| From BoLS: Games Workshop is bidding goodbye to a lot of games from the days of yore. Grab your hankie... This story has been bouncing around for a couple days, but multiple sources are now saying that indeed the entire Games Workshop Specialist Games line is shuffling towards the graveyard. In particular, the following: -Necromunda -Battlefleet Gothic -Epic -Mordheim -Warmaster -Inquisitor Are all only available till stocks run dry then they are history. Forgeworld just announced the ending of all products and support for Specialist Games as well. That ends a long era, of variety and adventure in the worlds of both Warhammer Fantasy and the Dark Millenium. Epic in particular has a long pedigree within Games Workshop and served as the incubator for so much of the fluff and details of the universe. The Horus Heresy, titans, and so much more came around via Epic, and it will be a sad day to see the old girl fade away. Battle Fleet Gothic's demise marks the end of spacefaring gameplay in the 40K universe, and also served as the wellspring from which so much of the naval detail and backstory came from. Forgeworld themselves wouldn't have all those sexy titans to sell us if not for Specialist Games... A bigger question is why now? This final nail in the Specialist Games coffin brings GW at last down to three core systems. In order of importance, 40K, Fantasy, and LotR. It was always a longshot to ever see those ranges get moved over to finecast, but somehow the lack of those fiddly, esoteric systems, makes Games Workshop seem so - ordinary, normal. Like a building that has painted over all its previous intricate detailing to put up a clean, tidy appearance. I for one am sad to see them go. BoLS's page | |

| It is sad. There were some very imaginative pieces in the Specialist Games ranges. For moi, it is sad as it represents the severing of the lat thread that tied G.W. as it is now to the G.W. I loved way back when. | |

| Why now? Some talk on the Collecting Citadel Miniatures Yahoo Group that GW is be sold and that they're trying to make the numbers look good before it happens. The usual ex-employee told me stuff, so take it with a fistful of salt.
I, too, will be sad to see these games disappear. Specialist Games, however, has always been a joke. Virtually all of the official good stuff in terms of rules and miniatures came out when Mordheim, Necromunda etc. were part of GW's main operation.

| It's sad as Gw is deleting a good part of its history that made" veterans" spend lot of hours in fun games, modeling, painting and personally too as i'd like to collect some of GW bands but not have money at disposal or they're not priority as i've other stuff, so maybe when i'll have some money to buy them, i'll have to sell my blood to buy them from ebay as they are oop(and expensive) | |

| I've just saved all pdf files on GW's website onto my pc, and I'd advice you to do the same. As long as a single copy of the rules still exists and there's two people to play it, the heart of Mordheim will continue to beat, and I hope that we can keep that heart beating for a long time! | |

It's true. It's as sad as every end of something we liked, something what now will remain just a memory. But I don't think it will affect Mordheim players. Not these I know. The players make the game alive, not GW

| None of the Flame On group use many actual Mordheim miniature. Most of our warbands are Warhammer models, conversions, kit-bashes and other manufacteror's products.
And what Skavenblight said is spot on: we are Mordheim!

| It's a sad day but not because the game(s) are dead but because it means that GW has dropped the ball on these for good. Not that this effects us much (if any) but rather I just hate to see the game take any steps back. I love this game so much and it was always great for new people getting into the WH world as a cheap alternative to building a full on army. Just means that I got to work harder to get more fresh meat into the game | |

| Yep, very sad. The models are disappearing fast and furious, so make sure you're quick to get your hands on what is still left!
