Floedebolle goes Froudissimo!

Hej guys, and now to something completly different!
I chose Painting and Modelling cause i thought it would fit best here. Well, i am going to build a Foam puppet labyrinth -henson froud style, that my daughter chose out of many gnomes, by one of the many books thta brian froud has made , about trolls, gnomes and other minis.
This one i am going to sculpt will be one that comes from the henson movie labyrinth, and believe, i have so much fun allready now, that this wont be the last one for sure!

Well, i started with the legs, left on still WIP, the right one almost done before making the mold.
I am totally in the foam latex mini fx building right now, and ordered everything that i would need to cast in foam. I even ordered a sunbeam mastermix kitchenmachine from the us!;)Puppet will stand about half a meter.

So, here are the first impressions of those legs, and a very early phase of the head. Puppet will be ale to speak, and even move legs and arms, of course not by itself!

So, update time! Have been busy doing the head, got some new, bigger eyes, but unfourtunaly not exactly the ones shown in the original sketch, those would have been custom eyes, far to expensive.
But now i found some owl ones, 26mm in diameter, should do the job.

Working on the left leg now, and soon hands and headdress. If some of you could take a look at the hat, to me it looks like the top is the visible part of a helmet and the rest is laether wrapped around, what do you think?

The face is WONDERFULLY expressive...GREAT WORK!   
As to the hat, to moi it looks like a wide brimmed pointy hat with the brim turned up in the front.  

Thanks al, yeah, no question about the brim, its just that pointy thing that disturbes me, the way it reflects the light, could be metal. The reason why iam not sure of it is because in that book of froud, almost everyone wears some sort of modified helmet.

The point at first reminded me of the point on an acorn, but it is slightly curved.  

What a happy girl. The face looks very cute and I can not wait to see the finished gnome.

Today i finished the right leg, fotos tomorrow. Working on the left leg, then follow hands.
Tonight i work on the armature, beeing a bit tricky, cause all the moves the puppet will could make in the future depend on this moment , how i set the armature together. One wrong thought concerning moveability and the whole puppet walks the wrong way.
I can also send some WIP´s of this, but it doesnt look interesting to me, but so what?!

sorry , no update on this one, cause of all the work i have ti finish first.
But the good part of this is that i can show you some WIP of my first comission sculpting job so far, a pitbull male, that has to be done til sunday, so, still some work to so, and a mold too.
