Sorry I have been busy, in between games have been getting sick T_T but I am better now and trying to catch up. I know I missed a battle or two in there so we will instead start with something very special.... The Saxon games..... but first... a quick diversion into the field of Giants, or "More reasons why Alex is snowballing out of control"

THE GIANT FIELDS!!!!

Now we had 8 players available for this monday event battle so we set up two tables, (4 teams per table) On each table, two sleeping giants, guarding their own hordes of treasure. Everyone had heard the rumors of this roaming clan of looting giants, why they wanted the treasure was anyones guess but the promise of such riches and the glory of felling giants were just some of the many reasons drawing everyone to the fields. The game was a modified 'dont wake the giants' scenario.... with the giants being a little less strong and the treasure only going to the players who slay them (as well as extra campaign points) but their stats were reduced to give most war bands a chance to fight them...some of us like the Wolves could take them as they were but.... most other war-bands haven't scaled out of control like we have. Even the orks, while strong, due to injuries had half of his force sitting this one out!!!!
A quick glance at the altered giant stats:
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 1110

The two tables:

Table 1 (not the one the Wolves chose)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 410
On this table we had our newer Reikland warband, the Skaven Warband, a Dwarf Warband, and the at this point battered and beaten monk warband. (poor cathayans....more on that later)

And the Table the wolves chose to deploy on:
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 110

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 311

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 CNiKmEe
The Wolves of Stirland Deployed in this corner, the marksman choose an advantageous position on top of the building with the majority of the foot infantry in front, watching the giant but still not wanting to approach til they assessed the threat.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 GZDDEdZ
The cavalry took up a rearward position for two main reasons, one to act as a reserve when needed and to keep the impetuous Percival from rushing forward due to his frenzy.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 7at33wr
And the view of the first of two giants from their deployment.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 JCdncH7
Grimmick's skirmishers deployed to the wolves left.... still having less on the field thanks to many heroes sitting this one out (perhaps they all drank a bad batch of mushroom grog and chose to blame their absence on 'field injuries')

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 SdBn2Jl
Meanwhile the Vampire chose to deploy the majority of his forces in a tower, unsure how he would approach the threat... and I somehow lost the image of the Restless dead however.... they deployed in the last remaining corner...

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 AtRb2sX
A quick masterful volley from the crossbowmen was let loose into the closest sleeping giant, waking him instantly but with a massive headache as 3 wounds were stripped in a single salvo of bolts!!! (str 4 crossbows, even in the hands of middenheimers should never be underestimated)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 IEDGZ7n
Turn one just starting and the first giant was down to 2 wounds! It would still take a 6 to take him out of action on his last wound but we were lined up to make short work of him!!!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Wbro34z
The rest of the Wolves, under Viren's guidance were told to hold back, less the giant immediately charge them out of anger! For now the giant was still stunned from taking the bolts stirring him from his dream and in his groggy state was just standing scratching his fresh wounds in confusion (noone was in charge range)

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 NJhWfqy
Percival rushed forward on his own quest for glory, and to threaten the Ork and Vampire's plans to take on the second giant alone.... he was tired of being judged for taking Maximillians place and needed to prove himself worthy, maybe then one of the DuBois girls may look on him favorably.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 UTqkp38
The restless dead player, in an act of cunning sent his raised skaven hero zombie after the giant, both confident he could just raise him back and to try to lure the wounded giant away so he could steal the kill. He managed to lure him away but the zombie was immediately squished underfoot. Not to be deterred the bolts flew from the crossbowman and stripped another wound from the beast!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 FePAjrJ
Meanwhile the cavalry moved up ready to charge to reclaim their rightful prize! No lich was going to steal this glory from Stirland!!!!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 KWHFdmg
Meanwhile the other giant was awoken and rampaging through the ork lines as two of the ork boyz attempted to tie up Percival.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 MapLeXN
The Cavalry and Emeline charge in!!! (Emeline's 12" sprint is fantastic even if she has to wear light armor to make use of it)
And the first strike, Ser Ivan of Hedge the black knight (Freelance knight) with his higher initiative struck with his mighty lance aaaaaaaaand....
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 ZHwfw4Y
BOXCARS!!! Both wounds that went through were enough to kill the beast!!! Giving the Wolves the first treasure, 4 campaign points and earning Ser Ivan a mighty 2 experience for being the one to fell the brute!

If that wasn't enough.... Percival on the orks turn managed to fell both leaving him free to go after the other giant.....
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 HFqOY9d
And with his spear and frenzy fury Percival himself not only nets two ork boy kills but fells the second Giant as well!!! Tis looking like its a good day for Stirland!!!!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 RSoHMzc
Alex, Emeline, and Gregory quickly mopped up the vampires two wolves he sent in to try to snag the giant kill as well as the graveguard and zombies sent by the restless dead forcing a rout from the restless dead player. On the other side of the field, having no giant left to earn glory and loosing boyz fast, Grimmickz crew decided to make for camp and let the others fight over what was left.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 G9Z8gsr
The Wolves started to consolidate towards the middle to draw the lines of battle vs the Vampire, who they assumed must have been bitter from letting two giant's and their treasure slip through his bony fingers.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 DlraFSt
Percival however, despite his best efforts to heed Viren's plan...decided that he still had to just go over the top to prove himself and charged forward into the approaching ghouls!!!! Taking one of them out! And after seeing both Giants fall to the Wolves, and an imposing formation approaching....
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Yq4PAu9
The Vampire chose to withdraw leaving the Wolves to carry the day in the best possible way!!!

The battle couldn't have gone better for them and in the treasure hordes, even after paying for the upkeep of the hired swords, the Wolves still earned over 200 gold from the battle, as well as finding 3 suits of light armor, 2 lucky charms, an axe, and a master mordheim map (their second one!!!)

Also I had finished a painting commision for another player (the store owners) npc bandit warband in the meantime.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 QNvQNPe
Basically knife throwing bandits and brigands!!! Les does great converting work and the force has a really unique and dynamic vibe!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE SAXON GAMES!!!!

Every campaign with my local group (this is some of the leaders 8th or so, even though it is my first, we run a big event called the Saxon games.. named after and sponsored after one of the early heroes from the groups first campaign, the Skaven Saxon who became a self declared mayor of Mordheim and even bribed most of the other warbands to agree to elect him to that position. Since then he has held onto his self appointed title by means of bribery, deceit, cunning and of course, appeasing the people by hosting the Saxon games!!! The Saxon games are big arena battle royals where every warband or mighty hero come to test their steel and win glory, honor and fabulous prizes!!! Of course, often the games are very bloody and many times Saxon has special tricks up his sleeve.

This season, the games were hosted on the site of an old Noble's keep perched on a rough bit of earthworks giving it a perfect central stage.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 310

For the games, everyone sends a single model, so yes every player on the same table. Now our group has grown with a few newer players (who we caught up as best we could first with levels, experience and gold) swelling the battle to a 10 'man' murderfest. After much debate between the two sisters, mostly with Emeline's protest at her cousins' rise to glory, it was clear Alex would be the one sent to the game.

(also finally got around to almost finishing mounted alex (still need to affix cape)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 211

Now before the battle, we had a quick skirmish (weekly game) vs the Monks who unfortunately in the week before had a bad run in with Grimmicks boyz killing at least 6 of the monks and the leader, and in the battle after vs giants his new leader after felling one of the beasts, took a skaven sling to the back of the head and when he awoke he was robbed!!!! Not good luck for the monks who are now barely a handful of men strong.... however it was a quick 'gentlemanly battle' where we routed at first opportunity not wanting to hurt either before the upcoming saxon games.... and in that battle managed to earn enough and get the rarity roll needed to get Alex a suit of Gromril armor!!! Just in time for the games.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 KALpHMG
Alex deployed first, being the top position warband going into the Saxon games with Grimmickz boys closely bringing up behind. Unfortunate that the restless dead player, even with plenty of options to choose from chose to deploy near Alex, and in his first move which he could only move 3 inches due to his broken leg, got him right into her charge range...
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 OiZhGE7
And in a manner of moments, Alex drew first....blood?....as she killed....well...re-killed?...un-undeadified?...put to rest the black guard.... and moments later after the injury chart was rolled, it turned out she had vanquished him for good, getting the first kill of what was already shaping up to be a bloody Saxon games turn one!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 UgHTDjA
Alex then moved up onto the center hill, to scout out her competition and look for targets, she then saw a roguish dwarf looting one of the chests Saxon had scattered about the field... these often continued random drugs or poisons the player could immediately take (even if they were undead) and take advantage of their abilities for the battle, and the long term consequences or be filled with an explosive trap! The dwarf had found madcap mushrooms in there but before the slayer could make good use of them... Alex was upon him and through her lance and Avenger's hooves, the brought the dwarf low.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Jji3F11

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 VRXKS6K
Meanwhile Grimmick's shaman looked on. He was the biggest threat outside of Alex, having 3 wounds at toughness 5 with resilient as well as a great weapon and his spell (lets go) letting him always strike first, even with his greatsword... a terrifying foe indeed.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 JlEfckD
Alex decided to backtrack to the sounds of battle on the other side of the tower, she barely saw the greenskin behind the tree and wanted to save that encounter for last if she could. She quickly saw the Vampire who had eluded them before locked in combat with an albino saurus warrior!!! She had never seen one of these 'dragon skins' before and he looked terrifying, the Vampire barely managed to knock the beast down.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 RJVLGX2
Alex saw her moment and charged the fallen beast... hoping to free up the Vampire so he would finally fight her in a duel.... what a chance for glory that would be, to slay a vampire!! As he lance struck the Saurus fell, unfortunately the wound was fatal and the beast drew its last breath that day... The player was new to our group and had scaled up but also put alot of his eggs in one basket putting his two high rarity rolls and much of his gold into a suit of gromril armor and a claw of the old ones for him (just like alex had) we later realized he couldn't take gromril armor but it didn't matter at that point as he was now in the honored dead pile.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Wzg9OPG
But the Vampire did not take the opportunity to meet Alex honorably, instead he ran into the tower... So stunned by this sight Alex did not see the new Reiklander (another fresh addition) who had taken advantage of the confusion to slip into the small watchtower behind Alex level his dueling pistol and take the shot.. And what a shot it was!!! with the luck that could have only come from gork or mork, his shot managed to pass through her defenses... and while the crit ignored her armor, she also had both a lucky charm on a 4+ and a 5+ save vs shooting from her amulet of the moon that failed... And with a loud crack the round struck her in the back, knocking the wind out of her and causing her to slump in her saddle...Avenger, not used to the sounds of black powder darted off and Alex was written out of the games. It turned out all was fine and Alex was just winded from the blow but it was quite a suprise and a stroke of luck she was taken out. In the end though, she earned a fair ammount of xp as well as for her place in the tournament the Wolves earned a fair ammount of treasure and even were awarded a free warhorse. in addition Otto Branchford had been promoted to a hero and after Percival exchanged his horse for the warhorse got Percival's old horse for himself. In addition through trading with other players, we also acquired from the Lizardman player who couldn't make use of it, a suit of Italmar armor for Emeline (now shes not only fast but durable) as well as a Hotchland Long rifle from the skaven player who surprisingly didn't want it. We offered him a kings ransom for it as well, over 50 gold, a handful of knives and other small arms, suits of armor, a pair of lucky charms and even one of Viren's two master mordheim maps.
Otto got this rifle as well.... and now from being an awesome crossbowman...he was now an amazing mounted sniper. ._.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GRIMMICK'Z STRIKE!!!!!

Fresh from his Shaman's victory in the Saxon Games, and now not having to sit out due to his wounded leg, Grimmick was out hunting to prove himself the true champion and leader of Mordheim, the Wolves were out as well, looking for a new place to make camp outside of the city and heard about an old ruined castle chapel on the outskirts of town. Unfortunately, it was not to be a place of rest and instead they were quickly thrown into battle vs their rivals. Thanks to his victory in the games, Grimmickz boys had just lept ahead of the Wolves in campaign points, now 1 point higher, meaning this battle would either tie us or increase the orks lead! Alot was at stake and not just a beautiful camp site!

The Battlefield!!

For this Scenario, we rolled wyrdstone hunt and had 3 shards of wyrdstone on the field.

The current state of the Wolves of Stirland!!!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 UpOpxlR

Front row is Emeline, now clad in her Italmar armor, Viren who just gained a new skill (tactician) and was eager to put it to use, Gregory, now clad in armor and with two pistols and two swords a fearsome force to be reckoned with especially with his ws of 4, 2 attacks, and 2 wounds. And the Tilean Marksman Reginald with his bs of 5 (and thanks to his skills hes always hitting on a 2+ now) and now with quick shot is firing two bolts a turn ._.
The next row is the newly added (found ANOTHER prisoner swordmaster after the Saxon games) Duncan McDowed who joins Mordred Aster and Ser Benwick for a trio of ws5 2 attack swordmasters clad in heavy armor with shield helm and sword as well as Marco Branchford, the now non heroic crossbowman who does heroic deeds anyway.
And last but CERTAINLY not least is my full on cavalry force, Percival on the left who now is clad in Heavy armor, shield, warhorse, spear, sword and like all my heroes now a lucky charm and rabbits foot (seriously, next campaign were making them one per army each cause its just ridiculous at this point), Ser Ivan of Hedge who not only causes fear from being the "Giant slaying black knight" but also has 2 attacks. Then we have Alex....Alex.... has become a goddess and more on that after the battle... just... She may not cause fear on the tabletop, but psychologically she is the most terrifying hero in our campaign. And then we have Otto with his new position as hero and new items being a horse, light armor, shield, hotchland long rifle, spear, dagger, helmet, Lc, Rf, and his old crossbow should he ever be so inclined to use it.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 ZXmwN7o
The Wolves won deployment and chose a rather strange deployment, Grimmick knew Viren was a master tactician and knew this was just him surveying the orks position before redeploying.
After Grimmickz boyz deployed, Viren readjusted his line.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 OzwLTRq
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 VIWALS4

Grimmicks boyz spread out ready for battle!!!

And the two sides face off.
Grimmick's Boyz

Viren ordered the troops to move up towards the center, even though it was a natrual choke point the ruins in the center would be the natural place the battle would take place.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 CFvvDqa
Meanwhile Alex took the shard in the graveyard and moved up the far left flank, while Ser Ivan moved up the right
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Fuxz3l8

Grimmickz boyz moved closer, the tide of greenskin was a fearsome sight, but the Wolves had grown used to the sight of their rivals fearsome appearance.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 G7m2RUU
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 L3FuOJ9
Some of the golbins scrambled onto the well...
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 8H8Z2hg
But a masterful shot from Reginald Lottwood send one to a watery grave in the green water.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 IGxSe8c
Meanwhile Emeline and Percival lead the way for the others through the pass.

As the orks, all to eager to see battle drew closer!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 0OELBHw

Meanwhile two goblins tried to sneak around towards the graveyard, to help cover the flanks and because they wanted to get a shot off at where Grimmick suspected Alex may be.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 PjA9nOa
And there she was! But she charged first and in a flurry of blows easily brough the small greenskin low.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 VBzsAb3

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 SYXEMvI
Meanwhile Viren and the footsloggers did their best to try to keep up with the others as Emeline and Percival charged in.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 U43bcr1

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 BCqYnzY
Ivan as well charged on his side taking out his ork boy with ease as Reginald sent covering fire to knock down the fearsome bigun nearby.... he was actually fearsome now as Grimmick had won a black executioners hood from the Saxon games, so now this ork was frenzied with a claw of the old ones and was all sorts of scary... and quite the threat to Ivan..

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 GFYSlYh
Percival easily made short work of the ork boy in front of him as Emeline knocked her foe down, and as expected Grimmick's boyz lead a massive counter attack!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Y18NcuA
However save for the song of steel on steel and bone... little was achieved.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Rus3ed1
Alex, darted past the goblin, hoping to use her dueling pistol to knock off the goblin failed to connect but she still positioned herself to threaten the flanks and rear of Grimmicks horde.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 UicMlcy
Meanwhile, Grimmick and one of his bigun's joined the fray!!! But even with striking first thanks to the magical energies of their shaman....failed to down either of their foes... Meanwhile both Percival and Emeline knocked down their opponents....
And a charge from Gregory to help meant Grimmick himself was taken out of action with a coup-de-grace as was the other ork.... The shaman, not wanting to risk any more greenskin this day chose to grab the boyz and git while the gittin was gud, choosing to rout and leave the wolves to carry the day!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 FNHvbaj

So now the Wolves are back tied for top spot! And more importantly Alex, has gone from a 17gc youngblood to a heroine deserving the praise of any of the heroes of old.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 JEWLAPg
To get a sense of where she is now....
Ws 3 Bs 2 Str 3 T 4 W 2 I 3 A 2 Ld 6
But she is also Hardened (Immune to fear), Step Aside, Resilient, has Ride, Mighty blow, and Advanced Weapon Training.
And she is armed with a Dueling pistol, Claw of the old ones (Dubois family greatsword) giving her a +1 str sword attack that ignores armor, a lance, and for armor Gromril armor, Shield, Helmet, Wolf Cloak (chainmail lined cloak), Amulet of the Moon, Lucky charm and Rabits foot as well as rides Avenger, a Barded Warhorse.

That gives her vs shooting attacks, no penalties for being a large target (-1 to hit thanks to amulet of the moon) as well as a 5+ invuln save vs shooting before her 0+ armor save vs ranged fire.
In Melee she is resilant so -1 to wound her, as well as having a 5+ step aside save and a 1+ armor save.... and now toughness 4 with 2 wounds...
this in addition to her re-roll from rabits foot and 4+ to ignore first hit of game thanks to lucky charm....oh and her sword letting her parry....
So in short shes hard to damage.......

Then on the offense..... she can either strike with her lance on the charge.... or even if charged, her claw of the old ones is giving her 2 str 5 ignores armor save sword strikes with a dueling pistol added in....  oh and lets not forget her warhorse avenger's attacks....

In short shes come along way from just a cheap youngblood.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also I have been a little busy with other projects, our group is alternating between mordheim and Heralds of Ruin Kill team, basically 40k Mordheim and I've been working on both an ork and Chaos kill team for them.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 AU44vnT
My Blood Axe Warband Wip, all Military themed.
With their Leader, a Kommander Boss Meganob
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Oi5emNK

And my Chaos Warband, alot more models than I need but building it for the second one, (kill team campaign after this) and if anyone of my friends wanted to join but didn't want to make a big investment they could borrow them for this upcoming one so wanted to have options they could take.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 6uJo03S

Anyway..... Other battle tomorrow!!! Ill make sure to have that one up sooner than these .... sorry about that. hope all this makes up for it lol.

Thanks! and sorry about the absence lol. I will say its amazing to see where this warband has gone 5 weeks in. The wolves kind of snowballed into the lead.... didn't hurt that over the course of about 10 games... I've had only 3 models join the honored dead... and only 1 was a hero. Not having to pay the cost of replacing bodies, along with over the course of this finding 3 captured prisoner swordmasters meant most of my coin could be spent on equipment. Of course, were also seeing the raw power of cavalry, and how good it is to have a diverse force. Even without being able to get much better the two crossbowmen put in alot of work early, and the tilean marksman really helped round it out. But yes, the week we found a lance....bought a warhorse for alex and hired a freelance knight totally added another powerful dynamic which has the wolves being able to take on all threats.

Still we have a bit of a diverse force. Viren usually is with the heavy core swordmasters as they all wind up moving 6" instead of 8 thanks to their heavy armor and shields.... so they are rarely getting into combat now but stay for a while. Emeline and Gregory are faster infantry who are much more flexible, Emeline being a top objective nabber. Then now with My tilean marksman and marco I still have good ranged threats and with Otto having his hotchland long rifle he brings alot, although now that hes mounted, he can fire then reposition, and cause he still has a spear light armor and shield, he can charge in and still be a decent threat especially with his two attacks. And well, Percival Ivan and Alex making for a scary heavy cavalry punch....

Now im sitting on after upkeep, 102 gold..... and not much I really want to buy.... I also have a rare 11 rarity roll im sitting on from the game...which means I could say get a lance for Percival but he cant use it til he gets training... or maybe a gromril sword for emeline to just make her hit that much harder with her two attacks... or I could hire a new marksman with blunderbus (have the model and he would be very humorous to have), and gregory has a new skill not used yet so technically I could get another warhorse but I think..... I am good on cavalry and don't want to get any more silly, or have to paint an extra horse.... and cause I mean, save for the cathayan noble... I'm the only other player with mounted models and I have 4 now.... so that wouldn't be very nice... So at a bit of a loss.

Great reports. Thanks for posting them.

I hesitate to ask, as I can't find the comment again, but there was some mention of overpowered Rabbit's Feet? What's that about?

Its not that on their own rabits feet and lucky charms are overpowered, but it does get a bit silly once every hero has them. Because of that alone, just lucky charm and rabits feet saves and rerolls I pretty much during that fight with Grimmickz boys when I tabled him without loosing a model.... I only ever had to make maybe 1 or two armor saves.... it didn't ever get past that initial layer, and then cause I still had some left I was able to modify my search results plus my master mordheim map made it really advantageous for me. Its just our group personally thinks having them on every hero seems a bit to crazy, its a special item that is easy to get, super inexpensive and basically becomes a pre-requisite.... that already identified something was wrong with it for our group. Were gonna try next campaign limiting it to one per army of each and seeing how that works, also makes them more valuable when you have them as you have to choose how to best use them, and makes getting them as a reward that much more valuable as thats the only way to get more than the one you can purchase.

Also.... had a brutal cluster*frak* of a battle on monday!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BLOOD ON THE CITY STREETS!!!!

For this game, we only had 6 of us there on the event day, so it was a 3v3 battle dividing up the players between humans and beasts. It was a long 'street fight' scenario, which we quickly realized was a bit too long but was fun either way.

The Wolves "hired" a new marksman, and by hired I mean, Old Man McDougal just showed up thanks to the commotion, stumbling out of the tavern and stepping in line with the others (in game I paid his cost, gave him a blunderbus, handgun and spear to represent him basically having a 'fowling rifle' he can just load in shot or beat you over the head with but thematically hes just a random cranky tagalong)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 QK01koh
And yes....he is still in his skivvies....

The streets were long and filled with terrors! I mean it is mordheim, but yes both forces had reasons to get to the other side... possibly a bit of tenative unification vs the awakening beasts of the city.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Jm7EJzq
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 AXA99FX
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 3VrAAvt
the middle, where the battle was most likely going to take place.

And our side won table side choice and after Viren analyzed his master mordhiem map, he saw which offered him the better defensive position vs the rising horde seen in the distance. He knew we would have to make our stand so wanted to set up a good defensive plan.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 KzRbOW2

After a bit of words to determine where we wanted everything deployed, we figured we would put the Wolves Heavy infantry up front, they were the slowest but also needed every bit of space to get in position as quickly as possible because they would make up the hard to shift frontline. The Cavalry which would rush ahead set up behind, their speed making up for any loss in initial position save for Otto who needed to get up quick to try to harass the enemy.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Lul3Cic

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 I7d8DoV
Bandits had heard the commotion from the two armies and were sighted in the rooftops, clearly not just content with plundering the dead, they were primed to lay down a hail of fire to try to take out key troops. (the idea was the during the fight make things most interesting but were deployed way too early and wound up making both forced advance more cautiously and slowed things down for a bit before they vanished only to reappear late game as they should have from the start.

It took a while for the forces to move up, so... heres some mixed shots of both sides making their way through the city!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 MfG8HSq
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Gxbifwv

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 EEjxj8B
Otto got up quick and took a few pot shots at the bandits, clearly disturbed from being threatened the bandits vanished.

The combined forces of man made it to the center first, and started to set up defensive positions.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 3Ifq68x
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 C77dmQ9
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 KASHas7

Meanwhile poor placement and turn order as well as just disorganized chaos in the bestial ranks slowed their progress.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 EQogG2v
Of course the thought of a troll and rat ogre as well as them having almost a 2 to 1 advantage in bodies was intimidating. But Viren was confident the wolves could take the initial brunt of their attacks while the others supported and took out targets. The Wolves, were throwing themselves to the Wolves...sort of... but we are at least implacable...somewhat.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 W4xU1Ym
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 ZwYmyQx

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 MozPyYi
Otto set up in position to try to pick off a few key targets and maybe force the enemy to break their tentative alliance.. from fighting Grimmick before they knew if they could knock down or stun an enemy in charge range of the murderous ork in the Executioners hood, the enemies alliance would be broken and they would all become enemies vying for points, but with the speed of the approaching dire wolves and vampire meant he would only get one shot at it, and even with his rabit's foot re-roll he wasn't able to connect with one of the skaven nearby and was forced to play it smart and withdraw after back to the battle lines.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 JV8pxId
Which were starting to come together. Viren if nothing else, from his experiences before in the Grand Armies of the Empire had picked up on grand tactics and strategy and knew their best bet would be defending on their own terms... plus the large hedge would cause troubles for the enemy.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 HcYJpNE

An Enemy which was quickly approaching!!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 LGHoUFc
But we were now prepared!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 2DXsEcl

Although even Grimmick couldn't have accounted for Old Man McDougal!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 361dq28
Having all these targets bunched up, he leveled his fowling gun towards the hedge and let fire, cackling like the wild old man he was!
Although the result wasnt that grand he managed to knock down a handful of ghouls and skaven... right around where the ork with the black hood was... Uh oh.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 AABvuep
However the Vampire wouldn't stand for this man who got the first shot and sent all three wolves against him, he managed to deflect the blows of two but the third laid him low.... leaving the 3 dire wolves in position to be charged by the full might of the wolves of stirland cavalry who counter charged the beasts. The same time, the skaven, being crafty sacrificed their potential for forward movement to spread out around their fallen comrade lest the ork with murderous eyes glowing from behind the mask would break their allance... suddenly this left the undead player mostly out on his own in the front, with just a rat ogre for suppourt. The rat ogre did charge in but was unable to displace any of the knights!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 DnOKBqk
Meanwhile the Knights were cleaving up the ogre as well as the dire wolves, as gregory who put himself in a forward position was surrounded by not only the vampire but by handful of wild ghouls... But Gregory has come a long way since his early 'youngblood' state and held his own against all of them!!! Loosing only a single wound of his two to the mighty onslaught.
Alex, freed from her wolf charged the vampire, finally wanting to make him pay the debt he owed her from their previous duel as well as the heavy infantry of the Wolves charging in the vampire and ghouls. Try as she might though Alex failed to land the killing blow, taking but a single wound from the Vampire (two attacks at only ws3 still plague her), so Ser Mordred put him low. Despite her desire, even Alex knew there was a bigger battle at hand than her own this day.

Meanwhile Otto took his shot against the skaven shaman, and laid him on his back... suddenly the tables turned and the skaven once more had the threat of the Murder ork breathing down their throat, but now.... Grimmickz boys would act first and the only defense the skaven had was a black skaven to intercept the impending charge. With a single shot, the enemy's alliance was broken!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 QS23Si7
Meanwhile the wolves and the reiklander's moved forward, pushing back the undead tide... where with a lack of vampire and their forces battered, the Necromancer chose to slip off into the nearest open door and the forces vanished... leaving just the skaven and orks... and now they were at each-others throat as well!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 VlamShL
Now the Skaven and orks were trying to make the frontlines however they were also bogged down in combat with eachother! Many of the skaven lept over the hedge but due to being unable to see their foes before could merely get into position to try to land some pot shot slings on their foes...
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 F1Rhruo
Unfortunately for them they couldn't last long against our combined might and soon the Cavalry was free to leap over the hedge and charge into the enemy!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 V53urGj
Ivan, Percival and Alex took on the troll and with their combined might, and inability to be really brought low thanks to all their own defenses took down the beast as well as together with the Cathayan's cleaning up the rest of the Orks, Alex herself taking down Grimick in single combat! However, the Reikland player had to leave and forced the Cathayan players hand to break the alliance to take out his leader so he could rout.... Which now with Grimmickz boys down and the Reiklanders all that was left was the wolves and monks....and with the Alliance now off.... it was a race to the finish line, or rather a fight to the death for some like Percival who now thanks to his frenzy seeing the monks as an enemy charged in... seeing her fellow knight's rampage alex swept up some of the peasants for easy experience.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 YLqZGLD
However the Wolves had already lost many this day, well Emeline, Ser Benwick, Gregory, Ser Ivan and Old Man McDougal. We had been put into rout checks during the fight with grimmickz boys Viren was struggling to keep the troops in line (passed the first rout check thanks to Holy Relic, second and third with a 4 and 5 on (2d6)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 ItTunOM
But finally after seeing his men turn against their allies in the end Viren had had enough and in an angry shout called everyone off, leaving the battle as a win for the forces of man and allowing no further blows to be struck against eachother.

In the end the forces of good triumphed and as usual, all the injured were fine, Emeline even growing hardened from the Experience, Gregory was the only one to suffer and suffered multiple injuries, the end result merely causing him to miss the next 3 games, meaning he will be sitting it out save for the last game of the campaign.

But yes a very brutal and crazy game that was a blast and has kept the Wolves in the top spot, but theres still a long battle ahead for the wolves, and tomorrow...there are reports the Wolves might encounter Grimmick once more to settle their fued.

Thanks for reply to my question about Rabbit's Feet.

If you are interested in spending your gold, then an opulent coach wouldn't hurt. Nor would Cathayan silks, stuff like that.

Yea I decided for the next game id use my rarity rolls and gold to pick up both cathayan silk for Viren and barding for percival.

Unfortunately we didn't get our game in yet as the hand of gork, or was it mork? Behind Grimmickz boys got sick so we have to postpone our game til tomorrow before the event. Then I have surgury on tuesday so, may be a delay of a few days til I get it up, or I can try to have it up by tomorrow night since I prolly wont be sleeping anyway.

Good News, Surgury went fine! Recovery is a little slow and have to pace myself but I am back!!!

And with the two battles the night before surgury!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grimmicks rampage!!!!!

Things are stirring up in Mordheim, it seems every where you turn theres another battle as the city is far from asleep now... It seems to be ready to go to war within itself! The Wolves still in pursuit of their foe met once more to try to settle things!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 93Kv2eP
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Zagts70
The battle would take place on some of the fields outside the city gates... Viren had to make it back inside, but the wall of green skin stood in his way. (for the scenario we rolled skirmish so it was destined to be a slogfest!)

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Tn2NHpR
The Wolves decided to set up heavy on the left flank, after viewing the terrain, Viren thought it gave him the best place to set up his defenses.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Y8Vo4HG
And as usual, Grimick was on the warpath.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 ZuPifBe
Marco, with no shot moved up into position on the building, what he didn't expect was the Ork's cunning plan... As he turned his head to look towards the foes, crossbow bolts flew out from the orks lines! One from Genious, the goblin clipped him in the arm causing Marco to slip and loose his footing where he fell down both platforms and knocked himself out of the fight.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 A2HpTYu
Meanwhile, Viren lead the majority of the troops up to secure the old statue center, likely the last resting place of a fallen noble, seeing their proximity to the graveyards and mausoleums behind them but it had been fortified and would make for a good position.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 97az0EQ
Meanwhile the Cavalry leapt forward to protect their flanks.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 9UmSpeS
And Grimmickz boyz moved up

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 T7bpZTM
Viren's men dug in.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 QtwujKE
All the orks charged forward, Grimmick had a harder time keeping up as his black ork mount had a smashed leg, and the troll was often stuck drooling rather than seeing anything worth chasing.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 TIeAx0b
Seeing his chance, Old Man McDougal lept forward gleefully as the orks were providing him with great targets for his fowling gun!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 JTctKMI
His shot hit 3.....and 3 6's to wound them ._.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 4duWUC7
Although all he managed to do was knock down and stun a goblin. One of the goblins though laughed at his friends pathetic plight, and with a giggle he let loose an arrow into his fallen comrade taking him out of action (animosity is silly)

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 JoypoFd
The troll charges in!!! And with a swing of his arm, Old Man McDougal was swept off his feet.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 3hXELa2
The Cavalry charged in!!! managed to get a wound off but those trolls are resilant!!!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 259tcCG
Meanwhile Viren with his crossbow, Otto, and our Tilean marksman kept the front line of the orks pinned down and away from the fight vs the troll.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 93StCHj
While Percival and Emeline made sure the other ork flank couldn't get involved either.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 My1hpwE
But Percival being bloodthirsty, was fine with taking down a few greenskins!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 FsIHOkb

Meanwhile! The troll, his stomache churning from the lances to his belly, let out a mighty blast of vomit on Ser Ivan! The caustic goo forced his retreat as he and his horse vanished off the battlefield to tend to their new hell of a situation.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 2pmkof8

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Ejh407M
In retaliation, two of the heavy Infantry joined the fight and together with Alex and Otto finally brought the beast low. Grimmick, now with the odds drastically against him and his forces spread out pulled back for a moment, but he voed to be back in a moment once his pet had recovered!!!

Meanwhile the Wolves were left to bury Old Man McDougal, noone was still quite sure where he came from or what he was doing, but he still fought valiantly and deserved a place among the honored dead.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 JSYdtYs
Seriously....this is all I have lost this entire campaign ._. When I wonder why I am doing so well, 3 rescued prisoner sword-masters + only loosing a handful of models is defiantly a major factor.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 4QcpR5z
Also Viren found a wardog in the ruins.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Battle for the Gates!!!!

Here four armies meet, and this time, we were hunting Generals!!! The objective of this scenario, take out an enemy leader. For each leader taken out, the player gets an additional campaign point and the player whos leader is out has to automatically rout. (also phone was low on power so sorry for the sporatic pictures) but it was a simple game...

For this battle, Viren took up position with his crossbowmen, seeing as he had a crossbow himself he decided to play defensive.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 MJNpeQs
Meanwhile the Cavalry deployed behind him, ready to be unleashed on their own to take out the opposition.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 6jjN6j7

Meanwhile, the Cathayan player decided in a very un thematic way to 'deny the Wolves a point' rather than let us make out of this with too much of a lead and with that express goal, send their leader forward to the ork lines. In a display of pride he pulled out his dual pistols and leveled them at the front goblins, knocking one down.... Before the Ork shaman, eager to test out his new zapp spell leveled a finger at him and blasted him into a heaping pile of ash.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 URira6k
Seeing as the monks were routing the cavalry charged against the reiklanders, Alex was eager to get her vengence on their warboss for his pistol shot to her back during the saxon games.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 HhhOeE3
As the Cavalry moved up.... the Reiklander thought it was the proper moment and charged in against percival and his men against the others... In truth, yes he was backed into a corner... but 'best odds' and rushing in are two different things... as he quickly learned while Percival Cut the leader down, Alex took out the fools who charged her and Ser Ivan swept his foes away....

Now it was back to Grimmick vs Viren on the same field of battle as last time, but this time, they had to come to hunt Viren down.
Viren called back most of his cavlary, in a bid to not only fortify his potion but to try to bait Grimmick into funneling all his forces into their front.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 1hREMUp

The orks were quick to oblige, meanwhile Alex worked her way around one flank while the others and Emeline worked their way around the other flank.. And then the opportunity presented itself and They lunged in vs Grimmick, only half of Grimmicks boys could turn to aid him but it was still a risky endeavor.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 R5ZmNE4
For four turns, alex and Percival held out against the might of the Shaman, Warboss, 4 ork boyz and a troll, unable to be displaced, until alex managed to knock down Grimmick... and Otto charged in, able to avoid the fight due to alex and percival tying the horde down and he quickly took out Grimmick, winning the day for the wolves!!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 0UidU69

Now the Wolves Lead the League by 6 points, with the last two games on monday!!!!

Also Genius, the goblin, suffered heavily, and is now stupid, robbed, and while being robbed had to fight a pit fighter and lost. But hes still alive! (hes kind of the mascot of the orks and yes we allowed him to be a hero after his exploits early on in the campaign)

I never liked Da Mob's rule for goblins, so its good to see a group allowing the 'odd' goblin hero.

Glad to hear the surgery went well.

That's always been a sore point with moi as well. Actually I don't see why the Orcs & Goblins are lumped together. Other than the G.W. color scheme there isn't much they have in common.  Suspect

Turns out the campaign got extended a week, so just two big battles... both over a ruined castle the Wolves of Stirland wished to 'keep' (get it! Castle humor......no... ok ill move on)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CASTLE CONQUEST!!!!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 AocxQkP

Alone in the Forest outside Mordheim sits the ruins of a castle once held by an early land baron during the greater ages of strife, its long since been abandoned to time and nearly forgotten as the city grew and prospered.

Viren, keen to find a new base of operations during the increased strife in the city traced his fingers along the old master map he had found til he came across the mention of these ruins and sought to investigate. The old church they found, was already known by their greenskin rivals and Viren was keen to find an uncontested place to set up.... however, Grimmick is not the kind of leader who would let the Wolves claim such a magnificent prize in HIS city and tracked them down.... As Viren investigated the site, he quickly heard the familiar sounds of a greenskin approach and it was clear this would become their next battlefield!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Dj2rkf9

Both sides knew the key to victory here would be securing the castle before the other side did and moved quickly into the ruins. (The random scenario was occupy, we rolled and got 4 structures as being the buildings to occupy so chose the 4 ruined tower corners of the castle's outer wall to be the points of contention.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 S4OmXRq
Viren and the Wolves deployed as far forward as they could to quickly move into the ruins, Viren's tactical knowlege gave him an edge here as well as having beaten Grimmick to the battlefield (tactican allowed him to deploy 12" instead of 8" onto the field)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 AR4F4S8

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Ij6Sr8W
Meanwhile Grimmick and his boyz crossed the river to assault the keep!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Wp7QIu9
Viren, Spot and Emeline moved up to secure the first tower, to try to get in position, meanwhile Otto dashed forward into the cryptyard, hoping he could get an eye on the approaching horde.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 C0aQSoB

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 B6R3zID
Meanwhile the other tower was quickly claimed by the wolves as the cavalry circled around for suppourt.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 GnKV8gk
Meanwhile the orks started to move up to the castle walls, some clever gits even hiding behind the ruins, fearful of the range of the Wolves crossbows.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 0WVS9c7

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 S1UUqgE
Meanwhile Ivan and Percival dashed around the left flank, itching to get behind the orks and sow chaos in their ranks.... Unbeknownst to them, the ork shaman bonnock looked on through a scrying spell, he wasn't able to make it to the battle thanks to an old war wound but he wasn't about to keep his minds eye away. (the shaman model wasn't actually deployed but left on the table after old war wound was rolled)

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 WTL45yr
The troll, smelling a meal, dashed towards the graveyard and Otto!!!!!! Looks like Otto was going to be in Grave Danger!!!!

Just then! A Goblin dashed foward, goaded on by his friends (and failing his animosity roll but rushing forward) he moved into the ruins to get a better shot at the wolves.... Problem was.... Percival, in his bloodthirsty rage saw the goblin and his blood boiled over forcing him to charge the little beast and felling him. (Frenzy is a pain but then again, 4 str 6 spear attacks means he can pretty much deal with whatever he lunges towards)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 W1GA2Pu

Otto, not too keen to become a Trolls lunch backed up into the graves and then made a dash for it.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 2f7SdS9
The Troll, wasn't the brightest creature and didn't understand where the horsesnackman had gone and lumbered forward into the graveyard only to be confused at where his lunch went.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 YD0g3rh

Then! The orks executed a cunning plan! They weren't too keen on allowing the feared red horseman to have his way with them and charged in! Sorlock, joined by 3 brave goblins piled on the knight!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 TCyMZdI
However.....Percival is no longer the pushover he once was.... and Sorlock, having suffered many wounds to his chest was now hardly the threat he once was... (toughness 2 on an ork OUCH!) and in a flurry of steel and blood Percival thinned out his foes...
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Xfts1ms

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 HXkqsxV
Meanwhile the Moon Lord came out of hiding to dash towards the Wolves lines!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 YrGO6Hc
He was a proud ork but he misjudged his charge range leaving him in the open in front of Viren, Emeline, Duncan McDowed and even Otto....
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 IV5NumI
And unfortunately, his immediate support was far behind... trying desperately to pelt Viren and his men from their position with poorly aimed crossbow fire.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 W8gNxVA
And after a charge from Emeline and Otto, the moonlord was brought low as well...

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 DhgebUp
And just when Grimmick considered his plan wasn't coming together, the Black Knight Ser Ivan of Hedge lept in from behind!!! Although he didn't manage to bring the warboss down, he did give him quite a suprise and tied him up!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 IgxnNl7
Alex lept in to help Percival clean up the remaining goblins that charged him and made short work of them (Percival isn't knocked down, rather fell thanks to poor postioning of the model before the photo was taken)

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 DT62mqy
Hearing the warboss scream! The troll turned around and lumbered back towards his master to try to help, meanwhile a shot finally connected and laid Duncan McDowed low! In retaliation and almost ignoring the troll, Otto charged one of the ork archers as Emeline charged another at the fountain!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 CUWvAtr
But the troll was too late, with a loud shriek, grimmick cried out as percival charged in! Grimmick once more played dead to get the Wolves off his back as the rest of them retreated back into the woods!

The day once more, and the Castle were in the hands of the Wolves of Stirland!!!!

But it was also another bloody day as the Wolves spent the evening finding a spot for their fallen friend Duncan to Join the Honored dead.

Sorry for the double post... accident T_T

A MOAT OF BLOOD!!!!!!!!

The castle was held by Viren but he knew Grimmick would be back, he always was, however the sounds of battle lured others who were eager to see if this castle held any other hidden treasures inside. Before the Wolves could even make camp, it seemed as though this ground would have to be stained red as the armies approached.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Cxu9Uux
Having licked their wounds, Grimmick crossed the river once more to do battle, this castle was one prize he wouldn't let fall into the hands of the feathered freaks.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 LrV1geJ
However, a mercenary company out of Middenheim had their eyes on the fortress as well. Why build so many grand walls if not to guard treasure inside?!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 QGgqMbf
The monks, fresh from replacing their warband once more, were keen to earn both coin and glory! And were easily lured to the battlefield.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 0qTGF5q
Meanwhile the wolves quickly moved to try to retake their recent prize... although Viren was having doubts about the value of these ruins now.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 QTx4J2e
All the forces make a break for the ruins!!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 HFa8KWg

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 X0DI47Z
But the monks were keen to lure out the wolves, starting to send a contigent of peasants towards them..... And the Wolves were not about to allow for a peasant uprising!!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Js3kaFu
Alex, Percival, Ivan, and Emeline all charged and the peasants and cut them down to a man....meanwhile the rest of the Wolves moved foward to secure familiar positions
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 5Rz6igX

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 TLrnSoD
Seeking to run the Monks off, Ivan and Otto moved up, however the Monk Lieutenant laying in wait ambushed otto, leaping out with his katana at the horseman! But Otto, was no pushover... A thrust from his rifle into the gut of the monk caught him mid swing and brought him down!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 RmElKdl
Alex and Percival dashed to the side, rather bloodthirsty after their first few kills  but they managed to at least run off the monks who darted forward, towards Grimmicks lines! So The Wolves pulled back to consolodate once more... meanwhile Gregory who had sat out the last three battles due to injuries tried keeping up with the others only for them to turn back, with a heavy sigh he relized he had to reposition as well..
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 OK1qeHc

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 IdVLtvl
Viren watched from his position as the Orks turned their full might against the new mercenaries. These umies seemed to Grimmick to be less scary thanks to their lack of feathers, but they were fiesty as even their boss charged in...
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 GfMWRLk
However they quickly crumbled under the orks might! However they bought Viren enough time to enact a cunning plan as he doubled his cavalry around once more to work around the ruins and then get behind the ork lines, catching them in a pincer as Percival and Alex moved into position!!! The monks had gone even further behind the ork lines, to the Wolves they had seemed to vanish but it was of no concern, Grimmick was the real threat!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 HYAveVo

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 NMv2gSK
How overeager Gregory got himself into this mess was almost beyond his imagination but he found himself suddenly one on one with a troll and the Moonlord!!!! But Gregory, dispite his injuries was no pushover....And he held firm! Bringing down the moonlord with his skillfull swordsmanship.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 ZNctl92
The battle vs the orks was starting to get wild.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 FakdxSu
Alex Charged Genius as Percival lept in vs a wild greenskin.... Both were quickly brought low under the might of a cavalry charge!!! However the shaman bonnock was keen to take the head of the black haired maiden on her green steed after he saw her in the saxon games and lept in!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 HqBcQYM
With a wave of his hands he called forth a mighty zapp!! sending arcs of light towards Alex but she saw the move coming and ducked to the side of both blasts!!!! Then struck with her blade deep and stripped two large sections out of the orks flank! Then Emeline charged in to aid her cousin, drawing enough attention from the shaman to allow an opening for Alex as she plunged the family blade into the chest of the shaman bringing him down!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Hd3YmLP
Meanwhile Gregory, proving himself a swordmaster worthy of legend and making up for his long absence took on the troll by himself and finally brought it down!!!! Freeing Otto to Pursue and Take down Grimmick.... Cutting the orks down to a man (no need to keep passing rout checks if you have no models left!)

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 0pbkLRm
Then Alex and Emeline turned their attention to the monks, the rest of them, all three heroic monks and their Noble tried their best but untimatly were brought down by the two of them in a flurry of swordstrikes!!!

Once again, Victory was in the Hands of the Wolves of Stirland and they were the only models left on the table in the end. A truely bloody affair all around, and Ser Benwick as well joined the honored dead as he was brought down by a marksman from the Middenheimers.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE BROKEN BRIDGE!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 LBLs1TO

The Wolves were gearing up for what they knew would be a big fight, everyone was drawn back into the city as though it was calling to them.. However the wolves also finally received reinforcements from back home in the form of a squad of crossbowmen from the Stirland Regulars. (for this battle they are represented by old dark elf crossbowmen but will be assembled by monday's battle)

As they came out of their castle to head back to the city, they had to cross the river one more by one of the city gates... Grimmick however wasn't going to let that happen and decided he would take the river crossing.... even though the water wasn't too deep... (we ruled it for fun that also if you ended your movement in it, you would be carried d6 inches downstream, which as we had objectives, could potentially carry you further away from the objectives!!!!)

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 RDe4hba

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Nusv9dB

We rolled for scenario and got occupy!!! The objective as it figured was to occupy territory and after a miserable roll, there were 3 key points that needed to be held.

Point 1, the Bridge (the bridge plus the hill counted for the structure)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 EnwxagU

Point 2, the tollkeepers tower
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 CNNGVja

Point 3, the collapsed tower
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 234a4FY

And the Wolves, now a full 15 man force ._., although Viren started to notice his old wounds acting up and had to sit out this battle.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 IoYHCOF
Still, quite formidable

Grimmick deployed on the other side of the river keen to rush the bridge
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 VpoQp1d

The Wolves Deployed in the center as well save for half the crossbowmen taking up position near the ruined tower.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 6zdshPd

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 YpUIJwr
The orks advanced towards the bridge!!!

The Wolves stayed mostly stationary, trying to feel out the situation and a little more cautious now that Viren wasn't guiding them. However, Otto saw his shot vs Grimmick and took it, sniping the warboss and taking him out of the battle!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 4G6tY9r
That dealt a major blow to the Orks because now they couldn't use his leadership for the troll, Genious or the Moonlord who all suffered from stupidity! And grimmick's ability to reroll every rout check would have been welcome..

Failing an animosity test, one of the Goblins was a bit eager and rushed across the bridge shouting "I'll show you what for! Ill snipe one of them umies!"
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 ZMM5KwX
Although his shot failed to connect....worse he was right in range for Percival who as usual was seeing red...
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 ZFi7WhX
Percival charged in and 4 attacks as ws5 at str 6...... before the horse even got a chance to attack spelled doom for the poor goblin.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 T6aqWti
Meanwhile the crossbowmen were in position reining down fire and stripping a wound off the troll.

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 4mjJb0Z
The orks started to advance....but with the troll failing his stupidity and the loss of grimmick, things were already looking bad for them... And Percival charging in matched with the wolves coming out didn't make things easier...
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 AcX9xrZ
Worse Bonnock, the shaman couldn't manage to inspire the boys, no matter how hard he shouted 'lets go' Gork and Mork were not going to interfere...

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 EI0lLxp
Ser Ivan Darts across the river.
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 JhkPV0k
Ready to take on a few orks of his own!!!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 2c72IHU
Meanwhile a deadly volly of bolts stripped the last wounds from the troll and stunning him!!! Another punishing blow to the orks!

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 GUHuT4y
Things were looking bad for the orks but the moonlord was able to hold his own vs percival for a turn, but then Ivan charged in!
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 PUSs8Rj
But even with his 3 attacks, only managed to stun bonemasher...

The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 OQUqkRk
The story was different by the bridge, Gregory charged the troll, he was already known as the trollslayer after last battle and was keen to prove it wasn't a fluke, and the goblin, knowing how fearful this man was couldn't bring himself to stand in his way (failed his intercept)
The Wolves of Stirland - Page 2 Nk67KYB
After a flurry of blows, Gregory took the beast down, and the moon lord crumbled under alex's might.. Now with most of his force out of action and little damage to the wolves, the Orks turned and fled.....

Victory once more for the Wolves of Stirland!!!!!!

And another victory for the Brushknight as someone sold their old battlefleet gothic imperial fleet to the store a week ago... so for 40$ I picked up an entire fleet!!!
