| Ok so technically this mini is for my character in DnD, more about him in this thread but I thought that with a bit of fluff he could very well fit in Mordheim and indeed in Border Town Burning so I present to you now the new hired sword Wu-Tang goblin assassin! (he's on a round base, is there anything in the rules that says they have to be on square ones for Mordheim?) Forget all that you know about the savagery of goblins for in the Wudang mountains of Cathay there exists a strange relationship between the local Wu-Tang monks and the neighboring goblin tribes. So powerful is the influence of the Wu-Tang missionaries that many years ago even the local goblin tribes fell under their sway, since then those greenskins have proven to be extremely devout followers of the Wu-Tang writings. The monks meanwhile realised that with the appropriate training the small size and dexterous nature of their new allies could make them successful infiltrators and assassins. It is a great honour for a goblin family's young son to be taken in by the Wu-Tang monks and trained in the subtle art of the Wu-Tang swordstyle. I wouldn't know where to start with writing up a set of rules for this guy but I guess he'd be sort of similar to the ninja who's in BTB already but maybe with more of a spiritual feel Anyway here are the pictures, hope you enjoy: More complete ones: - Spoiler:
Work in progress ones, he's basically a skaven gutter runner with an undead skull and greenstuff: - Spoiler:

| Hilarious! I was going to say this is a great conversion but seeing the WIP pics and that you modelled the face with green stuff, now it's really ! Great job! I like it a lot. Oh, and there's nothing in the rules saying that round bases are not allowed. It is unconventional but not forbidden. | |

| Yet another case of GREAT MINDS flowing in similar channels [or gutters in my case ]. I did up a couple of Night Goblin Assassins just to freak out the "rules lawyers'" at a local games store. I figure the rest of the Goblins knew that they didn't have any assasssins, but didn't want to hurt their (the assassins) feelings. Your little guy turned out TERRIFIC. I LOVE the positioning & choice of colors. WELL DONE! | |

| Well I'm always a fan of being unconventional! Thanks a lot for the kind words guys! I'm pretty pleased/surprised with how he turned out myself! I'm feeling pretty confident with my GS skills now, once I've finished painting up my skaven warband I'm gonna start on an Africana themed beastmen warband that'll be heavily greenstuffed (some models will be almost completely greenstuff and milliput I think) Would love to see your assassins Nala! | |

| Hey Jack! VERY good job on the face modelling. Well done. Your goblin does have an asian touch to it, I suppose it is the big, slightly slanted eyes. I just think that the left arm position is a little unnatural. But on the other hand, Ninjas in medieval Japan were said to be able to dislocate their arms from their shoulder sockets in order to fit through extremely narrow spaces... I understand the trouble one goes through when building an assassin model from scratch! One wants to make it look like it is dynamic, fast and at the same time it should have class... a very hard task. I built this Dark Elf assassin from scratch a few weeks ago, because I dislike the new metal models. I tried a LOT of different arm positions, and ended up being less creative than you. I went for the classical "out of the movement just cut your throat" arm position (sorry for the dark pics, my lamp was broken) _________________ | |

With Tom's assistance, that may (soon) be arranged. I rather like the positioning of the left arm. I suggests the kind of movements I've come to expect of Ninja style assassins [too much Kung Fu Theater here ]. Again, WELL DONE! The African Warband sounds REALLY cool. GW used to make Pygmies for the Southlands or Lustria. You could do Goblin versions of that sort of thingy, maybe with some blowpipes/poison darts. @Tom: I REALLY like the fluid motion you achieved; the slightly blurred image of the cape adds to the sense of motion. NICE STUFF!

| Tom,
good to see something new from you! That Dark Elf assassin looks really ... dark. And stealthy. Very cool.

| VERY GOOD! I love the pose of the left arm, with the blade behind him. I love your greenstuffing, though I kinda miss the goblin's big nose. still I love it a lot~! @Tom, I said it on skype, and I still find your assassin awesome . I think the posistion of the arm is very good with the movement. no you can't stop me from begging for a brighter pic _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| Wow lots of replies! Cheers Tom, I do see what you mean about the arm, I had planned to have it doing something slightly different but that must have gotten lost somewhere on the way! I, like Nala, have watched too many Kung Fu films! (or maybe goblins have slightly different skeletal anatomy to humans, one extra joint or something!). I really like your elf, I'm not a fan of many of the dark elf models either actually which is a shame because I like the idea of dark elves and am a big fan of the drow in DnD (I'm a bit of an emo really!). Is he made out of a black ark corsair? You've definitely ticked all the boxes; dynamic, fast and classy!
Nala, I look forward to seeing them, make sure you keep pestering Tom!
Matt, thank you! I know what you mean about the loss of the nose but I wanted to keep away from the comedy aspect of goblins, if you look at the thread I linked to in the first post you'll see that in DnD he's gonna be quite a dark character (again my emoness shining through!)
Cheers Tag! | |

| I LOVE your idea of D&Ding it through the WoW game setting. My RPGing days along with my hearing are long gone [it was AD&D for moi for 20+ GLORIOUS years of swashbuckling ] & I've only been an observor of WoW, but the scenery & characters in WoW SCREAM OUT to be played in miniature. Mordheim/Necromunda is rather like a more competitive form of RPGing that suits my love of minis to the tee.

| Don't tell anyone but I'd rather be playing in the forgotten realms setting, love those drow! This was just the only DnD campaign being run in my group so I joined on, having said that our DM IS very good so now I've joined I'm not complaining! It's a shame you've had to give up, is it just because of the hearing? If so surely there are gaming groups that sign or something... | |

| I was a PlaneScape guy myself, but most of my AD&Ding was Grey Hawk. The web-site/domain from which my D&D thread comes [in the Fantasy Shout It Out section] when Justin finishes his update, has a unique, incredibly detailed, & narrated campaign setting that MIGHT be of interest to you. | |
