| Painting time! I was really excited to finally start this step. Even if it's only for one quarter of the whole Malval table, still it will help me to have a better vision of what the end result will look like. And also eventually correct any mistake I could have made for the first module and not reproduce them for the three remaining modules. My favorite hobby paint brand is definitely ak-interactive. Their products fit my use and my tastes in term of color palette. This brand is not really known in the fantasy/sci-fi side of the hobby but more in the military model-making side. The thing I really love in particular is their big 60ml primer bottle, especially for large project such as scenery-making. Feel free to let me know your thoughts about these painting jobs. Have a nice day, Kibo | |

| That's impressive how colors change everything! I must confess that I started to wonder where I was going with this crazy Mordheim project. So much time and effort and still far from being playable. But as soon as I finished the first paint job on these ruins, the motivation came back instantly. The result is nice and efficient, it's not Golden demon painting for sure but I'm satisfied with it. And on your side, what do you think of the painting, the color, etc? Kibo | |

| The painting and colour choices are excellent. In particular, I like the stone work and the rubble. | |

| Oh yes! I already said your project was one of my favourites because it's so close to how I'd imagine my own gaming board with all the rubble etc... NOW I think it IS my most favourite because imo you hit the nail on the head (can you say that in english?) with your colour choices. The cobblestones are totally lifelike, the bricks are the right colour and the rubble is just so ... rubble-ish. The ruins in the first pic are not totally done yet, right? | |

| Yes you're right I still need to work on a lot of details. But I'll keep them for later, as I prefer to work on the whole table. Thanks again for all your support, that keep me focus and motivated. Kibo | |

| Great work, Kibo. The painting part of scenery can sometimes ruin it all (even ruins can be ruined by a ruinous paint job ) but I'm happy to see that your airbush approach gives very nice results in a reasonable time. The results are awesome. keep on doing it - and show us more pictures! | |

| I regularly check other members post on this forum for inspiration and tips about modeling techniques. And let me tell you, you are a bunch of really talented XPS foam carvers! I present you my humble attempt at the XPS foam carving technique. For all the experts out there, what do you think? Any advice for my next XPS foam buildings? Kibo | |

Kibo Lolol... nothing humble about that! It looks great; I can't think of any advice that would improve it. You making such great headway- your table already looks great. | |

| It looks ok on the pics but believe me when you look at it closely it's far from being perfect. For example, how do you do to carve the foam with a pen without making some ripples on the sides? Also how do you make some stone more in the back and some on the front?

| Well, the issue of achieving uneven stone faces I don't know how to resolve but when carving foam I actually use a carpenters pencil. The lead is bigger but you can shape it a bit and round the tip more- in my opinion it seems to rip the foam less. | |

| Wow! I had seen a few pictures of your buildings on Facebook but nothing showing the entire glory of this gaming board. This is truly exceptional wonderful work! It's amazing to see what you did with the Escenorama kits... I am not a big fan of it and was quite disappointed when opened it (too many identical parts, sloppy details,..) but really bring out the best of them. I'll be following this closely. | |

| Hi everyone, The first module is almost done and I've started to work on some details. I love working with wood, it's such a fantastic materials! I've done a few things in wood for the first module of the Malval table: two bridges, a fence, a stairs and a few ladders. For painting, I mainly used the wash and filters of the wood weathering set from Ak-interactive and it works very well I think. Do you have other ideas of wood scenery I could make for this Mordheim table? Kibo | |
