| There are dark deed being done in the Old Graveyard beneath the pale moonlight. Jon Apflel leaves his entourage to stalk the night: ...maybe stop off for a pint & a game of darts while he's at it: AND a better look at the Girls he left behind; the Foxx Sisters, Molly, Polly, & Dolly: Madame De Sade; known to her friends as Dee Dee: AND the Dread Assassin, Anne...painted by my dear friend, Anne O'Leary: As the plot & the night thicken further FOUL PHOTOS will be inflicted on you, my Fellow Forum Folk...Bwahahahahahahaha! In the interim, your kind comments are once more requested. | |

| Thanks, theomar. I always fret over the quality of the photos; it is a relief that you like them. I'm starting to view the terrain as a story telling device rather than a games setting...it has possibilities. | |

For awhile I was a solo gamer. Part of the fun in that genre is keeping journals of the adventure. I might do something similar with photo reports of the games. Doing photo sets of the minis for staged stories is another attractive possibility.

It is.
It could be great fun to follow the adventures of Seedy Jon and his minions. I think those wyrd minis were made to be painted by you. The story telling aspect of the games has always appealed to moi. With all the minis I have painted up & in backlog, I could have quite a cast of characters. It might even push me into learning how to take better photos...or not. I'm glad you like the minis. They were an enjoyable painting project. I picked them up in '07 or so when they were fairly new pieces & collecting the entire Wyrd line was a possibility. It took all this time to overcome the "how to do them up" syndrome...having a use for them helped. - Quase wrote:

I like! Thanks again, Quase. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Girls worked with my painting style...such as it is. They gave me a chance to go with colors that I normally wouldn't have been able to use. All in all a fun task that I'm delighted you like.

| As the dark clouds pass across the face of the leering Moon, Shadowy figures flicker in & out of sight, mere figments of the imagination...or perhaps not. An Eerie Presence at the Gate: A trio of Darkness emerges from the Crypts: There, is that something by the Statue?: ...Yes! I can already see the possibilities for all the terrain boards & painted minis. Your comments on them would be most welcome...mostly. | |

| After several pages of other things, I'm happy (relieved) to say Mungo Hammertoe, Bob the Blue Ox, & Spook the Talking Wonder Skull are FINALLY done. AND here are some TRULY AWFUL Photos of the Terrible Trio: From a distance: ...Spook the Talking Wonder Skull (he started out as a silly looking skull that I couldn't figure out how to make into something serious; SO I made him sillier)...the mushroom doesn't look all that thrilled with the proximity of the Trio: AND some close ups: Hopefully over the next few days I'll get some better photos on one of the terrain boards for something artsy. Until then your comments would be welcome...for the most part. | |

| It looks as though Mungo should fear for his hammertoes, that mushroom is awfully close. The photos do make it clearer that Mungo is riding Bob, which is a good thing. Spook looks suitably animated and engaged, although whether he is engaged in something beneficial to the others is open for speculation. Great little vignette, congratz on their completion | |

| Thanks, V.K.! Like most large pieces, the painting process is a pain, but there is a tremendous relief/satisfaction in completion. It's rather like hitting yourself over the head with a hammer; i.e., it's not so hot while your doing it, but great when you stop. All the little details are what made the Beasty tolerable to do; &, hopefully, enjoyable to view. | |

| From past experince, I have noticed that larger models were easier and more fun to paint. But I understand about it can be a pain in the butt. I have been painting (on and off) the watch tower from the Empire village kit for about a week now. All the little details slow things down. I can only paint if for an hour or so before I get bored. Its almost done. And mongo looks awesome. Love the talking skull. | |

| Thanks for the reply, flipchuck...I'm glad you like the Trio. The trouble with the big metal pieces, is partly the weight, aka the wrist breaker factor, & the occasional bump & scratch the weight cause make getting it to the spray finish stage like juggling too many balls. It is a wonderful feeling finishing a big piece though. @V.K.: it's good to have you home! | |
