| cianty, I just noticed that all the links to GW UK are not working anymore, as this site has now become the same big online shop like the US site... | |

| Hey, just had a thought. Do you need any drawings for the supplement? I'm a pretty alright drawer and I could knock out a couple of B+W drawings if you needed, I'm the cartoonist for the university newspaper so a lot of what i do is quite cartoony but I learned how to draw by drawing fantasy figures really. I don't really have time to do any colour work due to lame university! Anyway here are a few examples of the more cartoony stuff I've done: - Spoiler:

Thanks a lot for that offer, Jack! That's some good suff! I particularly like the image with the blonde hair in the wind with the strong background. Now had you made this offer one year ago... As I wrote in the news entry we are pretty much done (and you may have seen the PDFs) and layouted and I'm currently putting the gallery together. So what we're looking for now are photos of miniatures and terrain by other players who got inspired by the BTB supplement so far.

Ha ha, I've been getting a few such requests recently. This depends on too many factors for me to say anything about it now. It mainly depends on how people keep reacting to BTB. Fan-based projects are quite unrewarding efforts most of the time so you gotta make sure you are doing it for the right reasons (in other words: not for fame and fortune but for your own personal enjoyment). There are so many people without whom I couldn't have pulled this off... but I'll wait with the thank you until after the full release. For now, I can say that there IS a project I've been working on. It contains many of the ideas I had during the development of BTB but that I couldn't include for numerous reasons. It does have a name and it does have a setting. But, again, I need to see people actually playing (and converting warbands for) BTB rather than just say "oh, this looks great, can you do more?" to really justify me spending a great deal of my free time on such a project. Anyways, if I start working on another such mammoth project the fine folks of TBMF are the first to know. That's for sure!

| Heh. I still need playtesters for Sartosa, coming out soon....
But Cianty, I didn't notice the 'improved' Norse Warband in any of the supplements, and the link to the warband on the site is broken. I'm only asking 'cause I want to have the Throwing axes and any corresponding skills to be the same for the Troll Slayers and Slayer Pirate Warbands. (As you've often mentioned, if fan-based works support each other, it'd be a much stronger Mord-iverse.)

'Cause it wasn't in any of them - just like the Marauders and Chaos Dwarfs which have been published in various fanzines already. The Norse didn't need a release in the instalments as they are a Lustria warband. They will be included in the full supplement but they are no "BTB warband" so I didn't want to put them in the issues as I don't mean to claim creatorship of it. - StyrofoamKing wrote:

Nope, it's not. I fixed it a few days ago thanks to a mail I received about it being broken. It should work now. If, for whatever weird reason, it still doesn't work for you, please let me know so we can find out why. But I'm sure it will work now. Maybe you need to clear your browser's cache? - StyrofoamKing wrote:

Hm... this is just a re-release. Not a re-write. We didn't change any of the rules. So you can find all of them in the original Town Cryer release. Again, we just incorporated the later official errata from Town Cryer and adjusted the background/introduction. The rules have remained untouched. Now leave my ship, ye scruvy dog!

| Awesome. I was not sure, but the original creator of the Norse was on the SG forum about a year ago, mentioning how he wanted to 'fix everything.' Part of it included throwing axes, hence my concern.
Sorry that Sartosa's taking so long to get out... I've also 'National Novelist Writing Month', so I'm trying my darnedst to finish a 50 thousand word novel in 30 days... which cuts down my tiem to make websites. Wish me luck on both accounts!

I know. You can read my personal point of view regarding this matter earlier in this thread. EDIT: By the way, I don't think "original creator" is the right term here.

| Well, maybe 'orignal creator' is not quite accurate, but he was part of the Lustria team, which makes him closer to the source than, say, me. True enough that there is no sense in fixing what isn't broken, but that's not to say that printed=unbroken, so I thought it was worth researching before deciding permanently what the rule should be. What's old saying? "Listen to everyone, follow no one?" Anywhoo, thanks for the info, Cianty. The BTB supplement sets the bar for all Mord supplements to come. | |

Regarding the above Excel download, Merchant Caravans get 600 gc to start out with right? The Excel file only gives them 500 to start out with. Or perhaps I am mistaken?

| You are right. I will immediately contact Kadzik and ask him to fix this. Unfortunately I can't do it myself because I don't have Excel installed on my laptop. For the remaining gold crowns you simply need to edit the "=500-B8" to "600-B8".
Thanks a lot for spotting this!
EDIT: Fixed. You can now download the corrected file from the website.

| Hello folks.
While true that the chap called Jeff who has been active in Norse discussion on the SG Forum's is part of the Lustria team, it is known that he was not the designer of the Norse warband. Anyone who has conversed with Jeff will understand that he does what he is talking about.
What is interesting to me, is that Styro is querying the workings of a throwing axe, with respect to using them in another setting.
Being a dab hand in the throwing of axes into zombies faces, I have recently raised the same matter regarding the inconsistency of the Mordheim throwing axe with its Warhammer counterpart.
While there are a few 'natural' inconsistencies in Mordheim, which typically allow a rule for a skill or a weapon to be superseded by something more advantagious, the throwing axe has been allowed to slide in the opposite direction.
In the Lustrian supplement, throwing axes were listed in the Norse warband equipment as a 'counts as' item, for throwing knives. What clearly should have happened was that the throwing axes (like javelins) should have been included as a specialist weapon type. I would describe this as an oversight.
Throwing axes convey a +1 Strength modifier when hurled at an enemy model. This plain and simple Warhammer fact is not conveyed in the game rules of Mordheim. Throwing axes have only ever appeared in the Lustria supplement so far as I know.
There is a window to correct this and apply a new cost in the Border Town Burning Supplement. At the moment I am not sure whether Christian is prepared to take this step because it involves changing one of the rules from the original warband list, which is something that neither of us wanted to do. All we wanted was to include the official errata that was known to have been provided by the designers.
The reason why I made this (perhaps) unnecessarily dramatic post was because; i) there was general talk of throwing axes within the thread by a fellow developer who has shown an interest with respect to axes being used by another warband ii) mention has been made of one of the Lustrian team having had an interest in revising the item iii) plain and simply put it has been bugging me this month!
Regards,
Stuart. | |

| The official release date for the full BTB supplement is December 20th. Just in time for Christmas so you will have something to read over the holidays. I apologize that this has been delayed so many times but we've always been trying to make it better and better. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. I look forward to hearing from you all how you like it. One week to go... | |

| Hi Cianty! When do you put the finished version of BTB online? I am eagerly awaiting the pdf, i want to use my marauders in a full campaign in their "native" environment, not just in the empire . I have even used the time spent waiting for it to make some opponents (a battle monks warband) and to expand them a little bit....so please publish it as a christmas present | |

| I was going to post it yesterday. Stu and me were working overtime the last couple days to finish the gallery section and other minor tidbits. So while I was at about 99% complete yesterday I did an incredibly stupid thing, caught a virus and now my laptop is not usable (I'm currently posting from another PC). The day was runied and I'm still not over it really... There's no data loss or anything but I can't work on it properly now. I'm currently installing software, customizing thunderbird and firefox and all that suff on this PC. I have no clue when I will be able to finish the supplement - let alone upload it (I'm using a weird WLAN stick that's disconnecting every couple minutes). Yeah, I'm pretty pissed off... | |

We're like the little wide-eyed children on christmas eve waiting for Santa Claus. Thank you for all your effort.
