My project on Mordheim Table.

I am larking for years in this beautiful forum.I was always very impressed by the level of the work of others so I was bit shy to post anything in the past. But now that I had commissioned to start a morheim table I find the courage to start posting the wip of this project. So, I am gonna try to build a 120cm X 120cm table. Firstly I decide to build a test piece of half destroyed building to have a better understanding of those type of buildings and save time and materials for the future builds.

Primed and ready for painting. Overall happy. The next ones I will try to make them a little narrower on the front so that they look a little higher. I'm thinking about a ratio of about 1/3. I will also make the roof in a way so that the tiles will protrude on the facade, something I do for most of the buildings I make, but unfortunately I forgot here and it was too late for corrections.After I paint it, I can add more debris because now, without paint it looks quite clean. For the brickwork: did you cut them brick by brick?

No. They are curved in the xps foam.

There are some things I will change in future builds but overall happy.

Now its time to start the build of the 4X4 table.

Agreed, this is first-class work! I hope you're really proud of it, because it looks amazing.

Some wip photos of the morheim table (not the best quality, but as I have more to show you I am going to be more careful with photos too). The amount of work is the largest I have undertaken to date (regardless of the fact that every time I tell myself I will not do something that requires more than a month of work), but so far I have worked quite methodically and so I can say that I am at a very good point. Because the design of the table is very fluid, I decided that the best solution is to start with most of the buildings that will fit on the table so that I have a better picture of what I will do with their positions and the overall picture that the board will have. So the first batch of 7 buildings is downhill. The construction of half-destroyed buildings is something that I find more difficult than the construction of entire buildings, even those that have interiors. So their design had to be done very carefully to be able to meet both the game functionality and the visual aesthetics. Unfortunately, playability is inversely related to visual aesthetics, and in many places, mutual compromise has to be made. There is still a long way to go before I see the vision we built with Troll Painter (the lad who assigned me the job), but sharing the evolution of the job helps me gain courage until the project is completed. So... it continues.

They are all BEAUTIES, each with a character all its own. OUTSTANDING WORK!

It's been a long time (probably months) since I posted something. The reason is that I am working non-stop to finish (at some point) the biggest project I have undertaken to date. I cannot go into much detail because the work done at the table is so much that an entire book would not be enough to describe it. But I can post these photos of the development so far. At the moment, everything looks rough and ugly, but I believe that as soon as the first colors are introduced, everything will change. Most of the buildings I put in are temporary, placed to have a better understanding. Permament buildings will be done in a second stage of the project to fit the needs of the table, but in general, the locations of the buildings will be these. I will try to post more often because the feedback gives me courage to continue the project (I am so tired and I am not even halfway). Of course, I do not give up, so just wait for the next part. C&C always welcome.

Honestly, what u are doing is awesome. But what u try to achieve is close to be impossible. As i by myself tried to fill a whole board with terrain, know this is almost impossible to do in a live time... This is crazy. It is awesome what u have done so far. Dont stress ur self to much. It shoudnt't be a pain to make something wonderful like this. U aimed for the next level!

Agreed -- this is an incredible project, & a huge achievement for one person. Honestly, the sculpting quality looks great even before painting, so don't worry about that. & don't feel the need to paint too much detail either, when there's so much! Spray paint & drybrushing are your friends. Again, congratulations on such a spectacular achievement.

Oh yes, I'm still here. I fought with gods and demons to get here (a Greek idiom). The work on the Mordheim table on behalf of TheTrollPainter is nearing completion. All major construction is finished. About 30 stairs, some statues, and about 2 wooden structures are left to complete the construction part. Unfortunately, the limited time due to other obligations is delaying me from starting the painting. I'm looking forward to putting some color on, so the table will finally start to look like something more complete. I have eaten the donkey; now it's only his tail (another Greek idiom). 

I havent figure out hiw to post more photos so I will spam some in posts
