| Agreed -- great stonework! They're cool little terrain pieces in their own right, & I really like how you can combine them with either the walkways to create large raised areas (would make a good dock or harbour, for example) or cram them in among buildings to make a dense, complex urban area. That'd be an especially good way to make players use higher levels of buildings, which I find can be very neglected during games! Plus, old European towns do often look like that... | |

Thanks Rhyddrech, that was a bit what I was looking for, give some terrain with some town feel, different heights lots of stairs, like older towns do sometimes look. As everything is kind of modular there will be a different town every time. Without this stuff there just has been some buildings on a flat table, not looking like a town at all. I had way to less buildings to make a whole streets or something. And the platforms had been made quite quick compared to the buildings. As I decided to make them the easy way, just through cutting. Hope to post more progress soon.

| Hey folks, i finished the rest of the stone plattforms and took some time to finish some neglected left overs. Here are the other plattforms: And i also finished painting this one, as i found a new blue while making the plattforms. And i finished those to buildings that i just made month ago to try out paper roof tiles and stone cutting. I just used to test paint, some new roof colours. And they will fill the table. So im not sure where to go next. Finishing the last building, or just making a new one, im still looking into casting. | |

| Hey guys, it has bine a while since i could spent time on making some scenery. So i wanted to try something new. I wanted to try to make small house after sketch. Just modelled out of clay and then casting it in gypsum. And find a new style for Stonewalls. So thats what is on my workbench by now. I dont have clue how to make the shingles by now, but we will see. Maybe just some blasa. | |

| So far so awesome. I am really curious to see how the casting goes as I have been thinking about casting my own stone structures myself. As for shingles, you could try doll house shingles split down into thirds, and possibly cut in half. The natural texture is such that I think it would translate well when moulded for casting. | |

| That is a cool little building. VERY NICELY DONE! I have had some nice results doing shingle in air dry clay (Das). You might give that a try. | |

| Hey guys thanks for ur tipps. I just continued before i read ur advise. I just made everything out of clay, i need to do something for the stonestructure. Texuring, and maybe something with the gaps in between. I hope i can cast tomorrow, but im not sure, if erverything will survive, we will see. By now result: I really like that the building looks a bit "overweight". | |

| Nice sculpt! I like the way the walls are bulging out a bit, as if sagging under age & weight... | |

| Great stuff! I like those little building that aren't accessible for warbands during the game, they're cool obstacles to have on the board rather than just putting a bunch of loose walls everywhere! Nice sculpting. Theo | |

| Hey guys, thanks for all ur replies. Im kinda struggeling, to do the casting of the last sculpted building. The way i thougt to do it, isn't working out. As the sculpt is out of clay its soft. And dooing a silicon mold of the whole thing would be to expensive. So i try to work arround, with several test pieces. By now I try a latex-skin mould, with some gypsum shells, when the latex is dry. To get a first cast hopefully. Test pieces, waiting to get the Latex-skin dried: | |

I tried some wall sections as a test casting, i think with high-quality silicon it should'nt be a problem. Actually i don't have done pictures of them. But i thought, for myself, just dooing molds for straight walls is kinda limited, as I would need different shapes for the castings and different angles. By now i thought, just making stamps for wallstructres that u can push into modelling clay, will work better for me. For example i have this pic, of a gypsum-shell mold. Just imagine the mold would not have the walls at the edges, it would be possible to press it in to some clay to give structre:

| Hey guys, so it was a quite ambitous idea to cast whoel buildings. But yesterday i had some sucsess with a test piece, that i would like to share with u. From left to right: The Latex Skin, The "original", The cast. The result is quite good, i think, not perfect. But its working out for me. Now 2 Pics to show the process so u guys can do it by urself, if u want: The Gypsumshell, to keep the Latex-Skin in Shape during the casting: Inside view of the Mold. Latexskin inside the gypsum-shell:
I think i will give a try to make a mold of the "real" building now... Im curious how its working out.

| Agreed, the cast seems to have come out well -- & this seems like the sort of thing that will get easier with a bit of practice. Good luck with it! | |

| Terrific terrain! Incredible stonework. Very inspiring! I have to try to create platforms like that - it looks awesome, and gives the table a whole new life. I love the irregular shapes of them, it’s very organic; my idea for my own board was to just create square platforms, like the ones the GW studio seems to have used, but yours are actually much cooler. Great job! | |
