on that develop your own tactis to win the campaign. I wrote the article mainly for our gaming groups, ie. for the sake of play-testing. I will publish the article on the BTB site but only after the entire supplement has been released, so you can expect to see the article at around mid december (yes, we do plan way ahead in the future). Thanks for the interest and reading all this. | |

| Only 2 more parts left to go! It's been great so far. Really inspiring me to get stuff started on my Sartosa setting. Thanks for all the hard work. My only gripe with any of it so far is Marauder Heroes not having access to throwing axes. That's my ONLY complaint though. | |

| Excellent! It's here! I've had a very quick read through it, and so far I've loved it all. It's great to read battle reports for Mordheim, as games can always be so different from scenario to scenario, and even from group to group.
I have a bone to pick with you though. I'm working on my Gunnery School warband, and it's been difficult to stay on track because I've been very tempted by, first, a Marauder warband (this is your fault!), and, second, a Restless Dead warband (your fault again!). Now I'm being tempted by yet another of your warbands - Ogres! Seriously, though, eacn installment brings new inspiration, and it's fantastic to feel this enthused about the game, and to see the enthusiasm of others. Fantastic work.
Oh, I do have a question - Cathayan Longsword (as a weapons option for an ogre captain) - what are the rules?
Thanks! | |
