| We have a bunch as well thanks. The 20x40 arrangement is just because those old 25mm dogs look silly on 25x50 bases. _________________________________________________________________________________ A Defended FindThe Gray Skaven defend against Sea Patrol elfs Defenders Elfs attack Eventually the elfs gave it up. Not sure if anything else happened. _________________________________________________________________________________ Another Hidden TreasureThe Pestilense skaven versus the Dark Elfs - Jim L (aka playtable) wrote:
Rats had me outnumbered 18 to12. We both spread out across the board.
On the west, my 4 elfs fought 5 skaven. A little shooting on each side and some hth.
On the east, I sent 2 heroes (1 new) against 5 rats. As buildings were eliminated my 2 elfs backed up. 2 giant rats were sent close to March block me as the rest took off towards the only building left. My 2 elfs charged the rats, 1 each, and took both ooa.
In the center, my boss finally had something to shoot and took ooa a drummer boy rat. My beastmaster charged into hth against a giant rat attacking my cold one beasthound and took it ooa. A henchman got to the last building.
On the west, the hth got serious and more skaven went ooa.
With 6 ooa skaven left.
I found 16gc (3D6) a suit of light armor and a sword.
Primed Drummer Boy skaven went 10 turns with a pit fighter before winning.
Shade "Dusk" died.
Hired a new Shade, Dusk II.

2 high Elves took the 2 center buildings and my sorceress charged one and took it ooa. Same turn 2 shooters shot the other, a hero, and took it ooa.
With 3 ooa Chris left.
Beastmaster lost pit fight.
He got multiple injuries and ended up loosing a T and robbed.
Now T2. Used all my searches to find 1 Dark Elf Blade before realizing he has no Lucky Charm. 😣

(Our warbands have fought in multi-player fights, but not mano/elfo.) Plague victims appear behind the elfs... The sacrificial spearman reveals hiding Witch Hunters (stupid elf rules). | Well actually since 2002. Originally I was hired by a local store to run Mordheim games on Thursdays. The store stopped sponsoring me in 2005 or so, but we kept playing on Thursdays. Every now and then we take a few months off, like when I worked in a different city for 3 months or so in 2007...

| Weekly games are an alien thing to me also. My old AD&D Gang did play every other week, but my work hours kept me from doing even that. The historical games were limited to a few each year, but they tended to be grander affairs. There are some SPLENDIDLY painted minis mixed with the grays & silvers in this game...the first photo in particular. GREAT STUFF once more! | |

| Thanks Al, the Witch Hunters were my first warband, though I really had most of the figures already from Warhammer Empire. _________________________________________________________________________________ In the Dead of NightThe Duchess versus the Marauders Even with only half of her warband on the table, the Duchess and her minions outnumber the poor Marauders. | Thanks amigo. _________________________________________________________________________________ A SkirmishThe Lizards versus the Duchess The Lizards lost their infiltrating Great Crest early. Then it went down hill from there... Duchess wins! _________________________________________________________________________________ Wyrdstone HuntThe Sea Patrol versus What's Left of the Marauders Early moves I think the event is called Rat Swarm... Either way the swarm missed the elfs by 2 inches... Needless to say the elfs disappeared before it could move again. And then more bad things happened to Marauders... - Chris R wrote:
- I lost to Chris in a wyrdstone hunt. Which killed 2 dogs. I didn't knock anything out.
So my next game will have a stupid seer, one champ, the condemned, a marauder hero and a dog...
_________________________________________________________________________________ Chance Encounter or the Battle of the BridgesThe Lizards encounter the Witch Hunters The lizards dared the Witch Hunters to come and get them... The Lizards fled with the Skink Priest out of action. Another mean saurus brave is killed. The Priest got better. The Witch Hunters find another graveyard to restore (this one was worth +3 experience). Another hound dies, but Bunny the Wonderdog lived, so its OK. _________________________________________________________________________________ Sundayheim--Treasure HuntThe Shadowkillers, The Red Duke and Ulric's Hammers mix it up. Jake L, John D and I got together at the Game Preserve's north store (where I haven't played a game since 2010). John and Jake couldn't make the regular game night. I brought out the Middenheimers from the first run of the Winter campaign since the Witch Hunters have passed them in rating. The terrain wasn't very Mordheimy, but we muddled through. The skaven moved second but were stuck in the middle and so hung back. The undead and Witch Hunters grabbed all the wyrdstone. Then the Undead fled after getting beat up by everybody. Then the Witch Hunters failed to wound verminkin and fled as well. The Red Duke gained 3 wyrdstone, but lost a dire wolf, a ghoul and the zombie Eshin Sorcerer. The Hammers (or were they the Wolves?) lost a veteran marksman and the wolf companion, but gained 3 wyrdstone and a Priest of Morr hired sword (special event). The Shadowkillers gained a bunch of experience, won the fight and lost no one.

| The Rise of the Liche Lord--Week EightPlayers and WarbandsChris R--Mauraders of Chaos (BtB) Chris S--Lothloren Sea Patrol (Sartosa) Jake L--Skaven ( The Shadowkillers) Jim L--Dark Elves (Lustria) Jim S--Witch Hunters It was cool and rainy in drenched suburban Greenwood IN this past Thursday. Traffic was awful to boot. So only a hardy few braved traffic and leaky store ceilings to brave the perils of Mordheim (cue spooky music and the sound of a storm.) The Cry of the BansheeThe Shadowkillers versus Witch Hunters The mass of Witch Hunters funneled down a narrow street (by choice... I make incredibly bad choices if my opponent gives me a chance to.) The skaven move in quickly... That's the Assassin Adept poised to climb up and claim the treasure chest as his minions lurk below. Meanwhile the Dark Elf assassin (upper left) shoots down the lead hound (thereby distracting the vengeful Witch Hunters...sigh.) More minions poised to protect the Assassin's flank. The photographer moved off just before the Banshee appeared (house rules). Distracted by a chaos spawn in my deployment zone, I completely blew the Banshee's deployment rules and boom! the Banshee was fighting the poor hounds. The fog of war was pretty foggy Thursday. The Banshee killed a hound, then was banished by the efforts of Per Liebergott and Bruder SigmarDeusIst (and a blessed great axe). But the Assassin adept blithely skipped off with the treasure chest as hounds and flagellants were distracted into charging the skaven right, far from the Assassin. The skaven win. I doubt anything died... They find everything the Witch Huntes wanted including the Holy Relic, heavy armor and Holy Tome (none of which they could use...) The Witch Hunters lose three out of four hounds (Bunny lived!). More battles to come... | |

| Thanks Al. The old guy took pretty good photos this week. _________________________________________________________________________________ Treasure Hunt3 Marauders against a lot of Sea Patrol and Witch Hunters One headed for the bridge... Which was covered by all these elf bows... The last warhound and another hero took on the Witch Hunters (who are far away dealing with the Itsy Bitsy Spider...) The Marauders lost the lone hero (surprise I know) and failed the rout test (which kept the rest of them alive). Naturally the lone hero will miss a game... The Witch Hunters ran into a totally different Sea Patrol then the one faced recently(was it last week?) The whole Hunter right flank went out of action to spears, swords and arrows. The Bounty Hunter and a warhound (who was not Bunny) died. The Witch Hunters find a Master Mordheim map. The rest of the gang fought the spider to a draw... The Sea Patrol lose one veteran Seaguard and gain 3 wyrdstone shards and the Exploration result 222222 Hidden Treasure. Lots of happy noises result. The Count of Ventimiglia’s Misericordia is claimed by the Sea Patrol in addition to lots of other nasty things. _________________________________________________________________________________ Another SkirmishThe Shadowkillers kill Dark Elves The Shadowkillers line up The Dark Elves lose some elfs and flee. A Shade known as Dusk II is killed. The Shadowkillers lose no one of consequence. The Shadowkillers, Witch Hunters and Dark Elfs all unlocked special scenarios against the Liche Lord's minions for next week. If we get enough players together we might have three separate 'plot' scenarios going which warms my cruel campaign organizer's heart... | |

| The major factor in the quality of the photos seems to be the availability of the tables with the better looking surface. Maybe you could all chip in for some gaming mats...or not. | |

| Kevin really enjoys collecting the LAM's. Cool Mini used to bring them to Gencon for me to buy, but I haven't gotten any more since Cool Mini started doing their own thing. Which is just as well as I haven't PAINTED any of the ones I do have... _________________________________________________________________________________ Midnight at the MausoleumThe Shadow Killers versus the Sea Patrol This week was a special scenario bonanza as three of us rolled the right to play the weekly 'Plot' scenario. Since we had missed the chance to play a couple with bad rolls, I ruled that each player that succeeded in thwarting the Liche Lord would get to 'host' a separate special scenario. The Shadow Killers drew Midnight...The special rule The Creeps meant that the skaven didn't move much for the whole scenario... Those skaven who actually moved were mobbed. Alas poor zombies The Sea Patrol brushes the zombies aside. Sometimes more successfully than others. The Sea Patrol got to the mausoleum long before the rats The Killy-Hand-to-Hand elf ambushed zombies Other elfs hunting zombies The Sea Patrol gained lots of riches and fled out of the graveyard. (There was a fair bit of confusion about how to win the scenario: Not all of which caused by how the scenario was written.) Neither warband really suffered any casualties (the skaven sorcerer was shot by elfs, but got better.) | |

The Lizards versus Witch Hunters Lizards We defended the tower with zombies drawn from the casualties suffered by all the warbands involved in the campaign. Here a zombie hound attempts to kill a skink hero. The Witch Hunters The Witch Hunters advance. Eventually the Lizards cut their way through the wall of zombies. Confrontation or the last useless volley of missiles before the Lizards charge. (I couldn't even wound skinks...) The two warbands spent like three hours cutting down zombies, hacking and shooting at each other. A combined casualty count of fourteen bodies or so resulted in the death of a saurus brave and a warhound (not Bunny so its OK). Bruder Sigmardeusist suffered a Nervous Condition. A Skink may miss a game... The Lizards gained some minor treasure and found a Book of the Dead which they sold for gold.
