| They are some of my favorite minis. I also finished these. One to fight with Goblins, one to fight with my future Norse. | |

| Been awhile since I posted here. I've been distracted by WFB goblins and elves. But here are some things that I did for mordheim finally. A replacement Shaman and some Goblins that will fight in Mordheim with the Orc warband, but also under Grom for WFB. An additional Mutant choice for the Possessed warband. | |

| It's been a LONG time since I had a Mordheim update. I've been consumed by goblins. A lead belcher, a rock lobber, Grom, and just all kind of other greenskins. But I've fixed that. Soon I'll have some sea elves (for Lustria and other settings) ready to go as well. This should have been a sea elf update. They are coming along well, but I got distracted. Mordheim Halfling Thief About 6.5 years ago I was almost completely out of the hobby. But I decided before I sold things I could paint up Berterand, because I've always liked that model. I recently found a deal on him and his friends, so I did them again. This time it didn't take nearly as long. And while this photo doesn't really show it fully, the difference is even greater than I expected. But, I also noticed that I'm no longer pushing myself hard to improve with each and every mini. Might need to work on that. I think my painting has gotten pretty good, but I also thing there is room to improve. Bases have yet to be done on the new ones, but you get the point. These are part of my Outlaws warband. | |

| Well, it's understandable -- goblins are very distracting. I'm quite looking forward to getting a Grom of my own...
The improvement on that second batch of Bertrand & co. is definitely visible. The shading is just that much better that it really improves the look.
I wouldn't worry too much about pushing yourself to improve each time -- I know I don't. One tip I've heard a few times is that you might plateau in quality, but your speed improves at that quality. Which is definitely something I've found. Plus, sometimes different project demand different styles & qualities.
I'm looking forward to Sea Elves too!

| The Lads in Green & their sneaky associate pained up SPLENDIDLY. VERY NICELY DONE! Now you have to start improving the bases to match the improved brushwork. | |

| Ah, bases on those aren't done yet, but I'm about the head to switzerland for 90 days, and I don't know if I'll get a chance to do them before I go. | |

| I like to do them in a large enough batch to justify getting the static grass process all set up. | |

| Have you tried the tufts? They are much easier then the loose static grass, AND the stand up straight. I usually base my miniatures before I paint them. | |

| +1 on the use of grass tufts. They're really easy to use, & they look good. 'Nuff said.
Though starting with the base sounds like just the sort of wild madness I've come to expect from DN.

| Anything where I end up cutting the tab off I do the bases separate. Anything where I keep it and use a slotta I do it after, so it covers the gaps.
I do use tufts, and often make my own. The biggest problem I run into is when I try to do the grass AFTER I put the magnets in the base. I'm an engineer, I'm supposed to know that's going to cause problems.

| Thanks.
The elves get to pull double duty. A merchant company for WFB 3rd edition, and Mordheim. We are doing a short Lustrian campaign in December. Haven't played that setting in at least 15 years (and then only briefly) so it should be interesting.
I'm taking my Man O' War ships and some paints to Switzerland with me. I figure its a small enough box of minis and a limited colour palate. But that way I'll still get to paint a bit instead of 3 months of nothing.
