| Damn, I had the feeling I had seen this model before, but wasn't quite sure where. Didn't rrealize it was a conversion till I scrolled all the way up again. Some nice models you've got there and using Elves for Arabs is a nice idea! | |

| As a new player to Mordheim, what Warband rules are you using for your Araby list? Where can I find it? | |

| There are several Araby warbands. The easiest to find are the Tomb Raiders published in TC#20, pp. 14-18. (This is also a horrible warband). The original Khemri website had the Arabian Nomads warband and the Arabian Thieves warband. You can find these warbands in most of the compilation sites that folks have set up in google docs, etc. The Relics of the Crusades setting has three Arabian Tribes warbands (based on the same concept as the Mercenaries warbands in the rulebook, you have one set of characters, but what they can do depends on which tribe you choose.) Relics also has the Slavers warband. Finally the Sartosa setting has the Arabian Smugglers warband. https://sites.google.com/site/styroheim/sartosaI have used these models as Tomb Raiders, Nomads, Thieves, Ghutani, Turjuk and Smugglers. We spend a lot of time in Araby. | |

| You are welcome. The Tomb Raiders do have the most balanced spell list though, so I use that for all Arabian spell casters (and the Genie Hired sword). | |

| Shame there is no option to buy a magic carpet... Serious oversight by the rules writers... | |

| Apart from the awesome Djinn, I´m impresed by the look of the background, it seems a highly inmersive board, there is any images in this forum of your full board?? How you made or obtain the playing mat? | |

| The GW version of the Flying Carpet is in TC#17. Not my favorite take.
Thanks I forgot Brother Vinni, he has great Arabs and Empire models, but not a site to visit at work or in a public place.

| Oooh, my first introduction to this thread -- I like it! Though knowing someone makes Arabian-style heads may lure me into another project...
The pirate band looks great, & I like the rag-tag mix amongst them (fez wearing musketeers, a turbanned Arabyan, & Old World buccaneers). Plus the scenery looks great, as ever.

| Thanks very much for the kind comments.
Most of the models are Wargames Foundry from their Darkest Africa, pirate and swashbuckler collections. The guy with the harpoon is Reaper and there is one GW Dogs of War crossbowman (my Tilean marksman who's paint had nearly worn off in the last 20yrs).
The slapdash warband background is that the Estalian sellsword, Captain de Guzman, has made an alliance with Alma the Merchant Princess. So the crew is made up of a mix of Arabian types and Estalians and Imperials. I had hoped to capture more dwarves as I have some Spanish style armored dwarves, but Jake has been working out of town for the last couple of months. So I have been pressganging goblins for the last few games to add variety.

| ~~A Magic Carpet Ride, Take Two~~I have been messing with my magic carpet again. Long ago Jim Lenglade made me a solid wood base for the magic card I was using as a carpet. But I lost the wooden base when I moved a few years ago. So I had finally used an old scrap of cut off foam as a base last September. But I made the carpet height 2" because that's how far you fall if you fall off on ground level. But a 2 inch height caused all kinds of problems for using the carpet on the table. I was always knocking models off of it or knocking it over. Or it just would not fit on most scenery. So I got out the razor saw and cut about an inch off of the height. Much better. Also, 3D printing means that there are suddenly all kinds of choices for carpets. Jim L printed up a few and I chose one that looked paintable and useful for setting models on. Paint, glue and a bit of sand and here is the new Magic Carpet! | |

| LOOKING GOOD! What would Araby be without flying carpets? That is an elegant carpet & the supporting base has a nice magical feel to it. OUTSTANDING STUFF! | |
