Foot paints his warbands!

Right so i have been remaking my warbands HERE so i have made this log for the painting

This log will probably take longer to get going, seeing that i like to take my time with painting normally and i wanna get them looking half decent

Anyway, heres the first painted things, the Hounds! they need names, ideas are welcome





Hmm just noticed i need to paint around the bottom of the bases to blacken them in. but other than that they are all done.

Oh, and just so you know - I'm totally stealing that idea for making large-ish minis fit on the small bases. That's so simple+genius (vs putting cliffs sticking out on top) I'm currently facepalming over not thinking of it first

First off, my thanks to you for posting these dogs in your other thread. I have been searching for some good looking wardogs, and your mention of these led me to a purchase.

The painting is great, especially on the white dogs; white is such a hard color to do well.

The bases are ingenious. They look more like rubble than any I've seen thus far. I love that the griminess of the bases carries up to the fur on the dogs as well. The little details like that really take your miniatures from great to...well very very great?

The key on the collar is another great idea.

I'm dying to see this stuff painted. Your work makes me want to start an Possessed Warband too.

Names, well I own two little King Charles Cavaliers(Im too lazy to check the spelling on cavalier) oh they are real dogs btw not minis....and they are anything but fear inspiring and Ive called them Odin and Tyson-cause I thought that was funny as they are so small and non threatening (.....and they eat their own shit even though we feed them all the time and then want lick you when you get home from work which is disgusting)....so for such fierce looking beasts maybe sweetie or cutie would be ironic.

Oh! I just realized that there are 3 dogs. The second white one is wearing a key.

So I guess it would have to be Killer, Nibbles and Bitey.

as for the bases, i wanted to have them look different/scenic but seeing as this is a game that uses true line of site i didnt want them to be too tall and the muddying of them was quite simple, just used mig pigments

Foot! Your puppies are AWESOME! Where you got the models? Your technique to paint white is simply amazing. People do not realize how difficult is to paint a 'plain' white model.

Your crossbow man is incredible! The weathering on the shield is subtle... and so effective! You basing of the models and the effect of the model is right on! Please keep sharing!

VERY NICE, Foot! That looks to be a gritty, tough, somewhat NUTS Witch Hunter; GREAT WORK capturing the right personality along with a TERRIFIC paint job. WELL DONE!

The Witch Hunter is awesome, I really like the weathered paint job and especially the shield looks great!

how do you do the backgrounds and does it mean that you would be able to post a pic with an all white background as well?

Loving the witch hunter. The color palette is so subtle. The weathering is excellent as well. Great work and looking forward to more.

Wonderful work on both the dogs and the Hunter! Love the bases and the overall feel of the minis. Let us see more!

thank you very muchly unfortunately the dogs are no longer available might be about to find them on ebay or something. they were from Rackham miniatures. And about the white, wasn't too hard, started with a black undercoat too

And about the photos heres my normal set up, i just change the white big of paper to a blue/white that i printed out when i want


and i may make a tut for the basing sometime
