| I finally put the pavilion over the blacksmiths workshop. With that, no more roofs to build! It's on to carving out the river banks on the gate side now. | |

| I like the stairwell wall quite a bit.
I am enjoying the project much more now that I remember to visit the Stonecutter's guild now and again. Wondrous stuff! | |

| Ok, some cliff progress to report. I’ve been struggling with the rock design for a while, mostly because of the stairs. I’m really happy with the sloped layers by the stairs, but that lead to a problem. To continue that on the other side of the stairs would look unnatural. I had carved out some big boulders, but they didn’t quite look right either. I ended up flaking off some of the boulders, as well as having some area that was quarried. Hopefully when paint is done these will look good together. If not, I’ll add a bunch of vegetation to hide it, and hopefully that will do it. Or, just look at the buildings. | |

| The sloped layers look cool, but they are the problem all right.
I am confused, geologically, as to why it would be unnatural for them to occur on the other side of the stair. It seems more unnatural that they do not.

| I like the rock! Your buildings are a real inspiration for me! The type of your photos is everything right in the scene. When watching I think to go through the streets. Really fantastic! | |

| Thanks guys, long way to go though. Ok, starting on the water test, and so far I’m pleased. I started by laying out the water effects onto a cookie sheet, and stippled it towards the bottom. Once dry, I laid it out onto the test river bed. This is going to be a long process, lots of layers. I’ll have to do water effects splashes wherever the falls touch down. There will also need to be layers of realistic water, with water effects waves and ripples on top of that. I was a little concerned about the cascades though, now I’m not so worried. | |

| Since I've had mixed results at best with the beasty, I'll follow your water effects with rapt interest. | |

| Pouring Woodland Scenics Realistic Water. It's a slow process, I need to wait minimum 24 hours between pours. Expensive also, I've got a lot of water to do. | |
