Boring Mordheim Meeting in Bremen 2009 (UPDATED WITH PICS!)

In this thread we will post battle reports and photos of the Boring Mordheim Meeting in Bremen at my place! It's 00:22 around here so the meeting starts today!

We have just played a bar brawl, and I kicked ass everyone brought 6 guys, and because I was with ogres, I had only three (lame)
I had two ogres left, everyone else died

Brutal!!!

Ahah,this time the Minotaur duplicate himself in 3, so just one died, as usual, but the others stand in their feet

first of though, these German people have invented such a weirdass keyboard that the z and y will be mixed up in this report... deal with it!

We've played a couple of battles now, in which the cart was proven rather vulnerable, and the ogres rather fat and powerfull, but it's a blast!

The first experience point for the Ogres had this effect on Matt, imagine what 5 won battles meant!


We started off with a barbrawl, bashing in faces and throwingchairs...

Out of nowhere a fight started in a quiet little town bar
(ok, it was a busy rather large bar where dogs, Bull Centaurs and Ogres are appearantly allowed to enter... )


but then, after we regrouped this morning, we devided into two groups, one consisting of Cianty Matt, and Pfreck, playing manhunt on the BTB table, and the other Eliazar and myself playing defend the find on the Wolfgang board... the BTB battle, I did not see or experience, so I will only describe our battle...

It was FAST! ... only one turn and then Eli won.. though I got the loot... and here's how:
I had the center building, and was meant to hold it, until Eli (the attacker) had more models next to it than me... so I put 3 of my heroes in there, and 1 henchman, and on the side I had my cart with 3 marksmen and a driver.

The game Commences!


Eli however, decided to deploy his dogs quite close by, just in charge range... he charged, hit my horses pulling the cart, and then the legendary shit hit the fan...

when hit, the draft animals get scared, and an out of control test has to be made, so when one fails that test, they break loose. 3 hits means 3 tests, means a very likely fail! then the horses broke, and sped down the road, swerving into buildings and getting autohits, meaning more tests, more hits more tests more... fails..

and as such, half of my warband left the objective while holding on for dear life and ramming the cart into all sorts of obstacles. Finally, the yoke broke, and one horse dragged along the other - by now OoA - horse

Unfortunately for Eli, he moved towards the objective in this very same turn, and hence, he had more models on the objective building than me, winning the game, but not claiming any of the treasures...

The Game Ends!


Thus, I got plenty of treasure, rebought my runaway horse and smiled graciously at Eli, thanking him for helping me gain a headstart in this campaign... - fear not, I quickly lost it again...


next game will be told by Eliazar as we invented/played that together - yeah, we like the new games!

Never knew of a Mordheim game ending in turn one.
I had one ending in turn 2 though...

it might be not all thanks to me, but I am the only one who has WON ALL games this meeting !

Here we go, Tom!

The first game on day 2 saw Pfreck's Chaos Dwarfs, Matt's Maneaters and my Battle Monks in a Man Hunt scenario against two Temple Dogs (who were give the stats of a Hydra by popular demand - don't ask me why ).

Matt got to place his Ogres first, then the Battle Monks set up, away from the Dogs and close to the Maneaters (which should prove to be no less dangerous!) and finally the Chaos Dwarfs entered the board. By this time the safe table edges were occupied and Pfrech chose to divide his forces.



Due to the proximity to the Maneaters the Battle Monks quickly engaged them in close combat.



Unfortunately for the righteous defenders of Cathay the Ogres prove to be tough as nails and took out one Peasant after the next and even the Monks failed to fight them off. Their Silent Death ability is useless against models that are wounded on 5's and so they quickly fell. Here you can see the bodies in the Cathayan Temple of Death:



The only "casualty" I caused was a knocked down Mountain Guard but I chose to flee instead of finishing him off as another turn would have spelled certain extinction for the entire Celestial Protectorate.

While I was throwing all my forces against the overwhelming Ogres, the right-hand division of the Chaos Dwarfs, consisting of a Sorcerer, a Bull Centaur and a henchman dwarf, approached me from behind. I routed before they could attack. The knocked down Mountain Guard I left was easy fodder for the Bull Cenatur - despite Matt's desperate cries that it would be... erm... unfluffy to charge the model.





The Chaos Dwarfs were not only coming my direction - they were also fleeing from one of the Temple Dogs. And everyone knows that Dwarfs are not well known for a great escape.





In the end, the Chaos Dwarfs had no other option than to rout. With their forces divided, hungry Ogres on one side and a vicious Temple Dog on the other, they could only run for their little lives.


NB: Have a look at the last photo. Can you spot where Matt put his glass?

Note that I actually got a Goaler that got a leg injury.. Matt keeps telling me that I was able to choose between him capturing my model or I could get him a leg injury.. Everyone told me not to trust Matt, so Goaler McLimpy was born!

How is the Tainted Cops battle report coming along, Ez?

I just checked and yeah, it still is there. I hope it will disappear eventually. Or I will just add some grass flock there. No big deal really. And in return, I shoved two of his Ogres off the board during the Siege. Made me feel really bad too.

Good points! This shall not be forgotten! That must have been after the Last Orders scenario where you could choose between two Serious Injuries. McLimpy was cool. Somewhat.


EDIT: Oh, and I forgot that we rolled a 64 on the random happenings: Blessing of Father Nurgle, causing the Chaos Dwarfs and even the Maneaters to gain mutations and from then on being followers of Nurgle (whooot!?). Of the Battle Monks refused to open any of the mysterious Chaos boxes and thus were unaffected by the event. But now an Ogre Youngblood had the Bloated Foulness (-1 M, +1 W, +1 T) and the Chaos Dwarf Sorcerer with the crooked nose gained a Beak (addtional attack).

I'll get to the words eventually..I guess. I DID find matt's glass imprint/mini crop circle however. AND, if anyone should know what is & isn't fluffy it would be matt...sort of.

sad thing is, Matt cannot even be trusted with toadstools.. he feels the need to ignite the poor funky vegitation..

about the crop circels, if it wasn't for me, pfreck would have also left his glass on the table, that'd make two circles. so I cause one and prevented one, and 1-1 is zero . and you still broke two of my dear ogres !

yeah, the battle was great, especially the part where pfreck thought he'd actually stand a chance if he killed the man eater! there went your sorcerrer and centaur
